The bread and salad were fresh, and the toast was crispy and delicious. The whole place was filled with the wonderful aroma of freshly baked bread and brewing coffee. There seemed to be bread crumbs left on most of the tables but I decided not to take off any point. I visited this establishment on Friday after I was done at the spa. My sister and I decided to enjoy a light lunch. It was her birthday. We had two large Iced Chai Teas with Oatmilk. I ordered the Caesar Salad with Chicken and she had the Mediterranean Salad with Chicken. Our salads were tasty and the Iced Chai Teas were very good. The service was quick and the workers were friendly. The restaurant was busy for an early Friday afternoon. But it wasn't noisy. I would definitely return to try other options on the menu. Good bakery and cafe stop while waiting for our son's tour and visit at USMMA to conclude. Mediterranean salad was excellent, but the Mediterranean wrap was less flavorful. Chocolate croissant and scone were excellent as well. Add a baguette for tomorrow and a cup of coffee for $42. Our visit at 2 pm left many of the cases empty, so probably a better AM stop than PM. Interior is bright with lots of windows and well decorated. Plenty of parking. Looks to be a popular hub in town, based on groups gathering and friends meeting up. Omg, this place has so much potential, but somehow it just keeps getting worse every time I come here. And I come pretty often because I live in the neighborhood. Today I went mainly for the Strawberry Matcha Latte, which I literally ordered here just a week ago and really liked. Apparently, it's already gone from the menu. I asked the cashier about it and she looked completely clueless, like she had no idea what I was talking about. What bothered me even more was that she made absolutely no effort to find out or ask someone else. She just seemed like she couldn't care less. I finally had to ask another cashier myself, who told me they don't sell the drink anymore. How does a drink go from being available one week to completely discontinued the next, with the staff not even knowing what it is? Then I ordered a chocolate chip scone, and it was so burnt that I honestly couldn't believe they served it. The most frustrating part is that this place could be SO good. It's a beautiful space, the location is great, and it's so convenient for those of us who live nearby. But the customer service, staff training, quality control, and overall consistency are seriously lacking. Every time I come, there seems to be another disappointment. I saw someone checked in at Marie Blachère and it looked really good, so I told my wife we should go for breakfast one day and of course we did. When we arrived, there were so many options to choose from. Finally decided on a Blueberry Muffin and my wife had the Chocolate croissant. For drinks I had a large Americano, and my wife had a regular coffee. Our pastries were very good, my Americano was awesome, one of the best I have had and my wife said her coffee was also great. The place was somewhat crowded, luckily, we got a table and enjoyed our breakfast in a nice comfortable setting. They also had many other options and roof top seating weather permitting. Fresh breads being baked, desserts being made just beyond the counter. Smell the dough and sugar wafting through. The interior is huge, two levels for seating and the organized line for ordering. They also have their own parking spaces just outside the perimeter. Note: the lot is shared so try to park as marked with the bakery logo in designated spaces. High ceilings so it feels spacious and there is an outdoor terrace on the second level for better weather days. They run daily specials - buy three get fourth free on many of the baked goods. And if you go 30 minutes before close, items are marked 50% off. There's also a 50% off bin for items that were not sold the previous day. Must try: croissants and the baguette. I really enjoyed the soft baked baguette and I didn't try yet but noted the vegan friendly breads offered as well. The sandwiches we tried were very good: tuna with hard boiled egg and the salmon avocado croissant sandwich. My family enjoyed all of the tarts and the brownie was a hit. I suppose you can't go wrong with a classic brownie. I'm definitely coming back to try the goat cheese and tomato tart - sad face, it was sold out this visit. The decor is wide-spaced and cozy with a lot of indoor & outdoor seating. The environment and ambiance is perfect as a place for breakfast or afternoon tea. Their pastry & bread options were various and we had 4 different pastries: Almond Croissant, Sugar Brioche, Blueberry Scone & Cinnamon roll. The pastries were overall not memorable and the price was kind of high with its portion in our opinions. I went to a bbq gathering and one of the guests brought a pear pie from this bakery. I'm usually not a fan of pies or tarts, let alone a pear pie (?) I was pretty hesitant in trying it because I was almost certain I wouldn't like it. To my absolute surprise...it was AMAZING! The crust was absolutely flawless. It was crunchy but my taste buds also told me the crust was presoaked or washed with some sort of simple syrup before they piled on the delicate pear chunks/purée filing on top. The crust was the perfect thickness and flakiness. The pear filling was not chunky like the usual apple pie fillings but also not mush like apple sauce. The staff does not really understand what you are saying as well either, they all look confused. A man came in and ordered four multi grain sliced. Looked awesome so maybe next time. The signs on the window are friendly and welcoming. Offering happy hour from 4-6 for wine and beer. Not sure I picture this place for alcohol but hey once drinking any place works hahah Also they clearly must get all the locals in late as the post a sign for half off 40 minutes before they close. Good idea to come and pay full price early or they'll likely be out of what you want. If making a trip up here. Best leaving the super end of night deals for the locals to swing over. Following an appointment I had in the area, I venture for a drive down Middle Neck Road to find myself at the impressive Marie Blachere. The parking lot is shared with a Capital One Bank branch, so be careful when securing a parking spot. I placed my order for an egg, cheese and turkey bacon croissant, coffee, and a pain de chocolat via the Toast app. I walked inside and saw a table with A-G, H-M, N-R, S-Z. There were bags with orders placed near the appropriate letter. Mine was not there, so I took a moment to peruse their selection and was surprised to see the large selection. There were three other patrons inside, and floor markers and line stanchions helped them maintain a safe distance while waiting their turn. The glass case protects hundreds of croissants, breads, and a small selection of pastries. After the other three people selected, paid, and left, someone asked me if I needed help. I told her I had a mobile order and she went to look for it. She came back a short time later and handed me a bag with my items and the cup of coffee. They have stevia at their "fixing" station, something I hold as high on my list of "asks"--many places don't have it! One glitch was that the egg, cheese and turkey bacon croissant was cold. Apparently you have to ask for it to be heated. The Toast app didn't say this nor did it allow for requesting it. I returned inside and asked for it to be heated, which they happily did. It was delicious, which is hard to accomplish with turkey bacon. As for the chocolate croissant, it was flaky and fresh with a perfect rod of fresh dark chocolate peeking out from within. I will definitely be back, and highly recommend your visiting if in the area. And after you enjoy something to eat there, take a stroll in the area to patronize some small businesses that are in desperate need of our help. read more

In the heart of Great Neck NY is Blachere Sandwiches across the street from the Firehouse. (see pix) Narrow streets and a U turn if heading North as the street after has a Dunkins. The cost is not to expensive and there were young people there getting snacks or sandwiches. Its not a gourmet place. It does have tables to eat at. The Baguette I got had chicken and cheese. (see pix) not much at that. Here's the thing-server Rose asked if I wanted it heated on the Panini Press. I said yes heat it on the Panini Press. I also ordered a croissant with egg and a brioche muffin. At the back of the store is the register to pay. She put 2 items in the bag and asked if there was anything else. I said yes the third item. Where is the other sandwich? Hey a good come back um- oh it has to be heated. She grabs a wrapped one and throws it in the microwave briefly and then into the bag. So much for the Panini Press, (see pix) The muffin was of yellow brioche with salt and chocolate chips on top. It also had a bit of an after taste once eaten. Décor had a touch of Fall with a mini pumpkin on the Coffee machine. There is a sign- Line starts here, near the counter, and out side the side door by the parking lot a sigh that says Breakfast Special $4.95, I saw a rather large container on the floor and asked what it was. Once the translation was clear from the other worker Rose said it was a humidifier. I asked it it added or was a dehumidifier. Apparently it get very humid in there.
