This was not the worst food I ever had but it was pretty close to it. Very sad. My husband had the driest enchiladas in the world. I had a cold, salty, soggy burrito. We also had $8 nachos which were very stale. The nachos came in a tin foil container covered with lettuce and a couple teaspoons of chopped tomatoes. Then that was topped with a quarter cup of sour cream. I'm guessing that's what made it supreme, for an extra $2. Overall very disappointing. Save your money. You would be a thousand percent better off going to Taco Bell. read more

Food is great. Service is terrible. Yes, this is during Covid. But this has happened several times over the past few years. Ordered food, was told 10-15 minutes for pick up. My wife got there 25 minutes from the time of order. They took her money, then the little guy at the counter liked to disappear. At the 1 hour mark, I called the restaurant , while my wife was still waiting for the food in their lobby. I spoke to the same lady who took my order , I said that an hour wait is a little ridiculous when you have only 5 occupied tables. My wife is still sitting there and we don't have food yet. She said I'm terribly sorry sir and brought food to my wife, 1 minute later. We received a refund, but we're done with this place. read more

EXCELLENT Tex-Mex! The place is tucked away in the right-hand corner next to the Publix on the corner of Auburn Rd and Fence. So it can be missed, but it shouldn't. Make a point to visit this place. The food is excellent. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very efficient and friendly. Anyone who maybe had a disappointing visit should give this place another try. Amazing food, get the brisket on anything, tacos, chimichanga, nachos, you can't go wrong! Also, Marias guacamole is really delicious and unique with chunks of mango and cheese in it. Awesome Mexican food. My favorite dish is Arroz con Pollo. It's a plate of Mexican rice with Chicken. It has cheese dip and avocado on top.

Wish I could give this place half a star. Formerly Ranchero's and now Maria's Tex Mex, this establishment has serious problems. Let me start out by saying my wife and I were regulars when it was Ranchero's. They closed for renovation for over a month and just re-opened. First impression...they should have stayed closed. The menu is now very limited and prices have gone up, which would be ok if the food was good, but it is far from good. Taco Bell has tastier food. Out daughter mentioned that her school lunch tastes better. First off, I ordered water to drink and it had a funny taste to it ( how do you mess up water? ). When the actual food came out, the portions were smaller than they were previously when it was Ranchero's. The food was cold and without any discernible flavor. The chips that were given to us before the meal were stale and were broken into such small pieces that you literally had crumbs to pick from. The waitress got the order wrong for my wife and daughter, and it wasn't like they were busy, we were the only patrons in there. The floor was sticky and they were playing what I would describe as soft porn on the television sets in the area we were seated, hardly appropriate for a family establishment. Needless to say we will not be back, which is sad since this used to be our favorite lunch spot. My advice to management would be close down again, re-train and re-think the menu/prices. My advice to would be patrons would be seek your meal elsewhere and avoid this place. read more

I would love to give you five stars, except my meal was thrown together and did not look advertising-I guess that is what I get from ordering take-out. I read the other reviews and thought this was a good place, or did I catch them on a bad day? My chicken looked like a flat piece of wood, and the steak and shrimp were good. However, I have never seen chicken that flat and dry. The nachos that I ordered could have looked more advertising-presentation is everything, especially if you want a repeat customer. I could have chopped this up to an off day-everyone has them, but the girl in front did not have much patience. It was my first time visiting, and I was asked, "Have you made a decision yet" with a little attitude. My order was not handed to me but laid on the seat-"that's your order, I was told. Yeah, I was the only one waiting. I wouldn't say I like writing reviews, but I decided to write this one and ask this restaurant to treat your customers better, or maybe I'm the only one with this experience. Awesome chicken fajita quesadillas. The 20oz Texas Margaritas are to die for!!! The waitress "Elena" is beautiful and very fast and kind!!! Then there's : La "Rey"!!! BEAUTIFUL AND KNOWS HIS STUFF!! Updated today Friday 2/22/2019 sat for 10 minutes at the bar and not one person acknowledged us for a drink... we got chips and salsa but kinda hard to wash it down without a drink..... leaving previous review below.... very disappointed tonight as we loved this place. We left and went down the street to try a new place which may be our permanent causing Maria's to lose out business. You never open the door for your competition..... For anyone who understands good Mexican Food, please do not read the prior reviews. This is a gem! We moved here a little over a month ago and have not tried it because of prior reviews and I am mad at myself. Honestly, the bad reviews are probably people with no patience and no palette for good food. My wife and I had the Puntas Aztecas and the Tampiqueno! It was some of the best food we have had since moving to Georgia. The Modelo on tap was cold, fresh and the bar is clean. The staff is very friendly as well. I seriously have a hard time finding fault in anything that happened tonight. The flavors of spice in the Aztecas was awesome. It's a hot dish, but not too hot. Leaves you wanting more. The Tampiquena was also seasoned to perfection. Hats off to the staff and management. Hope more people will give it a shot and order off the Meicanisimos side of the menu. Try something different... Love this place. I've been here once a year ago for lunch but never for dinner. The atmosphere is nice. They had Tim Bowers playing guitar on a Saturday night and he is awesome. Our server was very accommodating but not crowding which I prefer. I had a burrito it was seasoned to perfection and piping hot. Maria's catered my company luncheon this week. I told them it was to start at noon. I have organized luncheons before, and every other place I have set up with did not arrive until the planned time of the event. Because of this I had told the employee I work with 12:15. But Maria's arrived 20 minuets earlier than noon so they actually had time to set up! We ended up eating at 12 on the nose! We had their chicken taco bar. The food was the best our company has ever had brought in. It was fresh and tasty! The people who came to set up were professional and courteous, and helped make it an all around great experience. They set up the bar and asked me when would be a good time to come back and break it down. They arrived back at the exact time and cleaned up like a dream. read more

I have traveled all over this great country and I have not found a place that fuses truly authentic Mexican traditional dishes with an array of delicious Tex Mex options. Maria's is far far beyond any other previous restaurants located on that same place. There are so many great options to eat in this city, however; I know that the joy I experienced after eating at Maria's today will pull me back time after time after time. We live locally and are glad that this restaurant is open again. As with any new restaurant, I am pleased that they did not get overly aggressive with offering too many choices out of the gate. The menu is diverse enough to satisfy everyone. I had the brisket in a burrito and it was great. Spoke to the owner and they slow cook it to perfection. We sat at the bar but from what I could see the staff was attentive and got the food out in good time. Our bartender was engaging and suggested a tequila liquor that was the right mix for sipping after the meal. I am extremely pleased that this is so close to home. Will be coming here a lot more than when it was all the other restaurants that have occupied this space. And YES I am a real customer...... read more
