I was just there to grab lunch, kind of disappointed. The pictures they advertised looks like nothing you actually get. The first thing she said to us was " Our prices went up " we're like OKAY! To us it doesn't matter as long as the food is good! We ordered 2 corn in a cup and pork quesadilla, it was almost 40 dollars! It was just okay and the presentation of the food was not anything we expected. It just looked sloppy like it was just thrown in there. The place is nice and clean, we were the only ones in there and took about 30 mins for our take out order to be ready. I don't think we'll be coming here again. Good to try but not up come back again.

My first time trying Maria's and most of the items I ordered were pretty good. It's definitely an authentic restaurant, but I'd love it if they kicked it up a notch with some of the seasonings (But this IS South Jersey and NOT South of The Border, so you REALLY do have to cater to the folks living in this area...lol). The stand out menu item that I ordered was the "Heavy Burrito" with Spicy Chicken. It lives up to its name! It's HUGE! Plenty of rice and chicken and tastes good, but again I'd love it even more if it were a bit more spicy. I take Nexium, so bring on the spicy foods, baby!! LOL! This burrito probably could have fed 2 people, but I wasn't sharing, nope!! My 2nd favorite item was the Plantains! Oooh wee!! Served warm with a very tasty glaze - Absolutely delicious and mouthwatering! Definitely get this if you go there, in fact order 4 or 5 of them!! The Mexican rice - 8 ounce side dish was cooked well ..just a wee bit more seasonings would have made it superb. The Chicken Flautas were cooked well.. 4 of them per order. But more chicken inside would have been better. One bite and I yanked out almost the entire piece of chicken from the flautas! The taste was good though. I probably won't order this item again.

Loved our meal. The complimentary chips came with delicious and large bowls of red and green salsa. Our chicken nachos were so tasty. I chose carnitas tacos with all the fixings. The restaurant was clean and tastefully decorated. My only complaint was the paper menus were handed to us with a casual remark that the prices were not updated. Yikes. When the bill arrived, we realized the prices were at least $5 more per item. Be prepared to ask for the actual price.

Located in a low-key plaza that's kind of tucked away. Server didn't seem like she was having a great day but still provided solid service. Ordered a torta, tacos and burrito to share between me and my girlfriend. Definitely way too much food for the two of us, we probably would have been fine not ordering the torta altogether, but I'm glad I did. The torta is huge, and everything we ordered was pretty generously portioned. It s a bit pricier than some other places but not by too much. Everything was really good.

Al Pastor-filled Super Burrito - It was bigger than my head, but thankfully not my stomach!

The building was empty when I was there, but I'd bet that it probably gains a good few groups later in the day. Walking in, I immediately adored the Dia de los Muertos paintings everywhere, and the server was helpful in explaining differences between Hispanic food terms. The digital QR code menu was a bit of a hassle (I'm not fond of things that are overly techy where they don't need to be), but I ended up finding a good Super Burrito, with shredded pork as the chosen protein. The TV in the corner was playing some little YouTube comedy videos, so that made waiting a smidge easier, but in all honesty, food came out very quick anyway. Good, because the smell of it cooking was driving me crazy! My GOD though, it really was a SUPER burrito -- It didn't need sides, everything you'd ever want was already stuffed inside. My hands could barely hold it as I lifted it to take a bite (How can anyone eat this properly?! Maybe upside-down...), and after about 20 minutes of acceptably slovenly behavior, it was a clean plate. Their Tortas were just as big, and stuffed to the brim with various meats, lettuce, cheese, and beans... but I'll admit that I still personally enjoy ones from my favorite food trucks moreso. 10/10 regardless, I'll absolutely make this an occasional lunch location! Even if it's just slipping in to grab something before heading to work.

Please get some help ( another server maybe). The food is excellent the only problem is the service, the two waitresses were nice but they were overwhelmed, restaurant was almost full and the waitress were taking orders, bussing tables, running dishes and doing takeout orders which is a lot for two people therefore food was brought to our table in parts, taking too long, food getting cold. I enjoyed very much the food and I want to give a try again but please try to have someone dedicated to takeout order so this ladies can focus in the dining room.

Food was !! Everything was excellent! Our new favorite go to Mexican restaurant!! We started off with nachos. Flautas and queso fundido. The fundido was probably the best I had. My wife had the corn, which was out of this world. My heavy burrito was phenomenal so big and packed with chicken cheese rice all the goodies. my kids had about 18 tacos and the sampler finished dinner off with the churros and ice cream which was delightful.

Homemade, and I mean homemade, and delicious caramel flan for dessert. One slice serves 2!

FIVE STAR reviews are the best, and so are Maria's mixed grill fajitas. I have had fajitas up and down the east coast. I feel bad that my buddy in DC could not be here with us to enjoy them, but my wife and I braved on without him. (Sorry, T.) Fajita plates should be sizzling hot and full of grilled meats and vegetables, and mine was. The veggies had a nice char on them and the meats were fresh, tender, and abundant. First up, though, was the bean covered tortilla basket. Not a lot of chips, but just enough with refried beans that were so tasty, I could eat a bowl of them as an entire meal. My wife enjoyed every bit of the guacamole and the...I don't know what it was...but it disappeared from the plate. (I am told it was the Bistek Asado Guarache.) My fajitas came with a delicate, homemade Mexican rice that lacked the lame peas and carrots so may places put in their rice. And, like the beans, the rice could be eaten as an entre. Please don't make me describe the homemade flan. One look at the attached photo says everything you need to know. All-in-all, Maria's Mexican Restaurant is a little, hidden gem of a place that will leave you full, satisfied, and happy. We cannot wait for our next visit!

Visiting from georgia. Incredible food. Very authentic. Chips come with beans and cheese on them with two kinds of salsa(green is my favorite and it was amazing). We ordered the molcajete and elote. We took plenty of leftovers and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Very friendly staff. **new prices for the menu so don't be surprised by the price. Very worth it though.

    Enchiladas verdes suizas, delicious.

Are there menu items that are gluten free if I remove the flour tortillas?

I'm not on any sort of gluten free diet or whatever, BUT they do offer corn tortillas instead of flour type tortillas. From what I've read, corn is gluten free in its natural form. Call the restaurant to be 100% sure though.

Is it BYOB and if so will they make margaritas if you bring tequila?

Yes it is BYOB, not sure if they make Margaritas.

Human beings are funny that way. So for Father's Day, my wife booked a table for six at Mount Masala in Voorhees. This turned out to be an act of touching optimism. When we arrived on a Saturday night, only three other tables were occupied. We could have brought a small marching band and sat immediately. Still, the staff was warm, the room was pleasant, and we decided to order family style. Civilization occasionally gets things right. The sizzling chicken momo arrived first, hissing and steaming like a diva. Sadly, the spectacle outperformed the substance; it was essentially good food wearing a sequined jacket. The chicken tikka momo, however, was outstanding. They were tender dumplings smothered in a sweet, familiar tikka sauce that my boys attacked with an enthusiasm usually reserved for free money. My youngest ordered the chicken makai soup and delivered a concise, pro-level critique: "It's fine." My oldest enjoyed his tofu Manchurian, though his eyes kept wandering to better plates. The beef skinny noodles and chicken Hakku Bakku chowmein were massive and well-made, but they lacked personality. The chowmein tasted like a very good lo mein. Nothing wrong with that, just predictable. The undisputed star was the chicken choyla. It was smoky, spicy, and rich with mustard oil. If the other dishes were polite small talk, the choyla was the eccentric guest telling stories nobody had ever heard before. Everyone at the table kept reaching for it. As for the service, the staff was incredibly friendly but possessed a unique talent for vanishing. Despite the empty room, refilling water and securing extra napkins became a minor side-quest. But then the bill arrived: $120 for six people. These days, taking the family out can feel like financing a small yacht, so this felt like a genuine bargain. Mount Masala isn't perfect, but it's memorable. The choyla and the tikka momos gave me exactly what I've been hunting for: flavors that are unfamiliar, exciting, and well worth getting to know.
