Last week it was but one get one free on Fannie May boxed chocolates. Now there's no price! Strange! - Stacks of Fannie May chocolate boxes are displayed on wooden pallets in a retail store. The boxes feature images of chocolates and festive ribbon designs, with some boxes labeled 'Mint Meltaways' and others with a different chocolate variety. The display is organized with boxes arranged in rows and columns, and the background shows a plain wall and partition panels.

DON'T SHOP AT THIS WORTHLESS 2nd Most Expensive Grocery CHAIN (owned by cheapskates Kroger!) NOTE:! A year ago they WERE my favorite foods from all sides of God's green Earth! (What a difference A year makes! All the Good Millennials have moved on--and probably for good reason!--all the utter Nastiest remain!). Just last week I heard a manager openly say, "Where the F***! are those 2 girls!" So! Foul-mouth Miss! This is how you really feel about your underlings! And you say this loud and proud DIS to 2 others on your team! LIVE in front of a long time customer (My family always insisted on certain items over the last 5 years from this chain). So, Today I decided I would see if there was a snow-balls chance in Hell reason that I should continue to patronize the now constantly in decline train-wreck! Called Mariano's! And my Resounding Answer is NO! Or as the the saying goes! NEVER AGAIN! The only thing I found in the whole entire store was the $6.99! Half gallon of freshly squeezed Orange Juice! (To think I used to buy $400 at one time and now I couldn't even break $10! How utterly pathetic of the Chain that was once poisoned to take over Target! (But Kroger lacks the brains, common sense, and simple investments that could propel them above Target! Instead, Mariano's is literally being flushed down the toilet!). So, here's everything that went SOUTH of HEAVEN for Mariano's today! 1) ROTTEN FOOD! I was stunned! Every one of the reduced packages of cherry tomatoes was rotten! (See pictures below!). Up to this point every thing on the reduced fruit and vegetable end cap was just a little old or bruised! But not rotten! The last thing I wanted to do was eat something rotten and get sick! 2) The continued overuse and deception of supposedly lower prices with the use of DIGITAL COUPONS! (No employee has ever taken the time to register me for DIGITAL COUPONS!). And even with them MARIANO's is still twice as expensive on black cherries as the Mexican Fruit Market! (See pictures below)! 3). Once again I use self-checkout! There are 6 bays! And all the employees are busy talking with each other instead of potentially acting proactively to help customers! (See pictures of the bays without an employee in sight!). (Too bad the best millennial, and Mariano's employee they ever had! A fine Hispanic woman! She helped me a record 6 times at the self-checkout! Without my even asking! Then I found out how dedicated to family that she truly was! She left for Mexico to take care of her ailing grandmother! God if I could give her $100 tip I would! I hope she becomes a nurse! She deserves to make $80K! But those days are gone! Now they are down the tubes!

A grocery store interior features a refrigerated display case containing pre-packaged salads in plastic containers. The case has a sign advertising Kroger salad bowls, with a promotion of 3 for $10. In the background, shoppers are browsing produce and other grocery items, with store signage and shelves visible. The store has a high ceiling with exposed beams and track lighting.

I go to the Mariano's few times a week because it is convenient and has very good quality produce and anything I usually need for food. I've had nothing but great experiences here! One sale-girl from the deli is so delightful!  I've been doing instant cart and some of the males that work on the floor that stock the shelves always ask me if I need help finding something! That's amazing customer service. There's a really young Caucasian male and another man who I thought was his manager that deserve a raise for working so hard! The men behind the meat counter are so sweet also. I've never ever had a bad experience here. It's my favorite grocery store!!!! Even the cashiers and baggers are friendly. There was a young lady that even helped me push a cart overflowing with groceries to my car. I wanted to give her a tip for helping me. That was so caring! I had 2 carts full of groceries and she saw I was struggling! They should be allowed to accept tips for their hard work and/or get a raise! The produce section is heaven if you like a variety of fresh, quality fruits and vegetables!!!  All else is that of a typical grocery store. A variety of different cuisines and styles of food spices, ingredients and seasonings can be found. The prices are good and everyone working there is nice. Weekends it might be busy and harder to find a spot to park, but one will open up. There is also a nice sized bike rack at the front of the the parking lot. Our bagger threw apricots and figs in with boxes of oatmeal so they got crushed and the only reason I couldn't give them 5 stars.

We went on a Sunday evening and it was no where near closing time. The cooked food and produce sections looked pathetic. Everything was out of stock. The service is not like other Mariano's either. The cashier was not friendly. At the seafood counter, the employee behind the counter was no where to be found. There was a customer waiting at least 5 minutes before someone showed up to get him some shrimp.

Just a sample of their job , beside the bad attitude that that have - A whole fish has been grilled and is resting on crumpled aluminum foil. The fish has visible grill marks and some areas of charring, indicating it was cooked over an open flame or grill. The fish appears to be seasoned or glazed, with some juices or sauce on its surface. The foil is slightly wrinkled and has some drips from the cooking process.

Absolutely the worst in customer service, 9 people in line at meat counter. And two employees behind the counter on their cells.

I'm not sure why I couldn't pay for my cart full of groceries with cash instead, maybe the "cash system" was down too. The woman rebooting the machines said that it was finishing and about to be ready, so I, first in my line, started to walk to an open self-checkout. I was stopped and told that there was a different line (like the one that I was at the start of) and to go to the end of the other line. Behind all of the other people that I told about the credit card machine problem as they walked up minutes ago (they weren't telling people what was happening) and the people actively joining the line. After shopping and waiting for their busted machines, I couldn't wait another 20 minutes to check out behind at least 10 other customers, so I was unable to shop there. I will return to Aldi, but never this disorganized, messy location with untrained, bratty employees. I hope you do the same.

This Food4Less location just happened to be one of the nearest to me at the time while out in Melrose Park. As for this visit, I nearly had to circle around to find a parking spot to park my vehicle because the parking lot itself was congested the time I visited. The atmosphere inside felt very relaxed, a very chill vibe for sure! Other than that, I must say that it was a break shopping here in comparison to a Jewel-Osco, Pete's Fresh Market, or Mariano's location. Now along with the shelved items being organized, the market is acceptably clean, and the aisles have plenty of maneuvering space. Moreover, this Food4Less location has a very warehouse-like appearance. I particularly searched for the items I visited for like the box of Jimmy Dean Plant-Based Patty, Egg & Cheese Croissant Sandwiches, and Boost nutrition drinks which I found without any assistance needed. Other shelved items I took a liking to were a box of limited-edition throwback of pop tarts, a box of Jimmy Dean Plant-Based Crumbles, and a 12 fl oz of ez night sleep which I was shocked at its price. For the most part, I enjoyed shopping at Food4Less, but I just cannot see myself shopping at this particular location on a regular basis due to it being out of my way. However, I have noted the nearest location to me on the west-side of Chicago which happens to be in the Austin neighborhood. ~Best believe it, hunny!. ~ Thomas G

First the pros: the place is close to my job, so I can run there with not too much effort. The store itself is clean and the aisles are wide (have to be in order to use those big ass carts that they have). It is a self serve store from the perspective that you have to bag your own groceries, but they do provide plastic bags. Not sure if they are provided at all of their locations, but found it interesting that they are still using bags and not charging fo them. They really have some nice looking produce for the most part, but gotta say that I have yet to find any decent cherry tomatoes. They always look soggy and you can see moisture at the bottom of the containers. Their baked goods are also nice...good solid selection of cookies, donuts and pastries. I have actually ordered party trays from their Deli and they do a good job. Because there is a large Hispanic population in the area, they carry some great food products that I have not seen in the stores in my neighborhood. One brand in particular is Deal Real prepared meats, rice and beans...makes for a quick and easy meal and is flavorful. They make a great quick meal (chicken, barbacoa, pork (carnitas and asada) and steak). They even have prepared guacamole if you do not feel like making it fresh. Nice selection of beer, wine and some sparkling wines. The downside is that some of the prices for wine are what I would pay at Jewel or even more. Also customer service can be lacking, depending on who you are dealing with...it is hit or miss. My biggest complaint is not the people who work there, but the people who shop there. The store itself is quick to get to and easy to get your stuff and get in line. Getting out of line is the issue. Some of the folks are very slow when it comes to emptying their groceries onto the conveyor belt, paying for them and (Sweet Black Baby Jesus help us all) bagging their groceries at the end of a transaction. That is the biggest hold up. I have no problem bagging my own stuff, but I am way quicker at doing it as I use my Mariano's containers to do so. Watching folks put one thing at a time into a bag while talking on the phone has made me come close to committing a felony several times. Ending on a positive note, they do open early (6 a.m.), so I try to schedule trips in the morning before heading into the office. Not a terrible experience, just be careful of the prices. Watched a woman get a shock when the cashier told her that she owed $152. 02. Food 4 Less for the following week I imagine.
