This Tony's Fresh Market had great Puerto Rican rice that I really enjoyed. I got their Puerto Rican rice multiple times. The store was clean and well organized. It looked like they typically had excellent fresh produce. They had good variety and a lot of items I was looking for. They have hot food available, I got their chicken wings multiple times as well as other items that I enjoyed. They have self-checkout kiosks available, which were convenient. read more

Service at meat counter was terrible! Time approximately 7-730 pm on 01/23/25. Nobody at counter except myself. Nobody waiting. Worker walked past me 5 times without acknowledging me. Parking sucks now that they moved from the North Riverside location. Its not bad if you shop during non peak hours. My only complaint is to offer more handicap parking because my mom can never find one available. The produce is fresh and the prices are just right. I love the variety of fruits and veggies. The way the produce is organized is appealing to they eye. The deli counter has a variety of cold cuts, cheeses, sausages, salads, and side dishes to choose from. Service is friendly and I appreciate that they ask how you thin or thick you want your deli sliced. Their international aisle and froze aisle, is pretty impressive. I can usually find last minute Asian ingredients if I don't have time to run to the Asian Market. Meat department has so many choices of sea food, meat, chicken, and pork in different cuts. My family has been shopping at this Tony's location (Cermak in Berwyn) for many years. On 4/30/2023, Maria A. was incredibly rude and disrespectful. I had two orders, mine and my mother's. While standing in line, I've watched her bag everyone's groceries after the purchase was completed. She had the audacity to ask me to finish bagging my groceries after I paid. I am all for keeping folks employed but if Maria is incapable of doing her job, perhaps the store is better off with another self check out lane instead. It is disrespectful to expect a customer to do an employee's job. I have never experienced this at the Tony's location in Oakbrook which is now my preferred location. read more

Tonys hot bar is amazing. They have a broad selection and in many ways its the go to grocery in the area. Sadly however navigating the store is a nightmare, and thats by design. Have you ever bought eggs in an interior aisle? Frozen breakfast items outer wall past dairy. Why? To make you double back. Bottled water and soda on one aisle but peligrino in a different section? Double back... Theres oj (interior aisle next to eggs which is like a traffic jam again by design) but in another area is their own fresh squeezed oj. They have great mango salsa but its not in stock today sorry. So yeah the crowd is playing asteroids in the aisle and its always crowded. I decided to go with my Nona for her weekly grocery shopping when I was visiting Illinois for a trip. Maybe I'm easily impressed but I thought this was a top notch grocery store! Located in riverside by the mall, I felt like this place had everything! The staff was very friendly offering a cart or if they could point you in the right direction of something. Such a huge selection of everything you could Possibly want. The produce, deli, bakery, fish market and everything in between left nothing to be desired! I don't see how you could necessarily leave missing anything at this place Not just food, but a lot of other basic necessities can be purchased at Tony's as well I had to remind myself that I had a long car ride after my trip and wasn't grocery shopping myself. We use to love Tony's. It use to be across the street and was much better then. In the last couple years after they moved, they really went down hill. I think when they first moved in they had competition. Jewel was right in front of them and a local shop across the street but today, they are all gone. So now Tony's is the only store in the area. And that seems to have gone to their heads. They use to be great. Always the best selection of fruits and vegetables. A large meat market. Mexican and other foreign food isles. Decent prices. But in the last couple years, not so much. The fruits and veggies are hit or miss now usually under ripe or rotten. The meat market has a terrible smell all the time now and meats look fake red or edge of rotting. Foreign food isles are still decent is the only good they have going still. The other big issue we've seen since they opened til today is that we're getting way more expired food than ever. The packaging clearly shows a fresh by dates, they are way over on so many items. The worse thing we've seen lately is that some expiration dates have been removed!!! Seriously, you can see the stamp marking wiped or smeared. One food item was so old we called the maker and asked if they could tell us what was wrong with it. They asked for a series of numbers on the package and they told us it was over a year old. One annoying thing with Tony's is sale items. BEWARE! Check your receipt before you leave the store. Or better yet, if you can, watch what they ring up as they scan the items. Half the time they don't ring up the sale price at the register and you have to call them out on it. The other half of the time you have to read the fine print of the sale. Usually its such a ridiculous amount of product you need to buy (5 or more) to get that sale price, you might as well as be shopping at COSTCO. The final problem is pricing. We feel like they are taking advantage of the pandemic and over charging for things that are common and ready in stock. Some items have Tony's price tags over the manufactures price! Remember when RC was just .99. It still is. At every other grocery store in the area but Tonys. Check your bags of chips because the same applies. It's too bad because we really wanted to keep supporting this store. We have been for years. They had a name and high reputation for so long, but now reading this other reviews, seems they are going down hill. Tony's better wake up because a brand new store is being built across the street and I bet they will be more competitive than you think both in freshness and pricing. read more

Great deals but I was appalled by the way they treat their employees. Witnessed a male manager tell a middle aged woman that she needed to hurry up because the line to replace her was around the block. I asked a few employees about their treatment and that seemed to be the norm. The owners of Tony's have zero loyalty to long time employees and expect them to move at 60, the same way they moved when they started with the company. I have zero tolerance for worker abuse. If you need variety's of fruits and vegetable you can get them at best price and most importantly FRESH at Tony's Fresh Market. I love this location. Clean store, solid international selections. Produce in good condition. Checkout lines I felt were a little long and moving slow. However a new line opened. Would have been nice to hand pull the next person in line instead of a free for all with everyone charging all at once. And I prefer store opening time before it gets busy in the afternoon/evening. read more

I've been a loyal customer for years but no more. Today was the last straw. They have promotions such as "save $10 when you buy 5 mix and match" items and I always carefully select items that comply but the employees bend over backwards to find a reason to disqualify your purchase from the deal. This happens virtually every time I visit. Then they send you to customer service to plead your case but there is seldom anyone working there. Also, very few of the employees on the sales floor even speak English. At all. And it's almost impossible to earn their "rewards" because the points expire before you can accumulate enough to earn even a measly 10% off $50 purchase. I'm done. read more

Most of the sales are now made using digital coupon. Does this store realize the large poplulation of Seniors in the area only use flip phones? Most other stores acknowledge this and allow customers to go to service desk and make purchases without digital coupon. This store totally refuses to do this. No matter what day or time you come into Tony's it is always jam packed. The checkout lane is always long. The aisles are pretty tight to get through. So, don't get upset if you get bumped around a bit. No one says excuse me. It's every man or woman for themselves up in this place. The worker's are so busy stocking products that they don't have time to help you find anything. Even if you ask them where is aisle for canned goods? they will have a puzzle look on their faces. So, it's best if you located each aisle yourself and break up front to check out. The prices are a bit over the top read more

Most grocery stores are WACK! This store is definitely not the norm! I came in because I was in the area and needed to shop. The store was huge & clean & fully stocked. The associates were also very friendly. The store didn't stink, and the meat was fresh. When I'm shopping for meat I'll definitely be coming to this location. One of the higher quality grocery stores in the Forest Park/Berywn area. It is comparable to Pete's Fresh Market, although there are pros/cons for each. I think Tony's pricing is cheaper than Walmart or Living Fresh Market but more expensive than Aldi. It has so many international/ethnic finds that makes it the top of my list for finding Asian ingredients in this area. I no longer have to go to Argyle or Chinatown to find Asian produce or non-perishables. The biggest contender for me is Pete's Fresh Market in Oak Park, which has been historically my favorite local grocery store. It makes the most sense to compare the two. Pete's has fresher produce, a wider range of American staples, some international goods but not as many as Tony's, and a phenomenal deli/hot foods section. Also, their seafood/meat section is super fresh and organized. All of this for maybe a slightly more expensive price than Pete's. Tony's has the international aspect, location near Forest Park, and cheaper prices than Pete's. Otherwise, their hot foods section is not the best, and the wait time at the seafood/meat section is very inefficient. I took a number and was waiting forever, and they just didn't go by number order. Otherwise, it's my go-to for good produce sales and Asian goods. read more

I went here for the salad bar and left disappointed! I was jonesing for a salad and had seen on a previous visit they had quite the set up. The cold salad bar was okay, the had 4 leafy greens to chose from, my problem was the grape tomato and cucumber slices were in small trays in the center of the table. I had to climb under the sneeze barrier to get at them. Pull them out and then put back. Small problem. I was also getting some wings with a couple sides. They were all pretty much room temperature. They did have one table of Hispanic selections. None of which looked fresh. I'd probably go back, just with lower expectations! read more

I love this place! Like a Walmart in that it's cheap but better produce. Like a Trader Joe's but better international options. They have a huge produce section and everything is fresh and well priced! I spent $45 on items that would have definitely costed at least $60 at Walmart. Staff here is super sweet too, I was looking for bean sprouts and the staff I asked stopped what he was doing and quickly got me the amount of bean sprouts I needed rather than just telling me where they were. This will be my go to place. But I will still be going to Walmart for house needs and such. read more

Tony's "Super" grocery store clearly beats their other locations. I hope their new Countryside location on Joliet road (prior Dominick's) turns out like this one. The freshness and unique assortment of produce is better than most grocery stores in the Chicago area with exception to some of the new larger Mariano's. While I was waiting for my number to be called for my deli picks there was a store employee handing out free samples of fresh hot soup. I tried a couple of them but my favorite was the potato with bacon. The deli had some great sales including name brand meat and cheese along with a number of Tony's branded items. The deli employee who was assisting me was very careful to ask what thickness I liked each item and brought a sample over to approve before completing the order. Great personal details. I found the fresh fish department to be amazing. No fishy smell, full sized fish length filets, and fish steaks cut to your desired thickness. Impressive. The bakery section had a huge variety of items. Many pastries were $.79 each for small and $1.49 each for large. The assortment of at least twelve cannoli was very inventive and sold by the pound. I ended up with a few small pastries and two large eclairs. The richness and freshness were great across the board. I couldn't do a review of this store and not include the two aisles of international products. The aisles are long and have national flags hanging over them. While there are large sections of Spanish, Italian, and UK products I was impressed with the decent selection of Indian and Middle Eastern products. The bakery bread and traditional plastic covered loaves areas seemed smaller than normal and it's clear bread isn't one of their focus areas. The parking lot was full of ads blowing all over and most of the carts had a used ad in them. Some focus needs to be paid to carts and parking lot cleanliness. read more

Tony's is a star in the neighborhood for ethnic food choices and lots of fresh fruits and veggies. Organic if you want it. They have a good seafood selection and meat and poultry, too. From odd chicken leg bags-super cheap to Amish chickens and name brand cutlets. Great selection. Three stars is for the lack of cleanliness! Outside to inside, the management needs a plan to keep this otherwise great place clean! Checkout conveyors make clean packaging wet or grimy just on the belt. Yuk. Makes my food choices much less appetizing. Blah. So I went this morning, and at 10:00 am on a Friday, the produce is looking decent and staff is friendly, but the floors are dirty from yesterday and the rugs have not been vacuumed. The outside has cigarette butts to plastic bags and lots of flyers stuck to the cement and surrounding the cart collecting locations. Come on! We need you in the neighborhood. Start showing some attention to these things! Shall I go on? Meat cases sparkle and fresh bakery choices are always fun for a treat...but don't look on the floor below the dairy cases or milk racks!!! I was in a rush and I had to do a quick grocery shopping because my friends are coming over. I decided to go to Tony's Fresh Market because it is near my place. I easily parked my car and I am glad of it. I was surprised when I got inside because there were a lot of people and did not worry about it cause they observe proper social distancing. I observed that the place is very clean and organize. Then I started to buy ingredients for the dishes that I will cook for my friends. I am thinking of cooking Asian foods and I am glad that it is available in there so I decided to pick some pork, beef some seafood that really looks so fresh. I also pick various sushi that also looks really good. I also choose some of their fresh veggies and tried some of their baked goods that taste incredibly good. I got everything I wanted so I head to the cashier and since the store is a bit crowded the line was so long that I had to patiently wait for about 20 minutes, good thing is that the prices of everything I bought is cheaper than others. read more

I was at your Tony's location 7111 Cermak and I had the worst experience with your cashier year Cristina, who lacks customer service and was extremely rude and combative with me, all because I asked Cristina, why was the line being held up and she copped an attitude with me and told me that she's waiting for a customer to come back, so I told her that she didn't have to be, so rude about it and I said to her as a customer I have a right to ask a question. Cristina started arguing with me and wouldn't stop and held the line up by proceeding to argue with me, at that point I asked her to call her manager, Cristina laughed and said sure I don't have a problem with calling my manager over, Christina called  the manager over Beahlriz and before I could even explain to the manager what happened, Cristina interrupted me while I was trying to explain what happened, so I allowed her to speak to the manager and tell her side of the story once I was done she still kept interrupting me and wouldn't allow me to explain what happened, the manager apologized and Cristina got upset and refused to wait on me, so her manager Bealriz waited on me instead. I have never been to an establishment where  a cashier conducted themselves  in that manner. I also want to add this the salmon I purchased smelled rotte. I wo be returning to Tony's. the FDA needs to come and do an inspection, I'm sure they'll find a lot of health code violations. read more

I love going to Tony's. They have everything I need. I love the deli and the fact that they have Boar's Head meats. I love their produce selection and how diverse it is. I recently discovered Jack Fruit here. Had never tasted it before and would never have seen it at Cermak Produce. They have a bakery here and they bake their own breads. They also have a lot of cakes and cookies. Parking is easy to find. They always have good specials. I also like that they have an Asian grocery section, a section of Italian foods and a section of Latin foods. Whenever I'm feeling adventurous, I always go to one of these sections and pick a random thing to try. read more

Went there because of a friend's recommendation. What a disappointment...while I was only the 2nd person in line at the deli, it took a long time for a worker to get to me. (There were many ppl working organizing stuff, it seemed, but none asked what i needed until the customer in front of me completed her shopping.) Great location, clean, and very friendly workers, the staff is awesome! Each time I have been in there the cashiers never fail to ask me how my day is and create friendly conversation. You truly get the "fresh" vibe not only in the produce but the entire atmosphere, food and products. Great place! Love this location!!
