This is definitely my favorite grocery store. Their prices are very competitive with the market and I often find their prices to be better than any one else. Their deli, butcher, and bakery are by far the best in the area. Management does a great job keeping the store looking clean and fully stocked. My only gripe at all about this store is the majority of the time I stop in to pick up something from their deli area. I always have to wait an extended period of time for some one to help me. Not because they are busy, but because no one is ever around. Overall, the store is great. But I do not come here for lunch any more and I no longer shop after 8pm because of the poor customer service. read more

I stopped in here for some reason and that is to buy something to eat. This is a nice location of Mariano's. I've been here before already and I consider it as one of the good grocery stores in the area considering its good quality and fresh selection of goodies and all. I just wanted something to eat but I also explore the store and I saw that it is pretty much the same just like what I saw last time. They have nice selection which is also well-organized but definitely not fully stocked. The store is also clean and spacious. Their seafood counter took my attention, their seafoods are honestly so fresh and in a good quality plus there are various hard to catch seafood that are available at a reasonable price. I head to their hot food bar where there are a few people also buying something to eat. They have a nice selection and the price is reasonable. The staff back in there is nice and friendly. I also bought a donut particularly the chocolate dipped and I love it. I also love the food I bought from their hot bar. It is delicious and well-seasoned but it is honestly not hot when I ate it even if I eat it right after I went inside my car but good thing about it is it tastes delicious. read more

When they first opened the bakery it was amazing. Now it seems bit or miss. On some Sundays I go before 7 am for donuts and the selection has been scarce. My family' especially likes the glazed croissants which the last 3 times I went they have not had them. The apple fritters were hard to chew today. Another gentleman at the bakery this morning was equally frustrated. I hope they can turn it around. Among the grocery stores around the area, I must say that this store is on top of them all. I mean, they all have a downside but overall, this store is better. I had my groceries in here for the past few months and it would always a nice experience. Everything I needed is here and there is a lot of good things that the store offers including their fresh selection of seafood, produce, meat and even on their bakery. Went here during there grand opening and ordered myself sushi to go and it was horrible. 1. Presentation was horrible 2. Over priced 3. Only couple pieces 4. It wasn't that spicy for a spicy tuna. The taste wasn't bad but I expected better I rather just order sushi from a sushi place instead. It is not worth spending your money at Mariano's sushi place. This market is great but everything is overpriced in my opinion. If you afford spending a lot of $$ for groceries then go for it. The market is very clean and fresh. Haven't been here in 18 months or so but we wanted the ribs and brisket. When we got to the meat and deli departments there was a VERY strong rotting meat smell in the air. It wasn't the seafood either, I can sometimes overlook a bit of strong fish odor as its fairly common but this was an overwhelming stench throughout the whole bakery, meat and deli sections. We did end up buying our ribs and brisket only to throw them out when we got home. The ribs tasted dry and old and the brisket was grey and dry also. We used to love their smoked meats but I'm not sure what happened there. So goodbye Marianos. read more

This store of Mariano's is nice. It was my first time to go in here because I do not live in here and I must say that this store is way better. I went in here and there are only few people and the aisles is clean and spacious. The whole store is actually clean and perfectly organized. There are various selection of items. It is not fully stocked because I found few products that are missing on their shelves but it was fine, there are still a lot of choices. Staffs in here are amazingly friendly and helpful. They also have a recommendable meat and bakery section. Most of the produce looks fresh too. I literally bought many things even if I would not stay for long. Prices are fair and reasonable and the checkout is pretty quick. I had such a great time considering it is my first time. read more

I had to comment on how beautiful the Valentine's Day spread is at Mariano's in Naperville. They had hundreds of chocolate covered strawberries, dipped Rice Krispie treats, beautiful cookies, gummy sticks, cakes, and so many chocolates! They have turned their chocolate corner into a beautiful little Sweet Shoppe! It's one stop shopping for all the people I love! Also the flower arrangements were amazing and very affordable. I am definitely a fan of one-stop shopping and Mariano's is a welcomed addition to this category! I stopped in to purchase items for Fathers Day dinner this past weekend. Initially we planned to grill-out but due to the heatwave decided to allow Mariano's to grill our surf & turf selections for the special dinner! I was surprised to have live music greet me as a soundtrack for my shopping excursion! The pianist Kris actually took a request. As we shopped throughout the store we also noticed several sample stations with delightful attendants. For wine enthusiasts there is an adequate variety to make any meal an event! If you have time you can even enjoy a glass of vino at the wine bar. After selecting our items the grill-guy was super sweet and cooked everything per request. I appreciate having a Mariano's close to home and hope they stay in the community for the long-run! read more

Been going here weekly since they opened. The past month, I've been going weekly and every time there is an employee walking with their mask under their chin. The aisles have one way arrows, which I appreciate but no one seems to notice. I saw an employee today face to face with an elderly woman with no masks on their face. I kindly asked them to put them on so I could pass them. The employee put her mask on, was so rude and responded "go for it". Like most folks, I don't look forward to grocery shopping. I have, however, found an exception; shopping at Mariano's. What makes the experience different? I'll start with the physical space. Mariano's is open and inviting. There is something about walking in the main entrance that makes you aware of all the exiting options that lay ahead, depending on which direction your feet carry you. If you are lucky you will be greeted by an employee offering you a sample of their famous fresh-squeezed orange juice. They are wise to do this; it is practically inhuman to take a sip and not follow it up by tossing a container or two into your cart. Are you hungry right now? They say never shop on an empty stomach. No problem. You have your pick...fresh salad bar, hamburgers and other meats made to order, enticing baked goods, a sushi bar, freshly made smoothies...the list goes on. Help yourself and choose where you would like to munch . My favorite is the atrium reminiscent of the tropical dining area at navy pier. Marianos is set up to please today's eating culture. It offers many partially or fully made dinner options at fair prices. The employers all genuinely seem to be happy to be there and help you out. They are knowledgeable about the products in their area. Obviously, I could go on and on singing their praises. Instead, I encourage you to indulge in the experience yourself. So I used to think Mariano's was just a dressed up Dominick's but turns out - for the first time ever - I was wrong. This place is actually pretty great and the number one reason why is because they legit have free groceries - like, every single week. I guess you can sign up for their membership thing and then they have an app and every week there's like 3 totally free items. You for real don't have to purchase jack to get them (though they're hoping you do... and you probably will). I came here with my dad and we got free fancy cheese, free yogurt, and a free pack of gum. All well within my means. Also, would like to note that at like 9 on a Friday night their bar inside was HOPPING. It was completely packed with people actually waiting by their carts for a place to pony up to the bar or one of the tables. It sounds nuts but there must be something worthwhile going on there. Also the place is hella clean and they have all that extra stuff like cooking your food for you and the internal vendor stations. Though I wouldn't mind if they had cheese coffee cake or the those strudel pastry things with cheese. They only had lemon and apricot and surprise, surprise they went unsold. Ain't nobody want that. After a bad experience at another location I would have to say this location was a breath of fresh air. Besides the store being bigger with much more to offer the associates here were kind and helpful. Lily at the self checkouts truly deserves a shout out as she helped me and then moved on to help another customer in need. She was on the ball helping and did it with a smile. More than just a grocery store! This place is amazing. We all shop for groceries, once a week....maybe more. So we might as well like the place we shop at. You can actually have fun while you shop. Walking into Mariano's is so different from your normal store. You can tell from the moment you walk in that it is so much better. It's new, yes, but it's clean and big. Everything is arranged nicely and easy to find. Very large selection of Organic fruits and vegetables. As you begin your shopping journey you walk into an area with food bars where you can take a selection of items. There's a sushi bar, a juice bar, burger bar, oyster bar, and plenty of cheese and desserts. Too bad it's not by the front door, there's a bar that serves adult beverages that you can take and walk around the store with. Drink while you shop. Nothing more I can really say except you have to try Mariano's at least once. read more

The store is very busy. I already noticed it when I was parking my car because the space was almost full, but I was so glad that there was still an available space. The whole place was just so busy, but everything seems to be fine and there is no problem other than the fact that the whole store is packed. They have a wide variety of selections, literally for everything, which is why I always particularly choose this store for my groceries. The prices are also fair and reasonable and comparable to those of other grocery stores. The reasons why I like this are not only their selection and the prices, but also the products themselves that they have. One is definitely their fresh produce, the cheese selection, their bakery full of freshly baked delicious pastries and sweets, the good selection of their meat and deli, and, of course, their delicious sushi. These are only a few of the things I always look forward to when I grocery shop at this store. The staff anywhere inside the store is also friendly, be it the butcher, the chef, or just about everyone is very nice and helpful. I am just glad that I always have a good experience at this store. Updated 7/5/19: Big fail by Mariano's-- I placed a special order at the eat counter week ago for pick-up this morning. The order was for food to be served at my wedding reception. Went in this morning and the butcher had no record of my order. Mariano's recently leased their grill area to Pork and Mindy's, a BBQ restaurant. My fiancé and I gave it a try last night by getting pulled pork and beef brisket. BiG mistake. The pork was over seasoned and cooked over a third of it was fat rather than meat. The beef brisket was okay. Unfortunately, we got sick from the pork and to add insult to injury it cost more than double what we use to pay for pork and beef at Mariano's grill. The hot food is always good, the fruits and vegetables are fresh, and the pastries always look delicious. Presentation is everything and they never disappoint me at this location. We moved last August so this has become "our Mariano's" now. If you've been to one, you've been to them all, however I feel this location has a lot more to offer than the Aurora location. My most recent obsession are the poké bowls, and for the price you certainly get your money's worth. The deli could use improvement. I really try not to get anything from there only because there is never less than 10 people waiting (and two people working, if you're lucky). I also try to avoid buying produce here as it's cheaper at Caputo's and the quality is better. The past few trips here when I've purchased produce, it has gone bad within a day. It seems that ever since Kroger bought out Roundy's, there has been a decline in quality and customer service. You can tell most of the cashiers and baggers would rather be anywhere but there. However, as long as they keep sending me $10 off $50 or more worth of groceries coupons, I will continue to walk around with my glass of beer and shop 10-for-10 deals. read more

I have to hit done." okay did you not just finish scanning can you not do your job hit done and see?? I don't see the point in telling people you can't do your job when it's one simple step do it and tell me the price? THEN something didn't come up right she said idk go t0customer service, nah next time take all the items off that you can't check and make sure are correct when I'm showing you I clipped the coupon on my phone and decided to be a difficult instead of have a manager do a quick override is ridiculous and when they can't put it back the store can comp it and fire you when they lose $ because of your ignorance. I've never had a problem with it at any other store I've ever gone to, next time I'll hold the line up and call for a manager to do the override that they do at every other store. So, the gang and I went on a little adventure today to explore Mariano's and all its glory for the first time. Let me tell you something, screw Jewel, Whole Foods, Standard Market, Costco, and Sam's Club. Those places are PUNY in comparison to this 'magical place.' There are so many varieties of so many different and unique food items. I almost lost my mind. The aroma of different food stations even have a fresh scent! Not to mention, you can buy in bulk at a reasonable price WITHOUT having to pay a membership fee, unlike Costco and Sam's Club. The website was dead-on when they mentioned that tidbit. This location used to be my go-to grocery store when it was Dominicks. While I'm glad to see Dominicks gone and Mariano's take it's place, I'm only giving this store a 3-star rating for the time being. They really need to work some kinks out of the service before I give them any more. The good: brand-new store built from the ground up. They hired lots of really good employees- I find the checkout people to be really friendly and quick. There's a huge selection of everything, and the store layout is like every other Mariano's. The popcorn stand and the cheese "cave" are definitely the two best parts of the store. The OK: the produce section is really well-stocked. I have found frequently that produce I buy here goes bad after only one or two days. This is not acceptable. I don't have this issue with the Wheaton or Westchester stores, but I have also found that Aurora's store has this issue. Why? Prepared foods are average, sometimes they are lacking both variety and quality. I have gotten to the point that I rarely eat here anymore since the quality is hit-or-miss. The bad: the deli. There's never less than a 10 person wait. It's like going to the freaking DMV. I think they need to really train the people at the deli counter to work a little quicker or something. It's beyond annoying. Overall this store is a huge step-up from Dominicks and it's definitely better than any Jewel, but they shouldn't rest of the laurels of their reputation. I love this supermarket. Their coffee is the best! And their food and salad bar - everything is so fresh and delicious. The supermarket is big and you get everything you need. Yes some groceries might be a bit more expensive compared to other supermarkets but definitely worth it, because the quality of the food is excellent. After visiting some high-end supermarkets in different states I thought I had found the perfect one for me: the Wegmans in DC. And suddenly that top position was easily grabbed by Mariano's after my first visit to their store. Wow! That is classy, my friends! Superbly clean, organized, stocked. Meat and fresh seafood prices are great. I have got the overwhelming feeling of being welcome in there. I've never seen such competent and caring stuff, really. At least 5 stations offered to taste some products. And I was simply in shock to find so many actual bars in different locations inside: wine bar, oyster bar, BBQ bar, fresh juice bar, sushi bar, cafe. And I've probably missed a couple more. Unbelievable. Among other things we picked up our order of sushi, and I have to tell you: they were noticeably better that any supermarket sushi I ever tried. Not all restaurants serve sushi of such quality and variety. Well done! Thank you so much, Mariano's. You are just another proof that it doesn't matter what you do if you do it the best. We've been very eagerly waiting for this store to open for what seems like forever. I clearly remember the day that the Dominick's on that corner closed, just after Christmas, in 2013. It was predictable, as the lot had been nearly empty for many years. The service and prices at Dominick's were consistently deplorable! The parent company had lost their way in understanding Midwesterners. It has seemed like every other suburb, from 2010 to now, was getting a Mariano's, except for Naperville, which perplexed me immensely. The first Mariano's that I visited was the one on North York Road in Elmhurst. I knew right away that Naperville needed one. So, to this location in Naperville, I went with my partner, late on grand opening day. It was kind of crazy, but no regrets. I am most familiar with the Wheaton Mariano's, which I like immensely. This store has a similar layout. The polished concrete floors are beautiful. The staff was consistently helpful and courteous under the very busiest of conditions. The south end of the store, where the Todd's BBQ is located, was the most packed. They were giving away free stuff, and samples, left and right. The liquor department is incredible, as is the deli and just about everything else. Even on OPENING DAY, we did not have to wait in line to checkout! Trying doing that at a Jewel store! If a staff member catches your eye, they will ask if you need any help. In many ways, it seems like Mariano's has managed to keep the prices of its offferings in the reach of the middle-of-the road customer, AND maintain an upscale, bright and diverse shopping environment. There are plenty of gluten-free choices. While it offers some of the amenities and the vibe of Whole Foods, it is not the least self-righteous like Whole Foods, neither is it pricey. You'll find products that contain Aspartame and extra caffeine right along with stuff that is more "natural" in its composition. I think that it was most appropriate that Mariano's chose to tear down the old building rather than just convert it, as they have with some other properties. Even if you are a diehard fan of Jewel-Osco, challenge yourself to step away from the one across South Naper Boulevard, even just once, and give the new place in town a chance. (May 30, 2016) Since I wrote the first part of this review, I have been frequently utilizing the service whereby one can choose a meat or piece of fish, and then have it properly grilled at Todd's BBQ. So far, the results have been restaurant quality delicious and grocery store inexpensive. I've tried ribeye steak, seasoned salmon and burgers, and they have been grilled as desired. I can't wait to try more selections and to check out an alternate salmon selection. It's like getting quality restaurant food minus the big waits for a table, slow service, higher prices, ridiculous sales taxes on prepared food and guilt-driven tips for incompetent servers. Mariano's brings a breath of fresh air to grocery stores in the area. And lots of competition too. Since Mariano's has opened, I've noticed that other nearby chains have stepped up their game to compete, offering sushi, fresh squeezed orange juice in almost the same exact bottle with label, hot foods bars with similar items, etc, etc, etc... So Mariano's is great for the neighborhood. But what I like best about Mariano's is the warm fresh ambiance that sets it apart from the typical chain. My favorites are the 3 flavored popcorn that they sell near the fresh breads, the salad bar where I load up on various toppings, and the rotisserie chicken that is tasty like no other. The employees are generally efficient but I have found them to be a bit impersonal and standoffish, and the prices are a bit high. However, I enjoy shopping here and I'm glad to have another option in the neighborhood! read more

After much anticipation and great fanfare a new Mariano's recently opened in Naperville. it is much grander than the previous Dominick's store that occupied that very spot carrying a larger assortment of items. One of its much admired offering is a wide variety of prepared foods than can be consumed right there in a food-court like setup. Many families use it during lunch and dinner times instead of going to a restaurant. We were there on a Saturday evening (around 9 PM) for a dinner of fresh sushi and the salad bar. We were sitting and enjoying our meal when at an adjacent table 2 couples started to have a very heated discussion, one particular person in that group was very belligerent using profane language that would have been offensive to many groups. It appears they had consumed at least 2 bottles of wine which they bought at the store which also provided them formal stemware to consume it in the store. Apparently, the store does not have any restrictions on where and how the alcohol is consumed incl. in the food court where many young children are also present. There is no monitoring by the store of drinkers on how much alcohol is consumed. We were not the only people disturbed by the presence of this table, while others decided to pick up their food and move elsewhere, we decided to bring the matter to the attention of one of the store managers (James) who offered to call their store security. We left the store since we didn't want have showdown so I am not sure if any things was done, but this has left a really bad taste in our mouth about eating in the food court (one of the only bright spots in the store). read more
