Sushi Platter: Rainbow
Joneice B.

Needed sushi to take to a party in Bollingbrook. This location was only 5 miles away from my decision. Called in my order after reviewing menu's online. There was some confusion as to the platter's available. The sushi chef sold me on the Rainbow Platter which included 3 specialty rolls and 1 traditional maki roll. Price was 39.99 and included wasabi and ginger. All in all very fresh and a success at the board party that I attended. Mariano's does sushi very well for the price. Would do sushi board again for a party or a date night at home.

The food offerings were good. It would be nice to see some more vegan options. The staff were readily available for questions about ingredients and food allergies. All that is needed to sit and enjoy the food is available in the store. The area is clean and inviting.

Frustrating that so many things I usually or used to buy here never seem to be in stock at this location. Special K breakfast drinks? Nope. The Rick Bayless Milk & Honey granola? Not lately. My parents don't have a problem finding them at the Aurora location. What's up?

My first time at H Mart and I loved it, just wish we lived closer so I could take more fresh items…read morehome! We arrived right at opening, there is a large parking lot. They have many items in bulk, a large fruit and vegetable section, prepared items, meat and seafood and all the seasonings, rice, and noodles. We purchased a bunch of prepared food since we were hungry and the food stalls hadn't opened yet. Prices were normal Asian food prices - they did have a few sales going on. Overall we loved it and hope to bring a cooler and dry ice next time!

I have been shopping here since it opened and the last two visits (back-to-back weeks), they have…read morebeen making so many price mistakes from what is on the sign to what is actually rung up on the register, that I need to speak up. These are big time $$$ differences and they add up. Watch out! As a consumer they should honor their mistakes. They said I should read. Today, I didn't bring my readers, sorry. But when you see 10 items on the shelf above the $9.99 sign, you would automatically think okay, it's $9.99, but at the register it's $12.99. I snapped a picture to prove that there were more than one box above the price. (I could have clapped back and said then your workers should read and be able to put things on the right shelf). Produce that's rotten is sold so make sure you are opening up boxes and packages. Wish I took pictures of the rotting produce. At least I didn't buy those. Saw my receipt that they charged $1.29/lb for my Korean radish which should have been 79 cents. UGH! Guys, pay attention to how they are ringing you up. Two transactions in a row with multiple mistakes. I asked to talk with the manager. The female worker said she is not here and will come at 12noon. Then said actually will come tomorrow. Went to the Customer Service desk and the guy there said the manager is in the bathroom. Both workers started to talk to each other in Spanish. The female worker telling him, tell her the manager is not coming back until tomorrow. I told them I can speak Spanish and I understood everything they said. They got quiet very quickly. As a consumer, I am warning everyone watch the registers and the quality of your food. H-Mart Naperville...DO BETTER!

This is a fairly impressive international market, featuring foods from India, the Middle East,…read moreGreece, Asia, Eastern Europe, and South America, as well as one or two aisles of what looked like standard American groceries and a smattering of food from Italy. There's a halal butcher and just a plain butcher, about which as a vegetarian I can tell you nothing, a bakery, and a Latin American and Indian mini-cafe. The produce section is very crowded (and offers a wild variety with some excellent specials), and the endcaps on the aisles extend into the aisle, meaning in several places there's only room for one cart and you'll have to excuse yourself to get where you're going. Be prepared. I was impressed by their selection of organic spices and they also had some organic Asian noodles (buckwheat and soba). They also have a good selection of Latin American groceries, including huancaina sauce from Peru (yes!), frozen plantains and Guarana soda. I've seen larger selections of Indian and Eastern European products at dedicated specialty groceries, but no one else in the area carries it all. Many, many different types of flatbread and a wide selection of Middle Eastern sweets; various dry pulses; various types of candy; pearled farro and more versions of burek than I've seen before, including a "vegan be'f". The Indian mini-cafe is half vegetarian, half non; the Latin American one has various kinds of filling in carbs, and if you're vegetarian, all they have is cheese - though the fried corn-dough empanada, cheese in an eggroll like wrapper and pastelito (cheese in pastry) offered various textural delights. This is a haul for me, and I usually try to avoid I-59 but this place might be worth a special trip.

I'm hesitant to write this review, because I don't want this place to catch on, become too popular…read moreand be unable to meat demand (sorry I had to...). Wallace is a rare combination of the highest quality product, convenience and affordability. Their website is simple to navigate and order from, while the monthly pick up as quick and easy as it gets, you're in and out in 30 seconds. The products, well I don't know where to begin. Everything I have purchased from them has been excellent (and there has been a lot). I have purged my kitchen of any grocery store bought meat and have switched solely to Wallace. Their meat comes vacuum sealed and frozen, which has resulted in my freezer being stocked to the brim with grassfed, organic and ethically raised meat. I challenge you to find a better steak in the city at any price, let alone the prices they charge. For a similar cut at these price points, you're probably looking at a styrofoam tray with a gray piece of meat on it from your local supermarket.

I was skeptical of their products at first because they are delivered frozen but everything is actually great quality. The grass-fed beef is tasty and healthy(er) than mass-produced beef you find at the grocery store. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a fatty piece of grain-fed steak every once in a while, but I also enjoy good health.. If I had to recommend one item to purchase from Wallace Farms, it's definitely the BACON. I'm pretty much over the whole bacon craze but Wallace Farms managed to change my mind. Their bacon has a flavor that is unlike any other bacon you've ever had. Trust me. Order it.
