Sylvia came to our apartment a few weeks ago to see the lay of the land. She recommended going by an hourly rate rather than a flat price, because the flat price could change depending on what's encountered. She also emphasized to label boxes well like: master bedroom, kitchen, etc. so we went with hourly rate $165 per hour for three movers. There was an up-charge of $75 because they were also moving a gun safe. They arrived at 8:45am and took a quick tour of our apartment. They explained how they go about it. The movers are Luis, Josue and Juan. What a team. Luis is the leader. Amazingly, they were done in 2.75 hours. This is the furniture for a two bedroom, two bath, den, kitchen, living room , dining area and the balcony we're talking about. Plus all the accompanying boxes for each area. We had boxed up everything we could and labeled as Sylvia had requested. And gave them clear paths as best we could to the major pieces. We had a lot of boxes! We wholeheartedly recommend this company for your moving needs.

During the move, their crew wrapped and transported my 55-inch Samsung television, which was fully functional prior to the move. After unwrapping and powering it on at my new residence, I discovered severe panel damage, including cracking and vertical line distortion, ruining the TV. We observed the crew drop a plastic box containing personal belongings and drop our mattress, demonstrating careless handling practices. I booked the Basic Move option and was informed verbally that damage claims are considered on a case-by-case basis. Despite this, my claim for replacement value was formally denied, citing lack of a specialty TV box and basic coverage. Attached are photos of the damaged television. It was obvious that they weren't just trying to get the job done, they genuinely cared about doing it the right way. They even finished ahead of their estimated time, which was an awesome bonus! Absolutely recommend Bailey's Moving Company. Gio and Josh rapidly knocked out the job with real…read morecare and attention to detail. They were real pros, and on an easily 100+ heat index day, it can slow things down considerably, with a 3 staircase climb over and over. I needed a 2 person crew for a 10 minute move from a 3rd floor apartment in South Austin to a relatively nearby home. Richard Bailey messaged me here on Yelp and to my phone number after I contacted multiple movers. I can only say one slightly negative thing here. At first contact, I wasn't entirely certain that they had accepted my job offer and date. I did have to message a few times to make sure the date and time was actually locked down. I, and so many of us, have been "flaked" on in the past, as I did a few times in Nashville somewhat recently. So I felt I had to reach out a little more as I had a very tight timeline and was just trying to get all my ducks in a row. However with a few messages we did lock in the day and time with a couple days to spare. I would just say that when we are here putting multiple offers on Yelp, you do end up getting blasted by some companies immediately, too much so, but it does make them "seem eager" to lock in the job. Just a little better first contact would be the only slightly negative thing I could say. On to the great: I received a call and message from Gio of their ETA the day before and on the day, which they met. The heat/humidity combination got really bad, still they had surprisingly great attitudes and asked all the right questions when they came up. They wrapped and protected all the furniture as if it was going in a cross country van/semi-trailer. Going down apartment steps, everyone's furniture has gotten scratched and bonked and movers have just said.. oh well. These guys knew exactly what they were doing and everything arrived perfectly. They even had me "direct" them to which room or area as they pulled carts of boxes up to the home. Gio and Josh were just good people, hard workers with real attention to detail and a positive attitude. I don't have any other reviews on Yelp, as far as I know, so here I am highly recommending Baileys Moving Company. I'll try to use them again if and when it happens next, and I'll be recommending them to any friends that are looking for help moving. Good to meet you guys and thanks again for the great work. - CV

They were completely unprofessional, untimely, inaccurate, and incapable of doing what we hired them to do...move our belongings. They didn't come on the day they were scheduled to start, they came late the next day, and it took them from 10:00 a.m. Friday, 12 Sep, to 2:30 a.m. Saturday, 13 Sep. And, even then, they did not finish, we ended up having to go the next day and make two large truckloads (GMC 2500 HD Sierra Denali) to finish. They chipped our wooden curio, broke the top of a newly acquired IKEA 3 tier shelf, crushed the bottom portion of an IKEA 5 drawer chest of drawers, scraped up a couple drawers of a wooden dresser, dislodged wooden pieces of a corner shelf, unproperly moved our grandfather clock (to the point the chains were all tangled up inside the clock), and they broke the tempered glass shelves in our wooden china cabinet. The owner absolved himself of all responsibility less repair of our curio and wooden dresser drawers. We received no further compensation for the remaining damage. I highly recommend AGAINST hiring this company.

1 Star -- An Extremely Disappointing and Traumatic Moving Experience…read more It has taken me a couple of months to process this experience and honestly get past how traumatic it was, which is why I am only now writing this review. This was my second time using Evolution Movers, and I deeply regret trusting them with my belongings a second time. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company to anyone. From the beginning, the movers made me feel uneasy and uncomfortable. There were rude, condescending comments made about my belongings, and my wishes regarding how my home and property were handled were repeatedly disregarded. They insisted on going through areas of my home despite my objections and showed a complete lack of care when it came to doorways, floors, and my personal property. I even purchased drinks for the crew, only to have one of the movers tell me, with an attitude, that he didn't like grape Powerade. My belongings were made fun of, and I could hear complaints about having to move certain items, including my plants. As a customer who had hired and paid for a professional moving service, I found this behavior incredibly disrespectful. Unfortunately, the problems weren't limited to their attitude. Multiple items were damaged or broken during transit. Their truck also tore up my driveway while backing in, once again demonstrating what felt like a complete disregard for my property. Perhaps one of the most unprofessional things I witnessed was the movers working out on our gym equipment while they were on the clock. I did purchase insurance through the company to protect against damage. However, getting the damage addressed was not a simple process. It ultimately required me to have a contractor come out, assess the damage, and provide a written estimate before the company would cover the full amount of the insurance I had purchased. I did make management aware of what happened. The explanation I received was that they were understaffed and hot, as though those circumstances explained or excused the way I and my belongings were treated. Being understaffed or working in the heat does not justify disrespecting a customer's home, belongings, property, or boundaries. As a veteran and healthcare professional, I have always believed in treating people and their property with respect, professionalism, and dignity. I expect the same when I hire a company to come into my home and handle everything I have worked hard for. This experience was far beyond simply having a few things damaged during a move. It was the overall lack of professionalism, respect, care, and consideration that made this experience so upsetting. I gave Evolution Movers a second opportunity based on my previous experience with the company. I sincerely regret that decision. I cannot recommend Evolution Movers based on my experience. If you are considering hiring them, I strongly encourage you to ask very specific questions about how they handle property, damage, employee conduct, and customer complaints before trusting them with your home and belongings.
