Loved this experience!! This place was so delicious and left me feeling so happy with coming to brunch here. I almost had to roll out of here. The staff was insanely quick on their feet and took great care of us. The place had space and was super cutesy! 10/10 recommend and would come again!

I can't get enough of this place! I've been here three times and every time I've ordered the surtido plate. I keep telling myself I'm going to try something new but the surtido plate is just so good! I love that I don't have to decide what to eat, the surtido plate gives me a little bit of everything. The matcha and butterfly latte are also yummy. It's hard to believe the food is vegan! Vegans and meat eaters alike will love the food at Maria Cruz. Service is quick and all the employees are friendly.

    Nice corner in the restaurant!

Great tasting vegan Mexican cuisine. Recommended even for non-vegans. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly service.

Food was amazing very delicious, the waitress was very kind and the ambiance is very pleasant.

We started off with the molletes* Which one could easily have as a meal as it comes with a side order of Mexican rice and refried beans. Fav

Super cute little place located in down town Mcallen. Although small it was surprisingly busy, but the service didn't take long, everyone was very polite. Definitely a hipster vibe for a younger crowd. (20s to 30s I'd say) my bestie and I each ordered the *melon aqua fresca, and the cucumber lemonade (mine was better)! We had the *Molletes to start which turned out to be our favorite thing along with my "beef" burrito and her entomatadas which again I liked my plate a little better, but it was all very tasty. Everything is plant based Mexican cuisine so I've been trying to find someone to go with since I just started my vegan journey last month. I will certainly be returning soon, to try some of their other tasty dishes!

Tasty vegetarian food in the Rio Grande Valley! Enjoyed the pumpkin pancakes over the weekend, and the Fatima salad for weekday lunch.

A James Bond kind of theme, dark, mysterious and sexy. We made reservations and received a call for confirmation. As we sat at the bar, we were served by the bartender, Diamond who was helpful, attentive and willing to answer questions. The three different martinis on Happy Hour menu were excellent, especially the espresso and dirty martini. The empanadas were filled with great flavors of chicken and cheese. The Bond fries we recommend, fries topped with caramelized onions, animal dressing and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. The spiced mixed nuts, were okay. The charcuterie board was filled with 4 different meats, 4 different cheeses, olives, tomatoes and toast. If any constructive criticism, I would put a few crackers on the board, however it was a great treat! We will be back. Things to be aware, you need a reservation and there is a dress code.

The server/bartender was rude, dismissive, and acted annoyed when asked for something as basic as a drink refill. The only time he showed any level of attentiveness was when the apparent manager was present -- once they were gone, so was any effort or professionalism. Despite being the only table, our food took over an hour to come out, with no explanation or apology. This was the first time in my life I've ever left a zero tip, and it was absolutely earned. What made it worse? The server/bartender noticed and actually followed us out to our car just to give us a sarcastic thumbs-up. Completely inappropriate, uncomfortable, and beyond unprofessional. Save your time and money. This place clearly has no standards for service or behavior. I will not be returning to the McAllen, Tx. location!

We parked in the back and walked through the back patio and were escorted by a very friendly server who knew the history of the building (impressed). She led us to the front door. Then we had to climb some very steep stairs. For the average individual it wasn't bad. But we had two seniors with us that found the steps challenging. Once inside we were greeted by the hostess and a very not so good odor (we almost walked out, it smelled musty and very old, our thoughts were the bathrooms. These need to be renovated badly). But once you get into the dining room there was no more smell. Tino was our server for the evening he did an amazing job. We ordered classic pasta (honestly it had good flavor but the sauce was very watery), the Duck (that was very good), and the Prime Rib (that was huge, that would be perfect for two people). We finished dinner and proceeded to go outside to the patio (mind you this is in January, when the weather is perfect for sitting el fresco) and had dessert. We ordered the Banana's Foster (Santana did an excellent performance, best part of the dessert) or Platanos Cajeta (huge difference) and the Flan. They were both good. This was a Saturday night and they had a duet playing acoustic guitar music (this helped top off the evening). We ended up spending a good amount of time here and enjoyed each other's company in a very nice atmosphere. Will definitely be revisiting.
