This is the spot to come chill and have great night/day with your friends My friends and I came on a Sunday and it was amazing. Great atmosphere and the music was great too a mix of everything. Customer service was good over all. To begin with this place is pretty big its more of outdoor place, but they do have 2 little indoor rooms which is pretty cute. Which they have a table and some chairs. The Bar is in the middle of the place surround by several food trucks and tables and high tables also. Totally different from any place in Downtown night life. The food and drinks are a little exorbitant but its kind of worth it. Not gonna lie the food is delicious , though the only thing I've tasted are the Gorditas de pollo. Moreover they also have games which my friends and I played. One is Bag Toss and Jenga those are the only games we saw maybe they had other ones inside the indoor rooms. we'll have to go again to check. This place is okay. We came to check it out since we are from out of town and honestly I've had way better cocktails in other places around this area. I ordered a variety of cocktails and they just weren't that great. The ambiance is cool though, they would be so much more awesome in my opinion if they had more food trucks around the premise. When I went there were only two (and it was 9-10 sat night) and the one we were hoping to open just never opened as they were taking way too long to prep. Would I return? Possibly if they get their cocktail making skills up to par and get more food truck choices. It's a good idea though I'm rooting for them for sure as it's a prime location and nice area. read more

Great spot in downtown McAllen. There is a lot of outdoor space to sit, as well as two AC pods/containers. Pretty trendy place. Many people had their dogs with them on a leash. About 6 food trucks. The food was amazing. I had the Tacos Reynosa with cheese at one of the food trucks and l would have gone back for seconds had it not taken so long. Atmosphere is great and they play a good variety of music. The bar staff could improve on their hospitality but then again it's a bar so I guess you shouldn't expect much. read more

I have been to The Yard a few times and it was a great experience, good environment and great costumer service. Until this last time that I went. I invited my friend from Mexico so she could see how good this place was and as soon as she gave her ID to the waitress, another dumb butt guy came back with the ID ripped saying it was fake. My friend explained it wasn't and it was her only ID since she is from Mexico. the stupid guy with no manners laughed and repeated several times that it was fake since the sticker came off. any person knows IDs from Mexico are ugly. we told the guy he should've called the police but not break it and he just laughed and went away. Honestly, if you think an ID is fake go call the police, don't break something you "believe" is fake and laugh. that's not your job to break something you "believe" is not. Never going back since they couldn't even call the police or pay for the REAL license. read more
