I was prescribed Alprazolam without the office having information about my height, weight, or what medicines I was taking. The prescription was supposed to be for 1mg, but was actually for 2mg of Alprazolam. They had me take two, which means I had 4 mg of Alprazolam. I remember nothing about the surgery (root canal); my husband had to virtually carry me into the house; I slept for 18 hours straight; we were given no instructions re. Alprazolam's after effects. When my husband phoned the office concerned about my grogginess and confusion, he was not allowed to speak with Dr. Concepcion, and no one inquired into my condition. Future attempts by me to talk with Dr. Concepcion were unsuccessful as she was 'too busy.' After weeks of attempts to talk with Dr. Concepcion, I was told to send her an email, which I did. She phoned me at 8:30pm on a Friday, continually interrupted me, denied my version of events, sounded angry. Unprofessional dentist and staff. read more

This dentist worked on a tooth for a root canal. She gave me so much medication that I was actually asleep. When I woke up, I had a temporary cap to cover the empty space in the front of my mouth. The tooth broke right to the gum. Before I could return to my own dentist the cap must have been swallowed. My dentist told me when the cap came off, it took more of the tooth so that there was no room to put a crown. He suggested I have the tooth pulled, which I did. Now I have to have an implant at an absorbent cost. She did refund half of the money, even though I felt she should have refunded the entire amount. Check out her reviews. I think when you see that 22% of her clients have put negative comments. I told my dentist if he continued to recommend her based on her reviews, that he would suffer his own reputation. read more

This was hands down the best Endo experience I've ever had. Truly the "warm hug" of dentistry. The team was so prescriptive about every move they made, comforting and A-class communicators. Support with a wrapped pillow was icing on the cake. I recommend 100% if you're in need. read more

I want to start by saying that I typically have the utmost respect for professionals particularly when I have no knowledge of the subject at hand. However, I would never consider Dr. Concepcion to be professional. Her bedside manner is one of the worst I have ever experienced. She proceeded to tell me I wasn't being an adult when I was explaining that part of the procedure was uncomfortable. She continued to insult me. Hadn't I already been numbed and prepped, I would not have continued on in her care. Everything about the practice screamed they had an elitist attitude from the initial phone call scheduling the appointment with Vivian to my office experience with Vivian and Maria herself. I understand that Endodontics are incredibly well trained with years of education and should be respected as such; however, at the end of the day they are service based profession and they are doing a job. It was continually thrown in my face that they were doing me a "favor" by doing a straightforward root canal. To put it bluntly, I would rather let my teeth rot out of my head before returning to this office. read more

I have incredible anxiety when it comes to the dentist, but thankfully I was reccomended to go to Dr. Maria Concepcion. She was friendly and informative while also being incredibly knowledgeable. She broke the stereotype that dentists/doctors are unfeeling and unfriendly. I went in with a large infection and was incredibly nervous but thankfully I left that day feeling relieved. Not to mention, the pain was practically nonexistent and it was over within an hour. I would highly recommend her office to anyone within a 500 mile radius! read more

This was my first time visiting Dr. Concepcion and it was a true emergency situation. She went above and beyond in order to get me pain relief as quickly as possible. She and the staff were very kind, thorough and patient. She has great hygiene practicies in the office and the office atmosphere was very warm and inviting. read more

My regular dentist detected some abnormality in my xrays, she recommended for me to see Dr Concepcion for a consult. Well, it turned out that I didn't need one after all although i have to monitor it's condition. The staff and Dr Concepcion were exceptionally kind, considerate and if I ever needed an endodontist, I'll be back. read more

Dr. Maria Concepcion DMD - Advanced Endodontics is a lifesaver. The office is beautiful and comfortable. Most people have a fear of dentists, yet alone a dental surgeon. Do not have any fears here. Dr. Concepcion was running late on the previous patient, so her staff called me to ask if I could come 30 minutes later. Absolutely! No need to wait when I arrived. The staff is friendly and so comforting. Dr. Concepcion is very calming and really took her time to make sure I had no fear or anxiety. She is brilliant and, as usual, my second root canal was pain-free. Dr. Concepcion explained everything, ensuring I understand what needed to be done and why. After the procedure, she calmly explained what I should expect and made sure I knew I could call if there were any problems. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. C, not only as a doctor, but as a person. You can tell she and her staff care about their patients and take the time to get to know you. read more

Couple things to start out with, 5 stars for Dr. Concepcion & her DA who handled my root canal. The office setting was lovely and they were super kind and very efficient. However, I must talk about Julia. Being treated like an outright criminal and threatened on my way out is the -3 stars. This is gonna be a real rant and I'm sorry in advance, but I really need to paint the picture right now. I go to check out, expecting to be billed for my portion after my dental insurance pays their part. I'm lucky to have it and since my insurance covers 80% or above i'm generally billed for the rest if there is a remainder. Ok my bad, Julia let me know I owed her $335 bucks (I did not expect that amount by any means, but I apparently owed it AND I paid it). So okay, I am sorry Julia. I have 10 dollars and my ID on me, I say, but I work up the road and will return to you on lunch tomorrow to pay my debt. Julia literally says and repeats "No, you can't leave. I can't let you leave, I don't want to lose my job. I'm new here." to which I say "wat??" and this goes on until she asks if I can have someone COME PAY IT TO FREE ME? my mommy? my lawyer? who did she want me to call? I guess I do not have the same social network as Julia where I could phone a friend mid day to come release me from the endodontist. So she worked out a deal with me, this woman took a photo copy of my ID, wrote what time I went to lunch on it, reminded me she had my work # and that she was going to CALL ME. I asked her what # she had cause I was genuinely curious- I work with thousands of people I can't even begin to imagine calling me at work. She didn't say. she also said she called me days ago to give me my payment amt (she couldn't say when and she absolutely did NOT do this, did they bill my insurance before I showed up?) I'm very reasonable until some weird stuff like this happens, even at all that my plan was to simply go in on my lunch break today before she contacted my CEO or whatever to PAY and say "hey maybe be more professional and don't make yourself and your boss look bad by saying she's going to fire you because my small portion of the bill was paid a day after service, that's ridic. also don't threaten people. thanks!" I mean maybe Julia had a bad day. Everyone deserves another shot. So that's what I did, the friendly assistant was there and I quietly paid and said hey - that was unprofessional and not cool. I mean Julia is saying some wild stuff around here. It should have been over there. It was not over. Julia had come out so I said, 'hey that wasn't cool man' and I asked for my bill -which I also could not get a copy of, so I don't even know what they billed my insurance. I'll find out I guess. I also do not even care at this point- didn't get it so I left bewildered, angry and slightly humored at how pathetic this situation is. I'm now in the meeting I missed half of and JULIA IS SERIOUSLY TEXTING ME. To apologize? nope. To double down on HOW PROFESSIONAL AND RIGHT SHE WAS. I mean I'm real attempted to attach photos here. At this point it's a yelp review I never wanted to write. So I say 'ok, at this point I need to speak to someone else...do you have an office manager?' she tells me she IS the office manager and that the OTHER office manager will call me back Monday and is being kept abreast. lolz? This small endo office has 2 office managers? I sincerely doubt this. Anyway, for my sanity I hope that the 'other' office manager never calls. Can you imagine someone in a dental office harassing you before and after payment??? So yeah... wouldn't go back for any other endodontics, or even this one if it goes awry. Which is a shame because I would have been happy to return otherwise. Also judging by some reviews she's not new there! read more

I went to Dr. Concepcion on the recommendation of my dentist because I had pain in my 6 year molar that already had a root canal in it. I told her where the pain was and she insisted it was the tooth behind it and proceeded to do a root canal on it. Well, a week later, the molar that was really causing me the pain (not the one she insisted was causing the pain) developed a full blown infection (including a swollen cheek) and I had to have it extracted (it turned out one of the roots was broken and you could not see it in an xray). So, she performed a root canal on a tooth that did not need it because she did not agree with me regarding where the pain was coming from. I lost a perfectly good, healthy tooth that was fine and had no crown on it to an unnecessary root canal. I am still kicking myself for failing to get a second opinion - I will never make that mistake again. read more

Maria Concepcion and her staff are amazing! Concepcion is kind, caring, passionate at what she does and good at it!!!! I had a tooth emergency on a Sunday, June 30th, and was in excruciating pain from a surprise tooth root abscess. I had first met Dr Concepcion 3 weeks prior for a root canal treatment,(for a different tooth) and she did a fabulous job, there was no pain! My dentist told me I'd probably need an emergency root canal, so I called Dr. Concepcion's emergency number that Sunday and she got back to me instantly. Her staff was great at contacting me and filling the prescriptions and answering any questions I had. Dr Concepcion responded to my texts, while away on vacation, throughout the week with my concerns and pain management until she was able to see me. There is no one else I trust more!! I went to Dr. Concepcion's office based on a recommendation from my dentist. He said that she was friendly and gentle (well as gentle as a root canal allows for) and he was right both she and her staff were pleasant. However, I'm only giving my experience at Dr. Concepcion's office 3 stars because after I was brought into the exam room and the x-ray was taken, the doctor came and gave me several shots of Novocain. While this was obviously a part of the procedure, I was totally caught off guard when one of her assistants came into the room (once the Dr. had left to let the Novocain set in) and asked me to pay for the procedure before Dr. Concepcion continued the root canal. I was totally prepared to pay for the visit (as they called me ahead of time with the estimated cost). However, I was taken aback that rather than collecting payment after the procedure or before they started (which has never been done at any other dentist office that I've been to), they started working on me and then came to me requesting payment. Needless to say, I found this very offensive but did not have the will to adequately express my feelings about this after having 4 syringes of Novocain shot into my mouth. I am not sure if this is the norm for this practice and if it's not I'd be interested to know how they decide who will have to pay in the middle of a procedure. Either way, I could never in good conscious recommend that a friend or family member of mine go here and possibly be treated the same way. read more
