This is the most modern dental office I have been too. The front desk is super friendly; they have a small drink station with coffee and water as you wait. As a new patient, I found it convenient to have my paperwork already completed online so that I didn't have to go 15 minutes early. The medical technology that they have are all very modern. The x-ray machine that covers 360 is very cool. The dentist is super friendly and efficient. She goes over the basics with you and be available for any questions. I loves my hygienist; cleaned my teeth like a boss. I walked out feeling like a transformed man in my mouth. Over a month ago, I fired my dentist. Long story. Basically I didn't like the way they treated me. I needed a crown, and they became very difficult to work with. So I set out to find a new place. Mind you I had a tooth that had just gone through a root canal, so time was of the essence. 1-800-DENTIST led me here. Since it is close to my work, I gave them a try. They got me in within a few days. Now, I could bore you with a lot of details, but I'll get to the point. The nature of my crown was fairly difficult, way in the back bottom molar. So difficult that in the end I made 4 visits here to get it right. Let's just say they got to know me really well the past month. Now, you may be saying to yourself, "Why would he give them 5 stars if they made him come back 4 times? Isn't that a bad thing?" You see, most people wouldn't consider that a positive experience. At my old dentist it wouldn't be. But there's a reason I am praising the Smile Exchange. I spent years in customer service. I was on the service side, and in quality control. I consider myself an expert on how it works. Smile Exchange treats you like a valued customer. They realize they are a service industry. Not every dental place does this. Along the way, Dr. Rolotti explained every reason why things were happening the way they were in great detail. I understood why there were problems, and what needed to be done. He gained my trust that way. Despite the complicated nature of my issue, he approached everything with tremendous attention to detail. But that's not all. You see, when a service industry has a situation where there's difficulty in the service even when they're trying their best to get it done, the most important thing they can show you as a customer is empathy. I truly felt that they honestly felt bad asking me to come back again when things didn't go as planned the first time. As a result, I felt like that even though my experience was complicated, that they were going to do everything possible to make it right. They did. In every sense of the word, they did it. They're worthy of your business. Everyone there treats you like a friend (say hi to Steve at the front desk for me). No, they won't make going to the dentist all sunshine and roses. I recently visited for a checkup, x-rays, and cleaning, my first appointment back since we've been hit with the COVID pandemic, as I finally got around to rescheduling (due to my own procrastination), since they re-opened for regular/non-emergency service. They had immediate available spots within the coming weeks and took all the safety precautions you would expect (questionnaire screening with a temperature check) when arriving at the office and getting checked in for an appointment. I'm certainly pleased with the continued high level of service they provide at their Malvern location. I'm not a fan of going to see a dentist. It's been five years since the last time I went and the experience was not pleasant at all. But I had to make an appointment to get some work done so I did a google search and found the Smile Exchange in Malvern. There team is amazing! After going through my options with Dr. Perschon, we came up with a plan to have some regenerative work done. Laura did a great job cleaning my teeth and The X-ray tech (sorry forgot her name) was quick at getting my teeth filmed. I signed up for Invisalign and during the second appointment, their dentist decided to cut one of my healthy tooth in half without my consent or any prior notice. I was unable to eat anything for a long time due to an infection resulting from that procedure. Do yourself and family a favor and go to a clean and more knowledgeable dentist not a franchise like this that will not take any responsibility for their actions. If you have a rule that you are going to charge people $50 for not giving at least 48 hours notice, shouldn't you hold your business to the same standard? And if you schedule someone for a check-up and a cleaning, shouldn't you have time for a check-up AND a cleaning? It was very strange to receive a call three hours before my appointment, after I had rearranged my whole life, filled out all the invasive and extensive paperwork ahead of time, to be told that they could only take me if I was okay with JUST the check-up. I confirmed that I had MADE the appointment for both and that there wasn't any special code that I missed in making the appointment to schedule for both, but no reason was given for why they suddenly weren't able to do it. Best experience I've ever had at a dentist. Nothing was pushed on me. Even when a mouth guard was recommended, there was no hard sell to purchase from them directly. When cavities were identified, they were shown via a HD camera and displayed on a TV. All expenses were detailed up front and I was given a print out of what charges to expect upon my return visit based on my insurance plan. This is how all medical procedures should be. I am pretty particular about my dentist and the whole experience of being at the dentist so I am looking for great service from the time that I walk in. The person at the front desk was okay, pretty pleasant. However, the girl that took me back to do my X-rays was subpar, she got my name completely wrong and got my hair caught in the lead vest and pulled it out like it was a nuisance for getting caught in there. The technician was okay, she didn't try to engage in any type of conversation to make it a more personable experience and she totally forgot to floss my teeth at the end of my routine cleaning. They are amazing! They offer great specials to their first time customers, and family plans for those who are willing to become their regular patient (covers a couple x-rays and cleaning for a small amount of money) It was very exciting to be one of their first patients and I've been feeling like I go there to see my old friends this whole time. Dr. Dan Rolotti is very professional and very gentle. My whole life I hated getting fillings done but he changed it once and for ever :) the whole procedure took about 15 minutes and my tooth feels like it's brand new. I had a little bit of pain a couple days later which I told one of the reception people over the phone. A little later Doctor Rolotti called me himself to see how I was feeling, he explained why it was happening and, of course, he was right - the pain went away in another day or two. Stephen, their receptionist, is my absolute favorite. I know that he will always talk to me for a little bit and make my day a little bit better. Every time I have an appointment with them, I hope that I will see Stephen. Talking about appointments: I love their reminders! Having a cleaning appointment scheduled for every 6 months is a little bit risky because there's a chance you forget about it. With Smile Exchange I don't have to worry about adding it to my calendar because I get an email about a week before my appointment and then I get a text three days and two days before. I've been a patient with Smile Exchange in Malvern for about 3 years now. A year ago I opt in for the Clear Correct and there was thorough follow up via phone calls and text message, which Stephen Morris who was dealing with the business side made sure I didn't miss a payment and even helped me setup my automatic payments. Now its been about a year now since I got he Clear Correct and I get a call from a Harrisburg number which belongs to a collections company stating they are calling on behalf of Smile Exchange. So I then call the Malvern office and spoke to the new business person who wasn't easy to get a hold of. When I finally got a hold of them. I was informed that I was pass due and they tried to get a hold of me by sending out a letter. They also mentioned that my dental ins didn't cover any of the balance which I understand since I got new dental coverage. But what is frustrating is there was no attempt from the office in trying to contact me by phone call, email, or text to notify me about the late payments and also if my old dental ins didn't go through, that there should of been a red flag to call your patient to find out what happen. So after discussing with the employee who now handles the business side of the office they said they will find out what they can do to help. I then emailed them a copy of my new dental coverage and about a week goes by and I call again to see if there was a update and the reply I got over the phone was I didn't look into it for you but I will. So now I 'm waiting to hear from the Malvern office and now its about a little over a week so I decided to call again. and now I'm being told they don't know and because they haven't didn't hear back from the ins company, but from the response I received it didn't seem like an attempt to contact my new dental ins was never made which I am told me to follow up them in 2 weeks instead of the office giving me a call to update me and in the mean while I'm getting harassed by the collections company. Now this will go on my credit history because of the lack of urgency in helping a customer with a some what serious issue that could of been prevented if the office took all the necessary actions to contact me before it went into collections. Do not go here! I was looking for an in-network dentist in the area because I moved and had new insurance. I was already reluctant to try somewhere new and this just confirmed my fear. I went for my bi-yearly cleaning and they told me I had 5 cavities and 4 other teeth on watch just by taking photos of them. They didn't even use the poker to see if they were soft! They had me crying because of the cost and worry and scheduled me for two appointments for fillers. BUT I am soooo thankful that I was smart enough to get a second opinion by contacting my dentist I've been to my whole life in my hometown and they checked and said my teeth were perfect and they were just stains or things caused by my braces that haven't changed in years or gotten worse and are in no danger.
