I hate buying cars - well, actually I love cars but I really dislike car dealers. Ruby Auto Group…read moretakes the car dealer out of the equation and made my recent car purchase the most enjoyable I ever had. I told Jon Ruby what car I was looking for - right down to the accessories and trim and he found it for me. By contrast, it took me three months/untold numbers of phone calls to buy my last car and I didn't get exactly what I wanted. I never had to listen to sales pitches for things that would increase the dealer's profit but not the life, value or my enjoyment of my car (extended warranty/undercoating/financing) or any talk of "he'll probably throw your offer in my face, but I'll take it to the sales manager". What I did get was exactly what I wanted for considerably less than I would have paid if I had found it on my own - Jon more than made up for what I paid him in savings alone - plus he handled everything. He also took my car in trade and gave me exactly what Kelly's/Edmunds said it was worth (in trade). I recommend Ruby Auto Group highly - if you're busy, just don't like the car buying experience and want to let an expert negotiate for you.

I generally don't care for dealerships because of past experiences, but now that I've had a full…read moreexperience (all departments--Service, Sales, Finance) with Marhofer Chevrolet, I find that I'm pleasantly surprised and comfortable with saying this is a good dealership I would recommend to a friend. My Marhofer experience started with their Service department when I brought in my 2017 Volt LT (purchased from a used lot back in 2020) for routine service and software updates. Everyone was friendly and there was no upselling pressure for services I didn't need or ask for--a big relief. Fast forward a year and a half later when I decided I wanted to purchase a low-mileage Bolt EUV Premier I spotted on their website. I again felt no heavy pressure to buy from Brysyn, the young sales rep I worked with. The price on the vehicle was a no-haggle price, but it was fair, based on what I had seen elsewhere. The vehicle did have a chip in the windshield that happened in transit, but they replaced it. The car was perfect! Next came the Finance Department and I couldn't have been more pleased working with Holly, their finance manager. She was super! I was happy with the rate I got and the fact that she got it with my bank. She's smart, witty, and very thorough. My wife and son have both purchased cars from other Marhofer dealerships in the area and they were comfortable with their experiences. Still enjoying my nearly-new vehicle and have not been pressured to buy anything since I brought it home.

In my experience, this store operates like a typical high-volume, rigid "no-haggle" operation, where that policy seems to be used as a shield to avoid meeting even the most basic customer expectations. What stood out immediately was the lack of disclosure and the unwillingness to address obvious issues. The Ridgeline I test-drove had a broken center console lid. Something that should have been caught during inspection or reconditioning. This was never mentioned upfront. When I asked about it, I was told it was being sold strictly "as is" and would not be repaired. I was later told Honda might fix it under warranty, but the dealership still refused to have it taken in before the sale. I was expected to purchase the truck first and handle the repair myself. I also looked at a Tacoma on their lot and immediately noticed molding sticking out along the body. Again, no disclosure. These are issues visible within seconds, yet they were only addressed after I pointed them out. When I spoke with the sales manager about pricing, the experience was equally rigid. There was no willingness to discuss the out-the-door number in a meaningful way, even with visible defects present. The store also attempted to include a $600 "clear-coat finish" add-on that I did not want, and removing it required additional back-and-forth that shouldn't have been necessary. To be clear, my salesperson was polite and not the problem. The issue is the dealership's overall approach: lack of transparency, refusal to address basic repairs, an inflexible pricing structure, and add-ons that don't add value for the buyer. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this dealership. Customers deserve open communication, proper vehicle inspection, and a fair pricing process, none of which matched what I encountered here.

Mike C. was fantastic to work with and I can't recommend him enough as he was the primary reason I returned to Cascade to move forward with the purchase. I have never ever in my life owned a new car or purchased a car from a dealer. I was super nervous about this purchase and did a lot of research about vehicles I was interested in. I had a visit at another dealership to test drive a different manufacturer's vehicle to compare this experience to and both myself and my husband were very impressed with the difference in working with Mike C. as the salesperson at Cascade. Our first test drive he accompanied us as we drove the SUV around including a lovely trip through the Cuyahoga Valley, and he demonstrated many of the safety features and educated us thoroughly about the car. After the test drive he sat down with us and gave us some preliminary ideas about cost which lined up with prices I'd discovered during my research about the vehicle's going MSRP and such. A few months passed as I mulled over new vs. used and what car I wanted. Ultimately the great feel of the Forester, its top safety rating and reviews from Consumer reports, and the superb test-drive and no pressure conversation with Mike led me to call them up and move forward with the purchase. I called to make sure Mike was available and did another test-drive. Then we started the negotiation process and - armed with another dealer's out the door offer for the vehicle and the fact that it was quarter end - I was able to negotiate the price down to a VERY reasonable offer according to both TrueCar, KBB, and CoPilot for the particular trim and extra features (and in a color preference as well.) While the vehicle was not in stock yet (in transit as seems to happen frequently with these fast-moving cars) it arrived a couple days later and I worked with Mike to finalize the paperwork other than the financial agreement stuff. He helped me get the app set up so I can remote start my car and adjust the temperature and he also called up my insurance company to help get those details squared-away. Another employee, Peter, gave me a very thorough overview of the many features in the car so I would be comfortable driving it and the financial process was made very easy for me as well. I would recommend Cascade - and in particular the Subaru dealership and Mike C. to anyone interested in purchasing a vehicle. I look forward to additional great experiences with them for service and maintenance!

Long time client - I will not go back. Very disappointed with how this repair was handled. I…read moreinitially brought my Jeep in for a loose 4WD shifter. The first diagnosis focused on a clutch failure with an estimate over $6,000, which ultimately turned out not to be the issue. After several weeks (4 weeks just to be diagnosed due to lack of bodies in the shop), the actual problem was identified as a worn transfer case linkage -- consistent with the original symptom and exactly what I told them that I knew the problem was - it's pretty typical with the Jeep Wrangler JK. Throughout the process, the estimate was revised multiple times, including a significant additional charge after parts were said to have been "inadvertently omitted." While I understand repairs can evolve, clearer explanations and earlier verification would have gone a long way. After the repair was completed, the vehicle had multiple warning lights illuminated. When I asked if the codes could be cleared and rechecked -- a standard post-repair step -- I was told there was "no sense" in doing so and advised to pick up the vehicle as-is. The final repair itself appears to address the mechanical issue, but the experience suffered from inconsistent diagnosis, long delays, changing estimates, and limited follow-through at the end. I expected clearer communication and a more complete handoff for a repair of this scope. I hope this feedback helps improve the process for future customers.
