We had a high bar because we had just gone to an Indian restaurant in Chicago that was over the top good. Sizzling Tandoor met that bar. It was just as good as Chicago. Many reviews mentioned the Rogan Josh Lamb so we ordered that and balanced it off with Chicken Tikka Masala. We each ate half of each entree. A side of plain Naan completed the meal. We like hot food and we're going to order hot, but our server, Muskan, convinced us to get medium hot. It was perfect. Muskan was attentive but didn't hover. She engaged us in a nice convo after our meal and was very pleasant. The most difficult part was deciding which we liked better. The lamb won, but only by a small margin. Both were excellent.

We had seen the "Butcher" and "open"sign and thought, let's give it a go (especially being that it was 6:50 on Christmas Eve and we had nothing planned for dinner the next night!) We were warmly greeted by the owner, who directed us to the seafood choices, which I had inquired about. However, upon seeing all of the special middle-eastern items they had (in addition to a wide selection of typical butcher-shop items at very decent rates), we decided to go that direction. The owner was friendly and outgoing and helped us put together a collection of items for our special dinner including, chicken shwarma, kabobs, Iranian bread, some feta (which he shared with me how to fry up!), some pickles, and baklava for dessert. We loved our experience and can't wait to cook up all this amazing food for our special holiday dinner! I pay for it and they send me to the toppings counter to select what I want in the shawarma. I tell him what toppings I want and then he says ok, " have a seat" .?? They had me sit at a table so that I would not see what they put in the shawarma. You know how they normally cut it off a big hunk of delicious smokey meat on a vertical cooking thing? Not here. My buddy said their fries were excellent and they are, they are double fried and very crunchy. That is my favorite kind of fry. Pillowy soft on the inside too. The beef-lamb shawarma was special.
