Our World Famous Chicken Pot Pie

Had the chicken pot pie which was to die for! Great atmosphere here and good food offerings. Service can be a hit or miss though. Wish they were open on Sundays!

Have to get here to this old pub some times if you're a fan of old ass bars. It even still has a classic feel to it. Marge's Still has been around a long time and is still popular in Old Town. Get the basic bar food like burgers and fries if you feel like. The prices are kind of high but for the area these are pretty much okay. Came at dinner and it was kind of busy. It's not that big of a place and can feel crowded when there's not even that many people who are inside. The menu is typical of a pub. It's about $12 for a cocktail. There's classics and a few newer ones. Got the French 75, one of the classics. This had a lemony taste. Also we had to eat. The food menu is impressive too. Each of us got the Beyond Burger. It's $17, which is the only bad thing about it. This has the choice of a side and I got it with tater tots. Big burger, helping a bit with the expense. The rest of the menu has typical fried stuff. Got to go here if you like old bars. It's not just drinks but the food is better than expected to be sure. There's a lot of the usual pub grub stuff but there's some healthier options including things for vegetarians.

We walked into Marge's Still on a beautiful September Friday at around 7pm and were seated right away. Marge's Still has a classic, historic neighborhood bar feel. I ordered the World Famous Chicken Pot Pie. It was not on the menu, but I asked the waitress about it and she said that it was off the summer menu, but has recently come back. It was a delicious dish and a reasonable price at $21. I also ordered a Moscow mule and it was great. Overall, Marge's is a nice casual hangout in Old Town with great bar food.

Classic cozy bar in the Lincoln Park area. Stopped in here for dinner this week and was pretty impressed. Waiter was really nice and they had a lot of TVs for the games. We tried their famous blue cheese chips, which I was really excited about that, but I'd say I was a little bit underwhelmed. They were still pretty good, but I don't know if I would get a ful order again. After that, I got the burger which I was pretty happy with. I liked how they had a variety of sides that you could choose from. I got the coleslaw, which I thought was very good. This place gives off great day, drinking fall vibes, but it was definitely great to head there during the summer as well. I just wish they had a few more drinks on tap.

Beautiful building, gorgeous area, drinks are affordable, and food is decent. Satisfying if you're looking for a no-frills cozy bar experience

Great neighborhood pub. Super low key. We came right around opening and were sat right away. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. The prices are a bit high for the atmosphere and quality but nothing crazy just not a huge value. The food was also a bit hit or miss. The pot pie definitely was a hit but the other items were okay. Highly recommend to stop in for a couple drinks and the pot pie though!

The staff were beyond rude. You couldn't pay me to go here. I would rather claw my eyeballs out and eat garbage.

A little pricey, but food here is great. The French onion soup is one of the best I've ever had. Ambiance is also wonderful.

After leaving the symphony, we wanted somewhere nearby to grab a meal and have a good conversation, so we ended up at Miller's Pub at 134 S. Wabash. My colleague had made a reservation, but honestly, it didn't seem necessary, you can easily walk in. Miller's Pub is a longtime Chicago staple, and we were seated quickly. The space is much larger than it appears, with a classic Irish pub feel and an antique charm that gives it a lot of character. Our server was enthusiastic, attentive, and very accommodating throughout the night, which we appreciated. Food-wise, we ordered a variety of dishes. I kept it simple with a salad topped with carrots and chicken, it was just okay, nothing particularly memorable. One of my colleagues ordered a chicken sandwich, and another got what might have been the most massive fish tender I've ever seen. If I ate fish, I definitely would've tried it, and she said it was really good. Unfortunately, what really impacted our experience was the atmosphere. There was a choir conference happening nearby, and a large group of attendees came into the pub and started singing, loudly and continuously, throughout the evening. While it was entertaining for the first couple of songs, it quickly became overwhelming and disruptive. It didn't seem like other patrons were enjoying it either, there was little to no engagement or applause, and I found myself wishing the staff had stepped in to tone things down a bit. I understand that a bar environment can bring in all kinds of energy, but this went on far too long and really took away from the experience we were hoping to have. Based on the food alone, I'd give Miller's Pub 3 out of 5 stars. But factoring in the overall experience, it's closer to a 2.5 out of 5 for me.

I had been wanting to try Industry Ales when it opened and was glad to have had the opportunity to finally check it out! I was slightly thrown off, as the dining tables are at the front of this space, and the bar is all the way at the back. In fact, my friend at first glance thought it was a sit-down dining establishment sans bar seating. We found our way to the bar and posted up at two seats. We were offered menus right away and found the bartender extremely knowledgeable. This was super helpful when facing down an encyclopedia of ales. He offered samples when we explained what we were looking for. That is service above and beyond, especially on a bustling Friday early evening. The brews were tasty, but I couldn't really discern what I was drinking apart to say it was a lighter Belgian Ale. Wine is more in my wheelhouse, but always good to change things up, especially when a person has the opportunity to be guided by an expert. The people seated nearby had ordered the tuna tartare which looked delicious. In fact, all of the menu is globally influenced (think: pizza samosas, pierogis, Korean BBQ) in addition to the classic brewpub favorites. In addition to the Brewpub, this location features the Millroom, a speakeasy-style lounge. I did not have a chance to check that out on this visit. Definitely a cut above the usual sports bar and a place to expand one's knowledge of brews.

Whiskey fans, you'll love the huge selection along with the impressive beer selection. Yelp should really hype this as a whiskey bar, too. It more than qualifies. The cuisine is phenomenal. Definitely a place to bring a large party on your first visit, so you can sample a multitude of wonderful creations. Pro Tip: if you can tolerate a large quantity of fish, visit on a Wednesday for their AYCE Fish & Chips. I've had many hum drum AYCE dinners that are drab and only fill you up. Not this one. It's a great meal and a great deal. The Shepherd's Pie was fabulous, as was the Bangers and Mash. They've created a Haggis Burger that has to appease Americans, yet, still be haggis. A tall order since most would hate "true" haggis. Fear not, it's not your grandfather's haggis, it is a tasty burger. The fries were great but I'd recommend the Tattie Skins. We tasted so many different malts it was hard to pick a favourite. No foolin' they had island malts, highland malts, speyside and even a couple from the lowlands. Easy to spend over two hours in this public house. We did. Can't wait to get back to this town. This is a must! 02/26
