This vintage clothing and accessory shop is just the right amount of funky/cool/chic/kooky items…read morethat will hit the spot for young festival types or anyone who wants to look effortlessly fashionable in a non-trendy, youthful kind of style. You'll find 60's & 70's mod & hippie styles mixed in with modern workwear like Dickies denim overalls. The store is designed with an ease for finding garments with little vignettes of complimentary oddities arranged in a shrine like fashion. I imagine the Coachella crowd eats up a lot of the merch here. Prices are very good for the wares; I saw a 60's faux fur tiger patterned coat for $250 that I've seen in L.A. for $800 for the exact same one. (it's killer - and I have one myself!) The woman working the counter was very friendly and was overheard recommending other vintage stores to customers which earns mad respect from me. My one piece of bitchery is due to the lack of parking; I have a car that I need to keep an eye on and I had to park far away which kept me a bit uncomfortable. If you're shopping here from L.A. that will not bother you at all. I highly recommend spending quality time and money at Thriftology!

I think next time I will park myself by the jewelry and look through their bins. I did buy a bracelet that had a Todd Oldham button on it, love. Like a repurposed button from pants perhaps. I purchased a beautiful white / cream colored 100% silk Halston blouse. And a cute Moschino pink sweater dress with the teddy bears on it. It was on the $20 rack. I am taking it to the tailor to make it a pull over sweater. It is so so cute. I do have some vintage items I might want to sell. Next time Fey !! It was so wonderful speaking to you. Right at the front is the cashier which the gentleman working was a massive gem. The sweetest and friendliest. The layout of the place is an open storefront. Different vendors I believe that house their goods. Just walking through will take some time as there's literally something that will catch your eyes. Also located right at the front, a charcuterie mini truck. How cute to have something like that. Next to that is a specialty market which offers amazing wine options and cocktail mixes and liquor. Treats and more treats to accompany what you like to drink. A cute place with the vibe of a world market and specialty store. Walking through, there's so much to see. One of a kind art pieces to art deco, MCM, traditional and so much more. But if you're looking for clothes, it's heaven here. The options are endless. If you're a vintage lover, look no further. And then--cue the dramatic music--a 50-foot mannequin greeted me at the entrance like some fabulous fashion goddess welcoming me into another dimension. I was in a state of pure fashion bliss. And then I entered PSBS. And that, my friends, is where the novela began. I was browsing, looking at merchandise, minding my own business, when I approached the counter because I had a question. Suddenly, the cashier, "Chris," began shouting: "DON'T SOLICIT ME! DON'T SOLICIT ME!" Excuse me? I wasn't soliciting anyone. I was literally trying to ask a question. The entire interaction escalated so quickly that I found myself standing there thinking, What just happened? Did I accidentally walk into the season finale of a very dramatic telenovela? Chris became visibly red-faced and extremely agitated, and the intensity of the interaction was completely disproportionate to what was actually happening. I was simply a customer trying to ask a question, and suddenly I was on the receiving end of a level of anger I absolutely did not expect. At that point, the fashion fantasy was officially over. I did not feel comfortable or safe, so I left. And honestly? The 50-foot mannequin was the highlight of the entire experience. Market Market had me at Jeremy Scott and lost me somewhere around PSBS. If you're looking for liquor, I'd shop elsewhere and compare prices. But if you're looking for an unforgettable retail drama involving fashion, a giant mannequin, and an unexpected cashier confrontation... Well. Welcome to the novela.

Unfortunately, from the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome and like I was being watched the entire time. At first, I tried to brush it off and thought maybe I was just overthinking it. What really changed that for me was when I went to leave. I said "thank you" and walked toward the door, only to find that the door had been locked and I couldn't freely exit. That was extremely uncomfortable and honestly made me feel like my initial impression wasn't just in my head. As someone who works locally and has many clients in the Palm Springs area, I'm always happy to support and recommend local businesses. Certain pieces in the racks of "too much print and color" were quite pretty, but having so much stuffed into the shop was a mistake. It made reviewing the pieces difficult, and gave an overall sense of gauche to the room. Service was non-existent during my time in the store, and the price was laughable. One piece in particular, a super cute wooden bracelet, reminded me of something my grandmother owned in the 80's and had purchased at a garage sale. Nothing I would ever pay $38 for, ever. I wouldn't return to Frippery.
