This is an update to my earlier review. After failing to reach the owner over a period of time, I finally made contact. Long story short, first she had no record of me despite the fact that I had a written copy of our consignment agreement. She was unable to provide any information about any of the items that I left her told me that she had a lot of files at home and will get back to me soon. I had to reach out to her again. Again more delays. Finally, she found my contract informed me that she had sold, two of the handbags, and without ever contacting me to give me an opportunity to pick them up, allegedly donated them. And for which she, not I, got the charitable donation for taxes. She finally sent me payment for the two handbags that, incidentally, we're worth far more than what I received even after subtracting her commission. I have no proof of sale. This business is not professionally run, and I would never go there again, or recommend it to others. read more

Linda is one of the most unprofessional business owner I have ever dealt with. If you are thinking about putting items on consignment with her I would advise not to do business with her. She is argumentative,unorganized and extremely rude. She has a million reasons why she can't pay you after she sells your item. Even though her employee told me to come on that date to pick up a check. I insisted on getting paid and after about 45 minutes of her excuses she finally wrote me a check. I will never step foot in that place again. read more

This was by far my favorite consignment store in Palm Desert when it comes to price, service and selection. Tons of Chanel and LV, Dior, mostly accessories, purses, costume jewelry etc. Located right on the main road, open 11-5 daily. Worth checking out if you love high end fashion at bargain prices. read more

The owner Linda is so nice and extremely helpful pulling together outfits from the clothes in the store. She takes great pride in selecting top designers and styles from her clients. I was very impressed with such beautiful designer clothing at amazing prices. Many items are NWT ( new with tag). There are also hand bags, shoes and jewelry to accessorize your outfit. Every time I have entered this store I spot something as I walk in the door. Today it was a pair of shoes just in the window showcase. This is my favorite place to find high quality designer clothing, shoes , bags, hats, sunglasses, jewelry, and accessories all in excellent condition. Great place to recycle pieces you no longer use. Call to make an appointment. The reason I like this store is that the owner has a good eye. She only selects pieces that look great. Not everything is new but, it looks new. All the racks are well organized by designer and size. The store is always well kept and she is very knowledgeable of her products. Her pricing is very affordable. Every piece I have purchased here, I get compliments on. I don't want to list each and every designer line she has represented but you will find St John, Escada, Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and many many more. Part of the allure of Palm Springs + is the hunt of vintage/consignment fashion pieces. I drove by Affordable Designer Consignments by accident Thursday afternoon and had a delightful visit, trying on various pieces and speaking with the owner. While some pieces are higher priced based on the label (and rightly so), I was happy to discover a robust sales rack with pieces marked half-off. A Tapp vest, Bebe tank and Frank Lyman zip-up, each unique and top quality totalled $55.00. There is a beautiful assortment of the big names St. Johns, Gucci, in perfect condition. The owner has added Chanel-like accessories for extra touches. I will return the next time I'm in town and recommend this as a place to check out. read more

My wife wanted to make sure we got back to this store this year, because last year we found some great deals. This time, she was only looking for a few items, i.e. New Year's Eve attire and summer dresses. Once again the selection and quality of the outfits was excellent and my wife went home happy, finding a pair of velvet Escada evening pants, a few Chico's t-shirts, a St John sweater, and a gorgeous Karen Kane summer dress. All for a fraction of the original price. She was tempted by a few beautiful belts, and shoes as well. The owner was in attendance this year and she was very pleasant to work with. She spent a lot of time helping us out. She knows her inventory and size of the various designers very well. This year the store even has one rack of men's clothing. I found two very attractive silk shirts. Very high end - an embroidered camp shirt from Tommy Bahama and geometrical print from Tori Richard of Hawaii. They were like brand new. Not super cheap - but likely for 60-70% off the original price. I'm sure we will shop at Designer Consignments again next year. read more

I had a fun time looking for items here. The nice lady working there left us alone until we needed her and then when the time was right, she provided excellent service. I will go back. Prices were great and I was able to find some good items. I bought 2 shirt type "jackets" for under $40 so I'd call it very reasonable. The only downside was the heat. The AC was on minimally so I got too hot to try on more clothes. This is not unusual in the desert tho. I will be heading back! read more

I called the store and was told to bring my designer handbags into the owner to look at on Tuesdays between there certain hours of operation. I proceeded to do so on the day recommended and the hours suggested without any mention by the employee of needing an appointment. When I entered the store the owner gave me a dirty look and said "My employee told you to make an appointment" in a very rude and condescending voice. I told her I was not told to make an appointment but she insisted that I was. I have never encountered such a rude owner of a business. She practically threw myself and my designer handbags out of her store when I insisted I did not know about an appointment. I found it quite unusual for her to act this way since there were no other people in her store. The merchandise looked worn and the owners attitude was anything but welcoming! I would never shop or enter the store again and certainly would not recommend anyone wasting their time. read more

I brought 4 organized boxes of clean, neatly folded clothing from my upscale wardrobe (and my mom's, we're moving to France). They went through the clothing, bunching it all up so it was unshareable. The fact that did not want one item was okay, but the way they ruined nice clothing is unforgivable. read more

Awful service. When I entered the shop the lady who worked there (or owner) just looked at me, barely acknowledged me. She spoke with other customers. I found two adorable dresses on the half off rack that I planned on purchasing. When I was ready I let her know where I found the dresses, she challenged it and said that it was in a different rack. I showed her where I found them, she responded by saying that they must have been misplaced. Even though I purchased one she never said thank you nor was she pleasant. read more

Love this place! They have super nice stuff at much lower rates than retail prices. It isn't the cheapest consignment store. However, the items that they have are designer labels. If I am every passing through the desert again, this spot will be back on my itinerary. read more

BEWARE! I went to this establishment (Affordable Designer Consignments) to put up for consignment only six dresses & one pant suit, which were either new or like-new, and dry-cleaned. After handing out the form that was provided to me listing the garments to the lady in charge, I hung around for a bit expecting to be informed about their pricing protocols, or anything else I'd need to know re their other procedures, etc. The attendant was anything but informative while inspecting the garments. Finally she said that it was not necessary for me to be there anymore; so I asked if she was supposed to complete the list (which was short) that I handed her with whatever relevant information, so that I could get a copy of it. She just said that she would tag the clothing at a later time, and that, if I wished, I could go thru the racks in order to have an idea of how their pricing was done. After six or seven weeks, not having heard from them, I called to ask about the status of my clothes; and the lady said that only one of my dresses had been sold and that I had a check there of my 50% share. I then asked how or when I was supposed to know when anything of mine is sold. She said condescendingly that it was indicated in the contract--that people are the ones responsible for calling every month-- but that "people never really read the contract". I said that the so-called contract, which is only a one-pager in large letters, only says that "checks are issued the fourth Friday" but no mention that people should call at that time or any other time for that matter. At the end of the third month, I called requesting if I could have my property back, and asked how they would handle that, if they would pull them back from the rack and I would pick it up. She then said: "you are the one that needs to do that - go thru the racks and get them" - "that if she were to do that for everyone she would not have time to do her work." That to me sounded to say the least rude and demeaning. So I went to get my garments and one of them was missing (a new Sun dress that even had their tags on it). She told me to call sometime the following week to see if the dress had turned up. I then asked that if not found I could be somehow compensated for it, like have a comparable item from the store. Then she said, of course not, that would be other people's property, that the best she could do was to give me a donation form for tax purposes. It was like saying: It's OK to lose your dress, but we have to respect other people's property." As suggested by her, I called the following week and spoke to another lady in the store who didn't know anything about the lost dress and said she would pass on the message to "Linda" who didn't bother to return my call. If you value your possessions I definitely do not recommend doing business with them, as they are impolite and unprofessional at best. read more

You can browse to your heart's content, and at the right moment, there is a hand out to take your selections to a clean, comfortable dressing room. Great service and patient advice. I have been using this store to consign clothing and accessories since they opened, not only do they sell most of what I take in I usually find something for myself while I am in the store. Linda is honest and trustworthy about what she sells and what she donates. Her quality of merchandise is always in the best condition and fresh and new things come in all the time.
