Bright cheery place with very good food. Much, much better than you expect to find when you pull off the interstate for the night. They bring out excellent, warm chips and authentic salsa (flavorful liquid tomato w/ chunks and scallions) while you order. My wife enjoyed her burrito. I I dropped by for lunch and although the service was excellent the food was not. Salsa was like chunky bland soup. Rice and beans were mediocre, tortillas were flavorless and slightly undercooked, and the chicken mole looked like leftover Chinese food in enchilada sauce with random chunks of vegetables. We stayed at the hotel next door and they recommended eating there. The nachos were warm and the salsa was spicy and really good. I ate the seafood chimichanga and it was awesome until I tried a bite of my husbands meal. It was on a huge tray/plate, had a piece of tilapia crab legs, octopus, shrimp, mushroom. Man was it good. I was recommended this place by a friend and I was skeptical because I'd learned my lesson about eating at Mexican restaurants in the wrong states. Basically, if Trump doesn't want to build a wall in that state, don't order the mexican food. Maybe it was an off night. If I could give it no stars I would - just being honest. We had just settled in next door at the Lonesome Dove and walked over for a rita and a bite to eat. It wasn't that cold outside and all we were wearing were sweater style coverings but when we walked in the door at Margaritas we immediately exclaimed UGH. Sweat on the inside of the windows sort of temperatures. I hope they were having an off night because I ordered tacos al carbon and we both ordered margaritas. I'm a rita snob. I've partaken of margaritas from coast to coast and border to border - I know margaritas. These were the furthest from anything that resembled a margarita. We couldn't even drink them. The only one of us that enjoyed the stop is our 2 year old granddaughter who colored her way through the visit. We were there in early October 2018. read more

Charming and Delicioso!! Truck driver passing through town. Saw the good reviews on yelp. I'm glad I decided to stop in. Parked truck next to McDonalds and walked next door to Margaritas. Walked in and was greeted by a wonderful hostess. The first thing I noticed was the bar. The menu is full of good options. Placed a to go order for Fajita Salad with Chicken. OMG it was freakin awesome. Also ordered Chips and Queso dip, very good. The cook likes to sing to the tunes on the stereo and he sounds good. Who would've thought you can find great Mexican food in Nebraska? We had to stop in Ogallala to charge our car, and it was 100 degrees out, so walking options for lunch were between Margaritas or McDonalds. I quickly checked Yelp & was psyched to see great reviews for this place. It absolutely lives up to the hype! Mole was fabulous, as were my sons' burritos. If you go here and more then half the tables are full, walk out and go somewhere else. That is unless you have a couple hours to spare. The food here is good, the margaritas are weak, but there aren't many other choices around. If your order is wrong, or for some unforseen reason every order after yours comes out first, don't expect an apology or for them to even care. read more

Excellent place. We went over lunch on a weekday. Menu prices are very reasonable (and an amazing variety too!). Tons of vegetarian options. We had a fresh house margarita. The service was outstanding. Definitely worth a visit if you're stopping through town. read more

Decent Mexican food, somewhat slow service. The menu has lots of options, both standard tex-mex and a wide selection of more authentic options. I had the steak tampiquenos, which was skirt steak, beans, and a chicken mole enchilada. The mole sauce was unflavorful, but everything else was pretty good. There was a little pico sauce on the plate which had some kick to it. I recommend getting guacamole to go with the chips. read more

We stopped here while on route from Colorado to Wisconsin. Great service - food was delicious! Best chicken mole I've ever had! Asked for an order of chips and a Diet Pepsi to go and they did not charge us for that. The desserts sounded wonderful - but we were too full to try any. The food was "meh." I guess no one in Nebraska has ever seen real Mexican food. Perhaps a road-trip to one of the other 3 Margaritas restaurants in the Denver Metro is in order. The wait staff had a very difficult time splitting the check in half. Food: 1 star. Service: 3 stars. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because at least they tried, and were friendly throughout the dining experience. Unfortunately, I can't really recommend this restaurant--unless you don't have any other choice. But, there's a McDonalds right next door. ;) read more

We left Texas for Nevada a year ago, and we were really missing good Mexican food. Amazingly, we found it at Margaritas in Nebraska! We were there on Taco Tuesday, so we both had beef tacos. The shells were crisp and the ingredients were fresh. We ordered a side of queso with jalapeños, and it was delicious. We are already planning a return visit on our way back home! I would give it five stars except for the housefly that kept nagging us while we ate. read more
