You feel like you are in a Mexican Hacienda.

If you haven't been here in a while because they weren't up to par, like us, give them another try. They turned things around and have top shelf service and food. They have new plates and glassware now. Delicious and flavorful, steak fajitas and outstanding margaritas. The bartender poured the drinks stout too. Place was clean and servers were very attentive and friendly. Margaritas has an elegant Mexican decor with tall ceilings and stucco walls. This place is the best Mexican restaurant in Tipton county.

Salasa was a bit cold. Had hard time getting it out. But other than that it was good.

This restaurant didn't measure up today, when it came to the flavor and real beef in my order of Enchiladas. Those Enchiladas didn't have any flavor, and the so-called beef in them were not beef at all. They didn't taste like any beef that I'm accustomed to eating. There is no telling what type of meat that was , (Dog, Cat, or Horse Meat possibly?!!!. Needless to say, I will not be visiting there anymore.

Driving down Hwy 51, you see a hacienda style building. Your 5 senses are awakened soon as you get out of your car. Mexican music wafting thru the air as you approach the building and throughout the dining room, Mexican art on the walls. The smell of salsa coming from the tables, not to mention your taste buds coming to life as you taste the salsa served at the table along with home made chips. Out server,Destiny, was very engaging and attentive. The food came out quickly and piping hot. I had the pollo borracho,(druken chicken)which is a chicken breast drenched in a tequila sauce topped with bacon and melted queso blanco, served with mexican rice, refried beans and (here's the 5th sense)home made warm tortillas. The wife had the fajita quesadillas that she couldn't finish (it was so big). Wash that all down with a Fiesta margarita and a glass of zinfandel and you're set. Worth the drive.

Very solid Mexican place. We come here anytime we visit from Houston. We find that Margaritas gives even our favorite TX places a run for the money. (Especially for fajitas or their Molcajete special) Their margaritas and cheese dips are very tasty. No better place in town for Mexican food.

This is a stellar Mexican restaurant. I visit whenever I'm in town from Houston, Texas, which should tell you a lot. Great margaritas, bean dip and fajitas! My favorite item to order is the molcajete. Beef fajitas, chicken fajitas, shrimp, panela cheese, nopales and chorizo come sizzling in a lava-rock stone bowl (it's called a molcajete). Give it a try!

The chips were greasy along with everything else. The service was slow, and they don't seem to friendly.

He told me their chips and salsa aren't like what you get in most Mexican restaurants, and that they make their salsa in house. I was confused, because I was like, What do you mean your chips and salsa aren't like chips and salsa? But I get it now, and they really aren't. The chips are totopos, and the salsa is a very flavorful, thin pureed sauce that has been cooked or roasted-- not sure exactly how they make it, but there is cooking and technique involved for sure. They were SO GOOD. So delicious-- I have an Oaxaca restaurant nearish me, and now I can't wait to try it. I ordered the ceviche, which came with the totopos. I asked for more salsa verde and glad I did. They do charge for extra salsa (if your order comes with it, they give you a little of each the red and green). Glad I did because it was SO GOOD. I licked the container for real. If I ever come back to Covington it would be to come here and have the exact same thing. I took a star off because I didn't like the service.

Orders are always ready when they say. The only reason I'm not giving a 5-star rating is because I recently veered off from street tacos (of which I'm a connoisseur, if I do say so myself) to try other menu items and I wasn't all that impressed. I'd recommend sticking to the street tacos, which are amazing every time. Great job, Jose (or whatever your name actually is :).

ABSOLUTE SLOP... I gave this restaurant three tries. The…read morefirst two attempts were mediocre at best, but I just got done eating the absolutely ***WORST*** Mexican "cuisine" meal of my life tonight, and trust me, I've eaten more Mexican food out than any other cuisine, stretching the entire United States, and a few in Mexico itself. I ordered al a carte as I typically do (for the variety and to see if they can do multiple dishes well). I received three main course items sloppily placed into a single container drowning in a chili powder and salt heavy sauce such that I could not taste the tortilla or protein...it all tasted like a chili powder salt lick (btw, I am NOT sensitive AT ALL to sodium...I have been home cooking for 3 decades and fully appreciate a well-seasoned dish). This was the worse slop I've ever eaten at a Mexican restaurant, and to boot, the meal cost $20 for three al a carte items and a small side of rice. At the counter, I asked for a small side of their spiciest salsa (which I always do) and they up-charged me $2 for a literally a single two ounce serving of what appeared to be their house salsa with a ton of guess what....a handful of chili powder in it. Their prices are absolute highway robbery for the quality of food they are serving, and it's quite obvious that since they are the only Mexican restaurant in this entire county, they are gouging the local Caucasian population that doesn't know any better. At this quality, their prices should be half of what they are, and if that were the case, you still wouldn't find me eating there. You'll get no more chances from me, you low-quality scam artists. Bye and good riddance.

Seems there's some weird disconnect going on I wasn't aware of... This location is now going by Las Mexicanos instead of Los Comales. Looks like almost all new staff too, that could definitely use some Customer Service training. The menu has a 3rd name on it that seemed off as well. I was not told to come to the hostess stand to be seated, no friendly greeting when I did approach the stand. Once seated, the chip & salsa dude was quick enough in dripping them off w/out so much as a greeting. Maybe he's the silent type? Who knows? 2 Now the real wait begins.... Nothing to drink nor any sign of anyone even slowing down @ my table to take a drink order. Maybe they were fighting to see who would take my order? ‍ I was almost finished w/the basket of chips, decided what I wanted and LAID THE CLOSED MENU on the other side of the table close to the edge, hoping someone would notice. I had decided if they couldn't be bothered to come by the time I finished the chips I was leaving. Magically a waitress finally shows up w/3 chips to spare. Placed the order for water and dinner at the same time. Dinner came out quickly but looking pitiful w/barely a full tablespoon of guac, tomatoes or sour cream. Cheap bastards! The flour part of the chimichanga was NOT CRISP, & I was given plastic utensils to maneuver this sad plate. I have eaten here MANY times as I live in the area so I am more than disappointed w/this experience. Not a single customer sitting in the middle @ the 4-tops & @ least 7 booths empty; on a Saturday night @ 8:00 pm. Sad that they have lost so much business, I'll think twice before considering spending my money here again.
