Kianiya, our waitress, went somewhere else and we didn't see her for another 15 minutes and then she finally came back and took our order. We wanted to try this again since the renovation to ihop and Applebees to give them a chance since our previous experiences were not that good. Our server Macy was very attentive and sweet. My husband ordered breakfast and it was good but the coffee was cold. My burger was good but fries were not hot. Food tasted good. Table was sticky. It just seems that Applebees doesn't really care about excellence or making customers want to return. As there aren't many restaurants in the area this is a huge opportunity to be successful. We are sitting here waiting for our food ... 1:23 on Sunday afternoon. We've been here for more than an hour already. And have been waiting ... and waiting ... and waiting. There are only about 7 tables seated in the whole restaurant, so they're not that busy. They are obviously short handed, as there are only about 2 waiters and no hostess on duty. Everyone that walks in has to stand at the unattended hostess stand for about 5 minutes or more. Our waitress is really trying, but there's only so much she can do by herself. If this location hopes to stay in business, they'd better make some major changes real soon. They need to get more help, one way or another or the few customers you have will eventually quit coming. Edit: After sitting there for over an hour and a half, we finally just had to leave. Here's how our visit went, from start to finish - Walked in 12:30pm. Party of 4. Waited for about 4-5 minutes at hostess stand to be seated. Sat at table with menus and no acknowledgement of any kind from anyone for almost 20 minutes. A lady finally came by and asked if our drink order had been taken. It hadn't, so she took it. And since we'd been sitting there for so long, we knew what we wanted and she suggested we might want to go ahead and order, so we did. She brought our drinks out about 6-7 minutes later. We never saw her again. A couple more tables were seated during that time. About 15 minutes later, an appetizer of onion rings was dropped off, without any comment. Had to call out, "ketchup, please" as the guy walked away. Never got any ketchup. About 30 minutes later, a young man came to the table to say, basically, "we're short handed, so please be patient and please don't give your waitress a hard time." ?? We hadn't even seen her again, much less given anyone a hard time. We actually said we understood, as we've been servers in the past. We were trying to be extremely patient and understanding. A few minutes later, the table across from us, that had been seated after us, got their food and began eating. We waited. After about 10 more minutes, the other table that had come in after us received their food, too. We waited. We weren't waiting for a steak to cook or anything difficult or time consuming. We ordered a cheeseburger, chicken tenders and a plate of nachos. After another 20-25 minutes passed by and we had not seen or heard anything from anyone about any food coming or about what the delay in our particular order was, we laid some money on the table to cover our drinks and onion rings and left. I have never left a restaurant in my life. But waiting over an hour and a half with no food and minimal communication from anyone, we had to go find somewhere else to eat. We were starving. I had just said, that morning, "if people don't patronize the Applebee's in Covington, it's not going to make it." So I thought we'd try to help by taking our business there. Now I see why the parking lot is almost always empty. What a shame. read more

WOOOOOOORST SERVICE EVER! I've been here 3-4 time and every time I regret my decision. Waited 20 minutes for a salad, she brings it out In a Togo box with the dressing in Togo containers because "someone put it to go" and not the correct order, it was missing the meat (i even repeated the order for her twice so she wouldn't miss it up) Never fills my drink. I waited another 5-10 minutes and had to leave because it's lunch time and I don't have 2 hours to wait on the food. Literally got here early for lunch so I could enjoy my lunch and I wasted my whole lunch time on waiting on a grilled chicken and shrimp salad. And they weren't busy I think including me there were 8 tables and quite a few waiters to cover them all, I could have served all those tables myself. Manager really needs to work on staff and getting lunch meals out on time. Also if someone put it to go then ask them to fix it. You don't bring it out that way. Common sense. Do not give your debit or credit card to servers for payments. My debit card info was copied then sold the next day and my account was probed. My bank account was wiped out over $1000 for the purchase of purses. It's now believed that the staff are running an organized crime organization and selling customers card info off because they can't be caught unless Applebee's corporate intervenes. We (my husband & I) frequent this Applebees and I would give the servers and food a 4-5 star, but the restaurant's management needs to improve. They need to do better at keeping the tables, floors and restrooms clean. Also, one if the last times we went my husband upgraded one of his sides to onion rings for an additional $1.99. When the food came my French fries were piled high, maybe even two whole potatoes worth yet his onion rings looked majorly skimpy. Even the server questioned it when she served it to him. She went back to ask and was told by management that that is all they give. 5 onion rings! This is crazy especially considering the upcharge and how the size of onions can vary so so much. I could go to any fast food place and get more rings than that! I just checked the cost of the Bloomin' Onion at Outback Steakhouse, of all places, and it's only $9.99 for what's a whole big onion! The next time we came to this Applebees we asked about it and after checking with management again we're told that if we want another 5 rings we could pay another fee if $1.79 in addition to the $1.99. I could bag a bag o f onions for than, possibly even organic ones. That's insane. If this is an Applebees policy, they need to fix it. It's pretty dumb. If I could give this Applebee's a -100 I would certainly do so. Best advice I can give is just don't even try it. I just can not for the life of me understand why it would take over a hour to get a salad/soup and some wanton tacos that were supposed to have onion rings with them. Not to say that the other two people in our party also ordered a salad and a burger and fries that took another 15 minutes to come to the table. This is the second time that I have come to this place to get dinner. I was not happy the first time and now I'm not happy on a second time. So I thought it was time to give them a yelp that will hopefully help their manager change the way they run this place. First, I went in there a month ago to get food for my husband and I and I had to wait for our food for 45 minutes. There was hardly any customers in there and it seemed like everybody was goofing around in the back kitchen. The girl that was taking the order was moving very slow. This time I ordered it online and my husband went there to pick it up 15 minutes after timeframe that they were supposed to have it ready. They never got the order. My family has eaten here many times and it's usually a great experience. Tonight was an experience that ruined our "family night tradition" Our server was one we've never had, (young girl with a braided ponytail) She was nice as could be until I asked her if our food was coming anytime soon (we ordered an hour ago) She shrugged it off and went to take the order of a table that was just sat... I'll give her that... she was quick to take orders, and then poof she disappears. A few minutes later she returns with 2 of the 5 meals ordered and said the sauce for the prime rib dip is "still cooking" so I asked "still? It's been over an hour, but where is the rest of our food?" To which she huffed "it's ready, I'm just really busy"... umm what?! About 10 minutes later she returned with mine and the other 2 kids food and disappeared yet again. Our food was cold needless to say. I was furious, none of us could stomach more than a couple bites and so I flagged her down and asked for the check. After another 15 minutes she comes back to cash us out and I asked her if she was gonna be able to get our card back to us quickly... she grabs a table paying thing and sits it in front of me and said "since I'm not fast enough you can pay here" fair enough! The waiter had no idea what we had ordered he just went around table to table trying to figure out which table had ordered which food and not to mention the way he was carrying the plates made the food touch his clothing. I love this location a lot. Very friendly staff! Normally come to this location for lunch- right when they open, food takes a tad longer but it is completely hot and fresh, so I don't complain. Let me tell you about our experience last night me and my husband decided to go there for our anniversary we pulled up to the parking lot got out and went through the front door and waited to be seated there was no hostess at the front desk so we waited there for like a good 10 minutes and there was a young girl sweeping the floor in front of the desk she look up and we look at her and she went back to sweeping the floor we waited another 10 minutes before she came to us so that we could be seated. She gives us our menu's so that we could order after she did that she went on the otherside of the restaurant and started back sweeping the floor again she didn't give us in silverware or asked us what we wanted to drink. We sat there waited for 30 minutes there was alot of people in the restaurant and we where the only customer's in her area my husband had to call over another waitress that was coming from the back to ask her do we have a waitress and she said yes let me go get her she finally show up about 10 minutes later to take our order. We told her what we wanted and she left, our food came out my husband got we ordered and one more thing she never told us her name in the begin so we couldn't tell anyone who our waitress was,now back to the food order my food came but I didn't get everything I ordered one thing was left off it was my Macaroni and cheese she said oh it was my fault I left it in the window I will go get it she left and didn't come back I waited once again for about 20 minutes for my mac&cheese and didn't get it our waitress for whom we don't know her name was wiping the table behind us asked us is everything all good my husband said no my wife still doest have her mac&cheese and once again she said I'll go get it finally she brings it out and it's not mac&cheese I don't know it the chef knows the difference between mac&cheese and Alfredo sauce and noodles because that's what it was Alfredo noodles and sauce I told my husband I'm ready to go and in order for me to get a to go box we had to get it from a waiter because ours never came back.This was the worst service we have ever had at this restaurant this happen between the hours of 10p.m. and 11p.m. we we left out of the restaurant and we looked to the left half of the staff was outside playing and sitting down outside and there and behold our waitress sitting outside this was so messed up I will never be back at this time again the night shift is horrible on the weekends now. read more

We went in for dinner, and ordered off the two for twenty menu. We were excited to sit out and enjoy a meal. Service was a little bit rocky, but whatever. Anyways, we ordered the burger off the two for twenty, a 4 oz steak well done, and a 6 oz steak off the two for twenty that was supposed to be medium. We got our food two plates at a time, about five or ten minutes apart. The burger came out and she took three bites and the middle was raw, completely pink. The steaks came out on the wrong plates, because the kitchen plated them the wrong way. When we brought it to the servers attention, she said she asked the kitchen and they said it was right. Which led to her taking the steak back, and having the kitchen cook it a little longer, we got the 6 oz when she was supposed to get 4 oz well done. We got the steak back and it was STILL NOT COOKED THE RIGHT WAY. FINALLY my sisters boyfriend got his steak and it was well done. They had them switched up. We got everything and he had to have them recook the steak bc he doesn't like well done steaks. I don't blame him. You ordered something a certain way and the kitchen/ staff can't cook it or plate it the right way. There's a big problem. So we called the manager over, who said that she was going to help us out by taking off the burger, and doing something about the steaks. NONE of the above was done. We had 8$ taken off our order. Which was bullshit. We couldn't enjoy our meal together because your kitchen messed up and you can't handle taking responsibility and compensating customers for a mess up done by staff at your restaurant???
