If I could give 1/2 a star I would. First off my wife ordered over the phone and asked if they offer curbside delivery and they told her yes just call when your outside. I called 97 TIMES before someone finally answered! In between the calls a worker walked outside to his car and was going back in when I told him I'm waiting to pick up my order, he tells me I have to go inside! Believe that S---! Go inside while there's social distancing going on. That was the point of curbside. So after the 97th call they answer and come out with my food. I should've checked it but I was annoyed so I just took it home. Well I get home and there's NO F---ing Guacamole!!! Charge me $10 for guacamole and then don't put it in the bag! Well wasn't going to drive the 15 min back to only have to call 97 more times! Needless to say I will NEVER GO BACK to this place. The portions were tiny and the food was cold! The reason I would've given it 1/2 a star is the nachos. Absolutely the WORST service!! Long story short: I was there tonight with a friend and the bill was $75, I decided to treat. The waiter (Luis) comes back two minutes later apologizing that he charged me for the table next to us ($297!!!!!!!) and my $75 too. He voided the $297 transaction but the damage was obviously done! They didn't offer anything in return just a half ass apology and I have to wait 2-3 business days for my money to be out back into my account. Randomly found this place as we were nearby and followed fellow Yelp reviews. It didn't disappoint. Drinks were tasty - I had the pina colada and it wasn't too sweet. Service was attentive and staff was friendly. Food was tasty enough for an elevated Tex-mex or at least that's what it seemed to be. I had fajitas and the tortillas with the rice and beans were tasty. They had table side guacamole and the chips are nice and crunchy. Justin M and I decided to check this place out one night for HH. They've got some good specials on drinks. We started off with the guacamole which is a generous portion for the price. We proceeded to get entrees at the bar since the place was packed and we were already sitting down. Justin got the fajitas which looked awesome and I got tacos which I demolished!! They were so good! I recommend them! All in all, a nice place to go to! The bartenders were nice, the food and drinks were good and they even have a mariachi band going around! How fun! Last night was my first time at this margaritas cafe location. I've been to the one in east meadow and that one was a lot better. The guacamole looked like someone ate half and sent it back to the kitchen. There was half a bowl! We looked around and saw other people had bigger portions but we didn't say anything. Not worth it. The drinks are good not very strong though. However when we went last night it was $3 for a house margarita frozen or on the rocks. I had four and was not drunk. 4 margaritas should make me drunk lol. Food was alright my enchilada was good but kinda small even though I didn't finish (I never finish food at restaurants but then have lunch the next day!). There was not a lot of steak as I imagined there would be Service was ok. I've had better, had worse. the napkins on the table were dirty and the water glasses had a spec on the inside. Our waitress ran my credit card for another table. It was an accident but she didn't apologize or anything. Also it was my moms birthday, they sang and brought a crappy dessert we did not order and they charged us $6. We never ordered it so we should not have been charged. Adios, Margaritas Cafe! After being loyal customers for several years, my family and I will no longer be patronizing this business after being served nothing but a nasty attitude on a recent Saturday night visit. With the understanding that the small space that is Margaritas Cafe gets crowded at night, my party of 4 made a reservation. Upon arriving and confirming our reservation, we spent some time at the bar until it was closer to our actual reservation time. Once our reservation time passed and noticing that there were some empty tables but still groups of people waiting, we inquired about the status of our table, only to get a nasty response from the host - who is supposedly also the restaurant's Director of Operations. The seating arrangements and reservations seemed to be quite disorganized on this night, and rather than offer an apology for the restaurant's disorganization, the host brushed us off and refused to work to offer a solution - even after waiting an hour. This level of customer service was inappropriate and unprofessional, and ultimately the reason why we decided to leave the restaurant. After this experience, it is evident that Margaritas Cafe does not care about its customers. read more

Had been reluctant to visit since I still wished it was the ivy cottage. However, friends and neighbors had nice things to say about margaritas, so I thought I'd give it a try for lunch. The space is tight but nicely decorated and clean. Really enjoyed the fresh chips and salsa while we waited for our meal. I was able to enjoy the burrito mojado, which was filled with steak, cheese & guac. It came accompanied with small salad & rice. Everything was delicious, didn't really care for the greens but I left my plate clean. Also had a chance to try the quesadilla appetizer with chicken which was a bit greasy, but still delicious. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. I'll always remember the place as the old ivy cottage, but I look forward to my next visit to margaritas. read more

We'll, that was terrible. I dont often feel compelled to write a negative review, but I'm making an exception in this case. This was so bad I nearly got up and walked out. My wife and I were feeling so suffocated by the end of our meal because our waiter was nowhere in sight and everyone around us was in a horrible mood because they have been waiting for their food for over an hour (at least). It started out pretty good. A decent happy hour special and a lively atmosphere. Immediately upon sitting down the table next to us began telling their waiter they would never come back, no matter how many coupons they were offered. (Coupons?!) Then, after waiting for an hour for our appetizer and starting at empty drinks and an empty chip basket, our server appeared and asked "how is everything?" The chips were ok I guess but we reminded him that we ordered other things. When the food finally arrived it was just bad. Salty, goopy, I think mine had a cut up hot dog in it, and it featured a pinch of shredded lettuce to dress it up a bit. We picked a little and then asked for the check. We asked again, and then my wife got up to wait outside because she was going to freak out. I got up and stood by the bus station and then the hostess had to come over and arrange to get us our check. I was a pain in the ass standing in everyone's way but we just had to get out of there. I had a wonderful experience at this location. The staff is friendly and the food is phenomenal. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was completely empty. We were immediately seated and gave our orders. The staff is very attentive, since this is a new location you do get more reliable service. I had the usual Guava margarita which was delicious. It was way stronger than the East Meadow location. The Marquita's as an appetizer was great but I personally felt like the beef was too dry for me. The service was excellent. The wait staff was very attentive even though it was a busy night. I have mixed reviews for the food. My daughter had the steak fajita and it was very good. The steak was tender and flavorful. My wife's fish taco was average. They only give one shell and one of them broke apart. I had the Arroz con pollo which was very disappointing. It looked exactly like their side dish of rice and beans except it had more rice and a few pieces of overcooked, dry chicken that did not have much taste. It was the type of chicken pieces you find in fried rice except there were only 4 or 5 very small chunks in the entire dish. Margarita's opened up in a spot that has changed 5 times over since the end of The Ivy Cottage (RIP). I haven't tried the other Margarita's Cafe throughout the area but my girlfriend and I decided to try the newest one for HH on a Friday night. I arrived about 6:00 pm and the place was packed! The bar was filled but I managed to snag us two seats. They have a few HH specials including I discount Margaritas and Mexican beer. Our bartender was OK but we ended up with two bartenders by the end of the night and the second was much better. As for the food, we started with some chips and guacamole which was priced perfectly for the portion size. The guac was fresh and tasty, I suggest serving it with some limes next time for an extra punch. I ordered the chicken fajitas that came out on a sizzling cast iron and smelt awesome. I ended up only finishing half considering how much food came with the entree order. My girlfriend destroyed her tacos and loved every minute of it. I was suggest coming back here anytime- the space is a little cramped and small but worth it in my opinion considering the extensive menu and fresh/tasty food. read more

This has been an unlucky spot to open a restaurant after the closing of the neighborhood stalwart, Ivy Cottage. But I think the luck is finally changing and a few restaurants later, Margarita's may have a chance. A few challenges off the bat are the lack of parking and that the space itself is somewhat limited to long and narrow. But they've done the most they can with the space and the décor inside has been fully transformed to a modern, classy, and festive Mexican theme. The staff were very friendly but clearly they are still working out some kinks and learning. The pricing is just about right for the cuisine (which is smart since when coupled with the good service you just naturally want to tip more generously). The gratis basket of tortilla chips and salsa gets you started off right. I found the salsa to be pretty mild but probably better than burning your tongue off before your meal. Of course we ordered the freshly made guacamole. This was probably the weakest part of the meal - it was a bit bland. I got the combo fajitas which is chicken, steak, and shrimp. The waiter surprisingly didn't realize the side accoutrements were for the fajitas and we had to help him out. The tortilla wrap was initially forgotten but they brought that right out. The steak was cooked to order - surprising since it was a relatively small piece. My friend got the chicken only fajita and the overall quantity of my combo appeared equivalent to his. The fajitas fillings were tasty - the tortilla was warm and soft. Plenty of guac, sour cream, pico de gallo, rice, and refried beans with cheese for toppings. My wife got the salmon salad and she said it was very good. She liked that it was lightly seasoned and cooked nicely. Since it was her birthday, the staff came around and boisterously sang happy birthday in English and Spanish. They put a massive sombrero on her head and then proceeded to pour a shot of tequila out of the bottle into her mouth. Awesome. The tres leches cake was indeed awesome. Overall - good times. You know when you get home and realize how bad the food was except for the service and nachos. This is one of those never to go back places. Then you wonder why didn't you go to your favorite in this case Mexican restaurant. I ordered a frozen margarita it was made in one minute, totally machine made, no taste. We ordered the largest dinner for 2, a little of everything. Chicken warm , Steak?, shrimp,cold and a large length of ribs warm with it all swimming in a bbq sauce. ( let me throw up now). My son and his girlfriend made a reservation for dinner for 8pm this evening and they got there a little before 8. The hostess told them they didn't have a record of him calling and that he must have called the other location. However he checked the number and did call the correct restaurant. They made them wait for 40 minutes for a table. His girlfriend wanted to get something off the children's menu as she didn't care for Mexican food and the waiter said she had to be 12 to order from it. No surcharge option was offered which is usually customary. Considering they made them wait for 40 minutes this is horrible customer service to refuse to serve a meal. She ended up eating nothing but chips. My son's food was very good so that's why the 2 stars however the customer service was lacking considerably. It's one thing to make an error with the reservations but to not accommodate a meal is ridiculous especially in lieu of the error they made. No one in my family will return to this location. The one in East Meadow is much better. read more

The fooood OMG the Foood! Our family went out for an early dinner Saturday night and we were plesenlty surprised! Honestly I just wanted a Margerita and some natchos buttttt we got so much more! We stared with the La Familla, after all I was there with my two boys and husband. There where no wings like the menu said but I honestly didn't even miss them. The nachos and fultas were incredible! I went for a burrito in a bowl to avoid the flour tortilla. You had to stop me from eating he the actual bowl it was so good. Hubby ordered the roppa vieja! - It was from God!!! The boys shared and quesiadia but we all shared our dishes. All you could hear was the ooos and ahhhs from our table. The restaurant is impeccably clean, the staff was friendly and joking around with the kids and I LOOOOVVVVE the decor! I would have given them 5 stars but the Margarita was a little juicy tasting...but that's just a personal taste thing because it sure did it's job ;-) if catch what I mean. Happy Mommy Margarita! We wanted to try Margaritas for a while and tried several times to get, unsuccessfully. We were hoping that three would be a charm. While we did get in, I would not say that the charm was there. Service was passable, at best. At one point it took at least 5 minutes to get a server's attention. Prices were also high for the level of the food and service.
