This place needs to close ASAP and the owner Marcy (who "groomed" my Maltese) needs to retire.
I should note before I detail my awful experience and horrible results that the reason I went to this place was it was close and had a few stars on Yelp, had I gone in before making the appointment I would've run.
Upon walking in the "salon" the first thing you'd notice is the smell of urine. Second, the urine on the floor, fixtures and walls. Third, the "decor" and merchandise that is for sale has faded and is covered in dust and hair from years of light & sun exposure (decades more likely). Fourth, if you care at all about the security of your personal information or credit card information then pay cash. As there is no one behind the desk and paperwork and customer files and personal info is scattered in piles (accessible to anyone taller than 3 feet) around the DOS computer system.
Now to the grooming portion. Not sure why Marcy bothered asking how I would like my Maltese cut as she only can produce a hack job (that one could bet high stakes was done by a 3 year old child while blindfolded). Upon my return to pick up my dog, I was appalled to see Marcy's "finished look/cut". I pointed out the two inch longer hairs in sections ranging from location on her paws, belly, shoulder, not to mention the lion mane on her chest. She then continued to scissor these parts off leaving various levels of lines of hair and lengths. Rather than cleaning her eyes, she chose not to and just said she did. Any tangled hair? Well, that was simply cut off leaving parts of her ear hair standing straight up. I kept pointing out areas that I couldn't believe were "finished" to fix them and when I saw that Marcy's "fixes" looked like she used a weed whacker I frustratingly said "just stop, I don't want anymore of her hair cut off". The instruction was to leave an inch. She was left with areas cut down to her skin while the remaining hair was cut to a 1/4 inch.
So, basically Marcy gladly will take her customers (or unsuspecting pet owners) money and hand over the worst groom your dog will ever have.
Lastly, Loya (my Maltese) didn't even smell like she'd been washed. read more
