Back when I lived on a 40-acre ranch in Northern California, I had plenty of space and other dogs around to help with the process. When my wife and I were fostering dogs in Michigan, she fell in love with a Miniature Pinscher mix named Obi. He was different from any dog I'd trained before, and without other dogs to help with training, it was a challenge. We needed Obi to be able to travel the world with us and assist my wife with her PTSD. Within six weeks, Fred from The Dog Wizard trained us on how to make Obi an incredible companion. The transformation was night and day. Now, Obi walks calmly by our side unless given the 'free' command. He accompanies us to stores, ignoring everything and everyone around him. One of his biggest issues was reacting to other dogs on leash--no longer a problem! Recently, we visited a crowded cider mill with hundreds of kids running around. Please do not let past reviews speak…read morefor today's staff- as everyone currently at Jagersbo was not at the business when the old reviews were posted. I began in November 2024, and I can say things must be different now than they used to be. For one, the groomer/manager (Missy C) is no longer with the business. I dont have any insight as to why, but I do know that based in reviews I've read here, there mustve been good reason. We do still offer baths, nail trims, and light grooming (removing mats, trimming paws/face, etc) but it is done by the kennel staff. Which brings me to my next point. The staff we currently have- are new to Jagersbo. We have staff with years of experience, who love these pups as much as our own. We love doing play times with them, and even do our best to get them outside with us even if they've already had their official play time. Or, if they're not much of an outside pup- we try to sit in their kennels with them for a moment, bring them in the office to hang out if we can, and give extra treats just for being good boys & girls. We also no longer do large group play. Unfortunately, large groups can overwhelm dogs easier, and we want everyone to be safe & have fun. We have a handful of regulars who have established friends. When introducing dogs, they are always attended, we take introductions slow, and start only introducing 2 dogs to each other. We prioritize their safety and so if we ever feel uncertain, we will just give them 1x1 play time with the staff. We absolutely do not push for group plays, as that's not our focus. Taking care of these babies and making sure they have some fun & feel loved while they're away from home is our #1 concern. If you do choose us, your first day of daycare (a "trial run") is free. This company was a God-send!…read more Over the holidays, I was in need of some one to watch my Lab mix doggie for 10 days. I absolutely did NOT want to put her in a kennel. I wanted to her to be in her own environment (I'm one of those people that view their dogs as part of the family and my husband and I like to refer to her as our "fur-baby", so yes, we are over protective dog-parents). All my friends who normally would have watched her- couldn't, due to the fact it was over Christmas and New Years- Panicking, I did a quick search on Yelp and found this place. I saw they have good reviews, so I emailed the owner, Meghan Gilliatt, and she emailed me back right away (um, amazing service!) She was able to answer all my questions and concerns. We set up a free consultation with the manager, Laurie. She came over to our house and right away we knew that the people who work here, love pets! Our dog immediately loved Laurie (after all dogs know right away if some one is a doggie-lover) We set up our doggies visits while we were away. While we were gone, the employees sent me text updates with pictures every day! They also fill out a daily visit "report card" so you know everything that went on for each visit. I loved that even though we were far away, our dog was happy in her own home and getting so much love! This is a fabulous company and they have so many options and services that really cater to your needs. I will be using them again! :D
