We're Marcus Reward members, and appreciate they still have discounts for Tuesday nights. You get free popcorn, and special deals on hot dogs, candy, combos, pizza, and beer! It's also nice you get 50% off for the Ultrascreen and Superscreen. The chairs recline back with plenty of space, legroom, and cushion to feel comfortable. The seats are "couple" setup, so they have a divider between them that can be easily lifted if you want to sit closer or further apart. It's a plus they offer digital tickets with Apple Wallet. Only caveat, if you book multiple tickets with one order, your whole party must be present. They can't scan on their own to get in. Friendly staff and the sound and lighting were great. I did notice when I tried to book online the seats behind us were all empty upon arrival, and unavailable for some reason to purchase online. We would've sat in the rows further from the ones we selected. Nevertheless, they ended up being good seats for being in row C-DreamLounger section. Overall, great experience! read more

I enjoyed going to Renaissance Cinema. I always see movies at this theater with my sisters who live nearby. The staff is always very friendly and professional. The ticket lady was really helpful when I needed to add points to my movie card. We stopped into the bar for a quick cocktail and the two bartenders were so welcoming. The concession girl was just as kind as the others. Great staff really makes a big difference. The lobby, bar, restrooms and theater are always clean. No sticky carpet or suspicious stains on the seats. We enjoy our movies on the recliner seats. Boy are they comfortable. I saw a lady with a blanket. I might try that next time. read more

The best theatre around! I gladly drive the distance to get here for the wonderful experience I have every time. There are many screens inside, so chances are you'll find the movie you're looking for here. Careful if you see a less popular movie, the rooms for those are smaller and you don't want to sit on the very back row where the AMAZING recliner seats don't recline all the the way (because of the wall). There is a bar inside, live music at night, "normal" food (pizza, pretzels, chicken tenders), theatre food, candy, etc. You can get your drinks from the bar to go and take them in the theatre. It's great! The staff here has always been very friendly and lay but not least, the bathrooms are always well kept. read more

They don't even bother with basic cleaning as evidenced by infestation of fruit flies from one end of the soda fountain counter to the other. Ab disgusting... So long gone are the days of popcorn and a movie. I was actually scared to go see a movie in a theater over the last few years especially being a dad and a little over protective. But wow what a difference a year makes. First there is not a bad spot to see the movie. Second the staff is ready, yes they are still teenagers but they are observant and paying attention. Went online to reserve seats for 11:10 show on Friday. Woke up very sick this morning (Thursday}. called to cancel for tomorrows show at 12:30, explaining that I was very sick. Was told that they could not cancel the credit card charge over the phone, that I needed to come in person (VERY SICK), which their website clearly asks to not come in is you are sick. first telephone number on their website was not updated with current number. Was told first that I could cancel the day of show in person if one hour before show, show at 11:10 stating they open at 11am. When I pointed out that that was only 10 minutes before show started, they then said it would be honored if it was within the hour. Just can't believe the run around. This is a very nice theater! All of the rooms / theaters have dreamlounger seats which is amazing and makes moving going a lot more comfortable. The Ultra Screen has heated dreamlounger seats which sounds amazing but I found that my lower back ended up getting too hot which became pretty uncomfortable. They have basically the same selection of snacks as other Marcus theaters do but they also have a variety of icecream at this one. The staff here have always been friendly each time I've been here and for being such a big theater, they do a pretty good job at keeping it fairly clean. read more

I use the Marcus App. I love it. The hubs and I typically like to attend the early Sunday morning movies- blockbusters especially and 3D if possible. Using the app as a Marcus reward member, I don't pay a service fee and I buy my tickets earlier in the week to ensure I get the seats I want. We rack up points quickly so I often have a free movie every three months. A few things I'd like to see improved: the theater has stopped having 3D early Sunday morning. Sometimes the snack bar isn't fully open when we get there- but it is VERY early. The recliners are comfortable, although the black recliners in 12 felt smaller recently? The snacks are okay- I'd love some healthier options. And - I would like for better times for the opera and Broadway options. I still haven't been able to attend one. And have some more indie/foreign films? Anyway, it's a great outing for us and we will definitely keep coming. read more

Marcus started assigned seating several years ago and it is terrible. I've lost track of the number of times I've walked to "my seat" only to find someone else sitting in it. Most times, someone was sitting in their seat and calling an usher took forever, we all missed part of the movie and had popcorn thrown at us, probably by the seat squatters. If you want to order a ticket ahead of time, they make you use fandango, which restricts where a single person is allowed to buy a ticket. Then you end up having to sit next to a guy who smells like an old bong and you can't move because you're in an assigned seat. Concessions at this location are always brutally slow, no matter how many people are behind the counter and how few are being waited on. This occurred yesterday 9/16/20 for the 5:15 PM showing of Writing On Bathroom Walls. I had one of the Worse movie experiences i have ever had at Marcus. It started when i walked in and informed them that my Marcus app did not work for buying tickets and buying food. The woman at the ticket counter and her manager tried for more then 15 minutes to help me and i told them at least 5 times to not worry about it because we wanted to see the trailers before the movie started. My friend told them at least 3 times and they continued. The Manager responded at least 3 times with "OK" and continued to try to help me. I told him to leave it alone and he didn't listen. I was then charged Full price for me and my senior friend. Again the woman and the manager had a difficult time changing price. When all was said and done i was charged military price and she was charged full price not senior price, i didn't want to wait another 15 minutes for the difficulty in refunding me the $3 difference so i went in to get snacks and food Both people working at the concessions seemed unprepared and not knowledgeable. I ordered a bacon chessburger and my friend ordered a chessburger. They did not know how to input a cheesburger and a bacon cheeseburger, it was a slow process. I also ordered a tub of popcorn because i buy the Marcus refillable tub. I was given the popcorn and a pager for when my food was ready. When i arrived in the movie theater the last trailer was playing. I waited about 45 minutes and then went out with my pager since it didn't go off and i was wondering what was taking so long. When i came out to get my food i found out that they had paged me 5 times. They asked me if i got a page and i told them No. They realized they gave me a dead pager and then gave me my food without a word being said. This was terrible experience from start to finish only good thing was that we both enjoyed the movie.... if i could give 0 stars i would this is not what i expect from a very empty movie theater, i think there were 6 people including us in the theater. I grew up in Racine and have seen 4 movie theaters close, 4 of them being Marcus cinemas. So, now they have this huge theater that is supposed to be for the entire Racine area and it seems like Racine would've been better off with keeping the smaller theaters. Yes, I did go here on the day after Christmas and it was crazy busy, but it shouldn't take almost 10 min to make my cousin a caramel latte. 1 star for the comfy chair and another for Diet Mt. Thank JJ Abrams for this review, Yelp reader, because honestly it was either spend my precious data writing this, or Google away the rest of the night asking the internet very important questions like (SPOILER ALERT!): Who are Rey's parents? Is Finn Lando's son? Where did Chewie go for that ombre? Ah, the power of the cinema! Few things can transport you to a galaxy far, far away for the afternoon so quickly. So why the a-ok rating you ask? Look, this is a really nice theater. They were showing a lot movies on several screens. For example, Star Wars was on a regular screen with stadium seating, the ultra plush lounge theater (I'm saying this incorrectly) and there were also 3d versions playing at certain times. The matinee for the regular show was $7.50. That's all fine and dandy, BUT: --why is food and drink so expensive? They have all kinds of interesting items here (alcohol, zaffiros pizza, stone creek coffee...more alcohol). But I got the pretty uninspired choice of soda and pretzel bites with cheese. It was $11.50 -- and the girl gave me the special because "its cheaper." On what planet? Clearly I don't go to a lot of movies but a fountain soda for over $5 seems crazy to me. --others have mentioned it, but the reserved seating is kinda nice but kinda meh. We painstakingly went online looking for the perfect seat and had to buy tickets all at once so we could sit together. And then when you get to your seat...you still feel like this isn't the seat I would have chose had I walked in and just chose a seat randomly. ("The map is not the territory "). I mean, otherwise it's clean and big, there's a $5 special Tuesdays, the seats were super comfy, and the movie (previews, anyhow), started EXACTLY on time. It's a-ok though. Marcus is the dominant cinema chain in the area, and after all these years, I still can't really figure out why. We showed up a bit before 9PM for a 9:15PM showing of Bolt 3D. Being a kids movie, I figured that the late showing wouldn't be too popular, and I was correct. There were about two dozen patrons waiting in the hall. We waited... and waited... 9:10... 9:15... it finally got to 9:18 and they let us in the theater. The commercials were over, the previews were already running. Now, I realize it's a huge commitment of staff to put somebody at the door to hand out the 3D glasses, but you would think that given that they're charging $2/pair on top of the already outrageous $10 adult ticket price, that they could maybe - just maybe - task somebody to stand there for the fifteen minutes prior to the show, so we wouldn't have to stand in a line and wonder what kind of idiots run the joint. It's typical Marcus. They've spent a lot of money on a flashy facility, which is then left to be run by a bunch of teenagers who don't give a damn, don't clean the restrooms, and when the show is done, come into the theater and stare at you while the credits are running so that you leave a little faster (after all, I'm sure they want to close up for the night and get out a little earlier). There are more professionally operated cinemas in the area. Sadly, none that I know of with 3D capabilities. read more

In Racine, this is where movies happen. So if it's movies you want, the choice is already made. They have the ultra screen with the dream loungers, which is dope, but all the other rooms are more than adequate. Concessions are the same as everywhere else, but here they have ice cream, too. The "death by chocolate" or "Choco-splosion" or whatever they call it is awesome!! They just opened a bar in the lobby. We didn't go in yet, cuz it was gettin late. Maybe next time. I toggled between 3 and 4 stars. I must admit, I was delighted to discover that they now have hot wings on the menu!!! Unfortunately, my 2nd visit of 2014 was on a night when I was way too full to squeeze any additional food into my body so the hot wings can't help the review. My 1st visit left me so annoyed that I didn't feel like eating. Imagine that!! My disappointment began with my first visit of 2014 and the reserved seating. I planned a big outing for the $5 Tuesday deal. Just like last year, we arrived to learn that our movie had sold out. If it happens again next year, I'm not going to believe the movies primarily starring African Americans are always coincidentally sold out and my review will include some statistics. Nevertheless, the first person who arrived attempted to buy us tickets for the next show and she called to ask where we wanted to sit. It was annoying! Not everyone was there yet. That meant cousin number one had to buy all of the tickets for the entire family and hope they all agreed to show up to the later time or just buy a few tickets and risk not sitting together. It was a frustrating and unnecessary obstacle in my opinion. Why reserved seating? On my second visit, my date picked our seats only to go in the theater and discover somebody else was already in them anyway! Four AND five! It should just be first come, first serve and that's it. I also got mad at the trickery surrounding the popcorn with the $5 Tuesday. It used to be free and everyone I went with thought it was still free. There was a long line of people discovering the new rules for that tiny bag of popcorn. You have to be a member, purchase the ticket with your member card, and you cannot get refills. Time for a new family tradition I say! Overall, my experience with this theater in 2014 was just okay. I don't like changes. I lied. I like that they serve hot wings! I just don't like the other changes. Maybe I'll have a 2015 update but maybe I won't. I do want to try the hot wings. read more

The theatre is great - the people that go and think the theatre is only theirs ruin it for others. We attended the Nov 29th 10:15am show of Frozen II - a large extended family sat near us and frankly ruined the show for us. Food being eaten at 10 am that was mostly left on the floor, especially by an adult man in the group. Family was in two rows - constant walking from one row to another in front of people. Young kids who had NO interest in watching the movie, but prancing around in their Elsa dress & wig - if kids are too young keep home and rent the movie for them when older!! We visited this place to see Justice League. It was great. The entry was seemless, no hassle. The atmosphere was jazzy, there was a live saxophonist playing music.
