Lastly..I ordered Pretzels and after 20 Minutes I went up to the front ticket area (Missing the movie) to say I never received them. They said they would resend the order and deliver it in 10 Minutes. 20 Minutes Later the guy showed up and said "WE" gave them the wrong Seat designation! (Mind you they took the information from the ticket) I just said whatever and tried to enjoy the movie that was constantly interupted! read more

Decided to beat the heat this Sunday afternoon and saw a movie at the Marcus Bistroplex at Southridge. Better signage at the entrance would help customer experience with ticketing and food ordering processes. Previously food was ordered at the bar but today we were redirected back to the ticketing counter to place our order. It was a small inconvenience. Had some issues getting our popcorn and water as the employee directed our food to go to an entirely different theater. On a positive note, we received large glasses of water which lasted through the movie. The overall theater was clean and tidy and what I would come to expect from a Marcus Theater. read more

We were excited to try this location as we had never been here before. However, with the lack of a customer-facing concession stand, we were really disappointed with the ordering process and delays. We were able to place our order on the app but after completing everything, it pushed our delivery time by 10 minutes. We would get our food just as the movie would've started. Fine, perfect. However, our food didn't show up on time. I had to go out to find an available employee (none were readily available) after our movie started to see what was going on. When they radioed the back, they relayed that they only had 1 runner, hence the delay. We ordered a large popcorn so I even offered to go to the kitchen area to pickup our order. We ended up getting our bucket of popcorn 30 minutes after we ordered. This is something that would take 2 minutes at any other theater. The popcorn was also cold and really oily. If this is what you're basing the whole experience on (dining in the theater), you probably want to have enough runners to make this concept work. Disappointed as this impacted our movie experience. Don't think we will come back to this location. read more

It's a nice little theater, but it's not the best, nor in the best shape. However, don't count it out if the bistroplex is your closest movie viewing location. The cons- Some of the seats are in fairly rough shape. The swing-out trays are fine for eating at, but the way the chairs are set back makes it awkward to try eating a sandwich. It's also, as I found out, really difficult to eat in the dark. The pros- I like the heated seats and ability to recline back. The trays are handy to set snacks on and there's a small gap between each pair of seats so no fighting over armrests. Food is brought to your seat if you like, and you can order through the app for more food or drink to be brought up if you feel the need during the show. Convenience is the selling point here. The theater itself was clean and well maintained. The restrooms were very clean, the bar area and tables were well organized and clean. The customers were not, however, as nearly everyone left their food and drink trash at their seats after the show ended. While I do prefer the Dream loungers at other theaters, I think I'd come back here. It's a different experience and I enjoyed the smaller theater size. It was cozy. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience was honestly ridiculous. I went to Bistroplex expecting a nice dinner-and-movie setup, ordered my food, and then... nothing. We sat there for two full hours with no updates, no food, no explanation. At that point, I had to go out of my way to track someone down just to ask what was going on. After checking in, I was told it was coming so we waited another 30 minutes. Still nothing. No one came to update us, no apology, nothing. I had to go back again, this time to actually complain, because at that point it felt like we were just completely forgotten. Finally, about 15 minutes after complaining, the food showed up. By then, the movie was basically over and the whole experience was ruined. Waiting that long for food in a place that's literally built around serving food during a movie is unacceptable. I get that places get busy, but this wasn't just a delay--this was a complete lack of communication and service. If you're going to charge premium prices for a dine-in theater experience, you need to actually deliver on it. read more

All of the food here is seriously overpriced and nasty. We ordered the pizza once and the crust was super thin like paper and it was hard like an overcooked piece of cracker and burnt. They also forgot to bring the ranch I ordered. When I asked the "server" about my ranch, he said he'd bring it. Never saw him again. Another time we went there, I got the nachos and cheese. The "tortilla" chips tasted so weird, very gritty and thin. The cheese tasted watered down. I ordered boneless wings and the wings were hot on the outside and cold on the inside. I don't expect a gourmet meal at a movie theatre but honestly, no one has basic standards for the food at this theatre. The person ordering the food for this specific Marcus theatre is definitely cutting costs and looking for a higher profit margin. read more

We come to this location often as it makes for a quick and fun little date night with our kids. I have to say, the theater and drinks are what you can expect price point wise. They're fair for the charge. We have never ran into any cleanliness or maintenance issues during our visits. This visit in particular, the staff was truly amazing. Everyone was more than kind and helpful and fun to talk to. There was an employee that had just recently started and he specifically stood out to us with how kind he was to our daughters (offering them Stitch posters!). I believe his name was Shane from a receipt we have. Always enjoy coming to this location for family movie days! read more

Remember the days when you had to sit in an uncomfortable, barely cushioned, completely upright chair to watch movies? Boy am I glad that those days are over. I am very happy that we got to watch the very long Wicked movie in the Super screen which has HEATED DreamLoungers. Amazing. It's also nice that you can order food and beverage in advance or online once you're seated and enjoying the previews. (Just make sure you know your seat number.) It's a pretty large selection of food, snacks, and candy too. I didn't feel like the prices were unfair either. They have an app too if you are someone who is going to be coming back frequently. I was worried about the servers popping in and out, but thankfully I did not find the deliveries to be too distracting. read more

I stoped at this theater that I have never been to before even though I have passed it 20 times and I even shop in the mall occasionally. This is one of those theaters with a kitchen and a bar so you can have food brought to your seat and I assume alcohol like the movie tavern. The place looks clean and like a newer theater. The bar is big and beautiful with flat screens and nice furniture with numerous taps. I really only will see a movie if it's on huge super screen which I don't mind paying extra for and this theater has a super screen. My theater was spacious with the dream loungers that recline with heat plus a swing table to eat your food on. People we're having food brought to them and eating in the dark which I don't get. One thing which I thought was cool was the self serve ice water station around the theater. Overall it's a nice theater and I would go back. read more

I like this place because they offer accommodations for the blind. They offer headphones that go over the ear so you can hear what's going on the narration in the movie. The waiters are really nice. You can served from your seat and the staff is very helpful. This is my choice When I want to go see a movie comfortable seats as well. read more

Marcus BistroPlex offers a whole different sort of movie viewing experience. It's not so much the fact that you can order dinner from your seat. After all, they're certainly not the only theater to offer such a service. For me, it's the entire streamlining of the process. You don't only have the option to order a meal and drinks directly from your seat, you also have option to order concessions from your seat. In fact, a huge difference I noticed is that I believe the only way you can get concessions (popcorn, candy, soda) is to order it from your seat in the theater. You simply walk in the theater, purchase your tickets at one of their automated kiosks (super easy) or with one of their cashiers and then make your way to your assigned theater. Once seated, a server will come to your seat and you can order as you like. We opted to forego a full meal and ordered popcorn and drinks. The popcorn is served in a bowl (instead of the usual paper product) and if you order a large, you're granted one free refill. You can get it buttered and salted (they bring you a shaker) just like any other movie theater. Beyond that, the theater I was in offered recliners (niiiice) and the trays for dining are comfortable (they swing, so you can have the table in front of you or swing it aside when you're done. All in all, it's comfortable and convenient. Get to it! read more

By far the worse Marcus theater I've been too. Three trips and three orders of food to our seats. At least one item over 20 minutes late. Had to go get the food and each time told it just got done. One trip a slice of pizza was missing. Last trip they put something heavy on the pizza so all the cheese was on the cardboard. If Marcus theaters management are definitely not paying attention to this theater. Outside of the food. Seats are very worn and not very clean. You can check it out for yourself but.... I have been here a few times now and I have to say that they have gotten much better at this concept since they opened. When they first opened this place was a train wreck but the past few times the service has gotten much better. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices are quite high for the food but theaters have been doing that for years now. You will spend 2 to 3 times more on the food than on the movie. Keep in mind the movie will not start till a half hour after the posted show time. So if you are an arrive early person lime me, you will be way early. read more

Service starts 30 min before the movie time until about 30 min after the movie start time. This means you don't really see the previews, but it's not the end of the world. Food is meh- but what can you expect from a movie theater? Maybe I'm ordering the wrong things and $13 salads aren't for movie watchers? Service is prompt though! I have been to this theater on several occasions and really like it. I love that there are no concession stands but instead we order and are served in our seats. Who doesn't love to sit back and have someone bring you food and snacks directly to you so you don't have to get up at all?! That is so great! There is a full menu, which is awesome! Typically, I have always gotten popcorn or candy of some sort but not here. They offer burgers and even pasta! It's fabulous. You can still get your typical movie theater snacks, including popcorn, but there are many more options. The seats are cozy recliners with mini tables to hold your food and there is plenty of space between seats. You will never have to worry about someone sitting in front of you who is too tall. Being on the shorter side, that is a common issue for me so I'm super excited about the arrangement of seating. The only downfall is they no longer serve after approximately 30 min after the movie starts, so orders are taken prior to the movie and they try to deliver your food before the movie begins. We were told that if we would like to order more snacks or get refills that we need to go to the bar. I do not recall being told this previously so I assume this is new. That was disappointing to hear because I really liked being served and not having to go to the concession stand during the movie. That was a cool perk that set this theater aside from other theaters. Watching a movie at the Marcus BistroPlex sort of feels like watching a movie on an airplane, just with a lot more leg room and better food. You've got your comfy dream recliner seats, a steward/stewardess/server, and the trays that slide out in front of you. I'm not sure if it's more like sitting in a plane or an adult highchair. Anyway, our food was quite good. I had an Asian-style, pork sandwich with fries, and a glass of wine. My son had pizza and lemonade. It was kind of fun and silly to see candy carried into the theater on serving trays. I thought the servers would be distracting during the movie but, for the most part, they were pretty low profile. I saw another review that recommended paying during the movie, and I agree. There are nifty little lights inside the receipt/credit card folder, which is convenient. This is definitely not a cheap movie experience so if you're looking for inexpensive or if you are taking a lot of kids, perhaps think twice. We paid close to $60 for two meals with drinks and candy - that did not include the tickets. I'd say this is a fun thing to splurge on, but not necessarily an every day, or even a once a week, kind of place. read more

I've been here twice now on separate occasion. The first time I went with my girlfriend and we had some drinks and appetizers, the second time I went with my husband and we had dinner. Each time I sat in a different theater and the one I recently sat in was a d-lux theater that had heated seats! The bad: I tried calling about 59 Times one week because the movie schedule for Saturday wasn't up on Thursday. Not on Fandango, or their website. When I finally got thru the woman said they were a small theater and their schedule hadn't been set yet. I thought it was bizarre, but what do I know about movies theater operations? The next day I actually went a message on FB to Marcus and they told me there was an error on the website and it would be cleared up soon. Sure enough, within a couple of hours it was fixed. The seats are small. They're very narrow and a larger than average person would be uncomfortable. Think economy airplane seat. The good: The concept is, eat and watch movies, uninterrupted. You get menus on your way in and once you get seated, a server comes to take your drink order and brings you drinks. After that, you can order off their menu of appetizers, sandwiches, entrees, etc. As for food, I've only ever had the truffle fries and chips with salsa and guacamole. The salsa is mild and the guacamole is a decent size. The first time I went my chip plate had movie theater nacho cheese, but the second time it didn't. The truffle fries were good both times and the serving size is decent. My friend ordered the pizza the first time and it was pretty much pizza. It was good, but not great. My husband ordered the pork bahn mi, and that was decent too, but it came with a really big bun. I HIGHLY recommend the watermelon margaritas - You'll thank me later. Keep in mind there is no regular concession stand, but you can order "standard" theater concessions in the theater. If you get cold in theaters, which I frequently do, I recommend one of the theaters with heated seats, just be aware the heat turn off after about 15 minutes. I figured this out when I started shivering about 30m into the movie. All in all, I enjoy going here because it's comfortable and I like the concept. The service has always been great and while the food isn't fabulous, it's definitely OK. If you have your expectations set accordingly then you'll be fine. Came to the BistroPlex on opening weekend and we had a great time. Its a Marcus theater located in the parking lot of southridge mall, over by the old Sears. Everyone was extremely friendly and had a smile on their face! We say Despicable M3 at 4:20pm. Tickets were around $11 each for a matinee. We had already eaten lunch before we got there so we did not order meals. We had 3 sodas, 1 cocktail, and 2 desserts for a total of $42. With a 20%+ to reward their hard work on opening weekend we were close to $95 for the four of us for a lunch showing with no meals. The prices for meals on the menu were not too expensive. $8 for a personal size pizza. Like $9 for chicken tenders. Appetizers seem to the trap at $9 each. In line with prices at higher end restaurants. I think the best option, as always, would be to take advantage of $5 Tuesdays if going with a family. For a date night of 2 people, the price would be a little more acceptable. The reason I took a star away was that our cocktail took over 30 minutes. I know this because we ordered our cocktail and desserts at the same time and we asked if the desserts could come out later. Our waiter said "I will set them to come out in 30 minutes if you'd like" to which we replied perfect. Those 2 desserts came out before the cocktail, hence a 30+ minute wait for a drink at 4:30pm. TIP: This place has no box office, just kiosks as they are trying to get everyone to order online, so save yourself some time and order your tickets online. Then go to a kiosk and scan your QR code and print out your tickets. EXTRA INFO: The handicap stalls are in a terrible spot. I assume they will be changing this very fast, but if they have not, prepare to drop off those who need extra time at the front door. I say these because the handicap spots are around the side of the building with no special door. AND to make it WORSE, the exit over by the handicap spots is STAIRS! Looks like a little design fail, but I am confident Marcus will get this corrected very fast. read more

Today was our second attempt at trying the BistroPlex after a fairly disastrous maiden voyage back in June. Things have improved slightly, though there is still work to be done. Pros: Food continues to be decent. Our Create Your Own Burger and Turkey Bacon Wrap were very good; and the fries were seasoned well and crispy. Employees are friendly. Assigned seating and DreamLoungers are nice touches. Cons: The usher was also our waitress and we had a fairly significant wait for her to come take our order. The fries had obviously been sitting for a while before coming out to us. Towards the end of the film, the waitress came to see if we needed anything else and when we said no, brought the check, but no less than three times she declined to take away our dirty dishes. Overview - Fun, creative way to enjoy movie and food! Food - 4/5 Customer Service 5/5 Experience 4/5 I was able to get a sneak peek into the Bistro Plex a couple of days before it opened. It's wonderful! The way it works is you have a rotating tray that comfortably floats in front of your reclinable leather seat. You order food like at any restaurant (at any point before/during the film) and it's brought out to you. You are brought the bill towards the end of the film. There is a button to call for the server next to every seat that summons the server at your beck and call. The food is delicious. I had the Asian BBQ Spring Rolls (5/5), Mac Daddy Burger (3.5/5), and Brownie Twinkie (2.5/5). Fries with the Burger was decent but nothing special. The screen in our theatre was very big and sound quality was terrific - so good it was hard to hear the server sometimes! DreamLounger seats are extremely comfortable. Even tho it was a training event, the overall experience was very close to what it'd actually be like once it opens. I recommend this theater for a different experience! It was fun! read more

Is there anyone in the USA and Canada who isn't aware of the social significance of "Black Panther" for African-Americans and immigrant Americans from the Post-Colonial Third World? Well, yes, and they work at the Marcus BistroPlex. Now I'm no expert on training movie theater ushers but I would guess that a good proactive strategy would be to keep an eye out for larger groups of tweens unsupervised by adults going into PG-13 movies. If I were in charge of a movie theater and a special movie like "Black Panther" was making headline news for all sorts of good reasons, I would be especially wary of a group of 5 or 6 White suburban 12 year olds without adults in said movie, nothing more than just checking in on them a couple of times to make sure they were behaving themselves. Well not so here, and as one might easily predict, this giggle of White girls were bored out of their blonde minds and talked the whole movie using their large bright smart phones and tablets with absolutely no respect for the rest of the audience. Worse yet, the children with parents were inspired to misbehave causing louder and louder chastising from the parents responsible enough to accompany their children to this PG-13 movie. So after the movie, after the credits of course since this is a Marvel movie, I asked to see a manager. After what I thought was an impolitely long wait, the manager only half listened to my complaint, and in the middle of my suggestion that groups of 12 year olds unaccompanied by adults should be checked up on periodically, IN THE MIDDLE OF MY SUGGESTION, he interrupted to offer me free tickets. What an assumption, that I was just looking for free tickets. I was so insulted. I had to raise my voice and get curmudgeon with him. I finished my suggestion that he tell his ushers and servers to check up on unsupervised children and his initial response was to explain that they get "pulled out after 30 minutes to go to other theaters." So it's just routine at this theater, they let children talk and flash bright lights through movies and if someone complains, the solution isn't prevention, it's to give out free tickets instead. If I had a lot of free time, maybe I do look like I'm old enough to be retired, okay, that's an adequate solution. But I don't have that much time and going to the movies is somewhat of a special occasion to me, and "Black Panther" meant something a little more than just a diversion for a night, so I don't think I'm being unreasonable that a movie theater hires and trains ushers to check in on theaters once in a while and keep an eye and ear out for distracting inconsiderate patrons ESPECIALLY ENTITLED SUBURBAN 12 YEAR OLDS WITH NO MANNERS UNLEASHED UPON THE WORLD BY SELF CENTERED SELF INVOLVED OVERLY INDULGENT IRRESPONSIBLE PARENTS. Now there was a certain symbolic irony in these privileged little snots being so disrespectful in this particular movie that was not entirely lost on me, so at least I did get another example I can use in class. read more

Very disappointed with this movie theater. The employees do not look like they want to be there. Employee moral looks very negative to the customer. One of the super screens has a slit cut in the middle of the screen. Which gets annoying to look at. The light next to my chair was broken and the heater of the seat did not work. The food smells great but very expensive. During the movie, I could hear the waiters in the back server alley area talking which was distracting. I also did not like the free standing sign in the middle of the lounge area saying to tip your waiter. It is set up in a way to where you have no choice to run into the sign. for a luxury kind of theater and dinning experience this theater falls short of it. I would almost go as far to say the inmates are running the facility and the managers are no where to be found. Poor management. The Brookfield majestic theater is ran ten times better. read more
