Of all the Marcus Theaters nearby, this is my favorite. From the ticket takers to concessions, everyone is friendly and efficient. While I haven't dined in at the our onsite zaffiros, I have ordered their honey mustard chicken wrap a couple times and it is delicious. Highly recommend buying your ticket online ahead of time to guarantee you get the seat you want. Taking one star off because I don't think half the parking lot needs to be dedicated to dine in zaffiros customers. read more

Super easy movie going experience when you spend your dollars with Marcus. Even on a Saturday afternoon, we quickly showed the attendant our tickets, got popcorn and found our seats. This is our go-to Cinema. The seats are reclining leather and spread out so you have plenty of wiggle room. I came here for a special showing of the original and classic movie Halloween. It was a cold and blustery Halloween night 2024 and perfect for watching this classic movie. The Tuesday special for Marcus rewards members gets you reduced ticket pricing including Screen X a free individual size popcorn, $2 hotdogs and special prices on many of the concession drinks and treats. There are special senior ticket prices every day of the week and other weekly specials as well. There's a Zaffiro's pizza parlor attached to the cinema, and you can dine there and or get their food to enjoy at your seat for the movie. read more

This is the first cinema I have been to since 2019.... Do not try to come to this cinema during rush hour unless you leave at minimum 1 hour prior to your movie time. Traffic is stupid insane. It was relatively easy to get to theater from the freeway, and there was ample parking. My husband purchased 2 ticket through Fandango, they did not work upon arrival. (I told him if he was purchasing tix online to use the official Marcus website, so this is a non-issue.) The staff member at the ticket booth was *SO* accommodating and nice - he was a 5 star employee! He understood our struggles with purchasing through another ticket vendor... Zaffiro's was notably (and I was told) understaffed. I wasn't surprised. They did get a drink order in right away, food took a bit longer. It's my fault that I didn't check the order after pickup and in the restaurant - but we received the completely wrong order. I was not about to complain because I was *starving* and the order they gave us was totally fine - it just wasn't what we ordered. I know they would have tossed the food anyway after we touched it, so we just ate it. I did inform them that we received the wrong order, and we were okay with it - I didn't ask for a refund for the difference or anything. They were so nice and working their booty off! Zaffiro's staff is 5 stars!! The theater itself could use some updating, hence the 4 stars. However the employees I had experiences with were amazing - I hope they get the recognition they deserve!! Going to a movie is very stressful for me, but I would come back to this theater based upon my experience with several staff members. :) read more

As a loyal customer of the bigger chains (AMC, Regal) out there, I was nervous to try this theater, but it was the closest to our hotel. I'm glad we tried it because the crew was nice and the theater was clean and unique. I love that it is family-owned, and the layout was a nice change of pace. The theater had reclining seats and plenty of walking room if you were in the middle of the aisle and needed to get out. I didn't get a chance to use the concessions this time, but based on the rest of the experience, I think I'll be back (when I'm around these parts). read more

We went to see the new Ghostbusters movie at Marcus. It has been a while since we last went out to see a movie, so we decided to treat ourselves. With our senior discount, the tickets came to $24.78. That seemed reasonable. Renting a new movie via streaming can cost that much too. What shocked me was the cost of the popcorn and 2 "small" sodas. A bucket of popcorn and those 2 "small" sodas came to a whopping $25.04!!!!! That was more than the cost of the movie tickets. How on God's green Earth can they justify stealing $25 from me for about 50 cents worth of popcorn and maybe 75 cents worth of soda???? The night's bill was just over $50. We could have had a steak dinner at Texas Roadhouse for the same amount. Next time I think that is what we will do. When popcorn costs the same as a steak, there is some serious greed going on. read more

We tried the movies for the first time in a year and it was a pleasant experience. We got a pizza and chicken tenders. The staff delivered it to us with plenty of napkins, plates and condiments. If you refill your bucket of popcorn, they'll actually give you a bag to put in your bucket yourself. They really paid attention to details. They clearly spaced out seats to help with social distancing. Only downside to our experience is that a group of 5 just sat wherever they wanted (we checked out the outside board and that's not an area where seats were purchased). They were still a sofa seat away but it would have been nice if they adhered to the guidelines so it could be safer. read more

Marcus Ridge Cinemas is a clean theater with large movie screens and (the piece des resistance) dream loungers (aka recliners, yo). Most of the Marcus cinemas have the dream loungers and that is a huge thing for me. My husband has a back issue that makes most typical movie theater seating pretty miserable for him. But, not so with the dream loungers! They've been a total game changer for us. So, that fact alone, makes me a fan. Beyond that, it's a typical movie theater with concessions, an in house restaurant, and bar. It's always been clean when we've been there and they have plenty of showtimes (they start movies as early as the 8am hour! A-mazing!). Get to it! read more

I have an AMC Theater 5 minutes down the road but choose to drive the 20 minutes it takes to get to Marcus Ridge instead because the staff are so friendly and the auditoriums are usually much cleaner. It wasn't long ago this location upgraded to the Dream Lounger recliners and it was the best decision they could have ever made! Sitting through a 2 hour movie can be physically challenging, but these seats take a lot of pressure off your back and create a more intimate experience. Also, there's so much distance between seats that you won't have kids kicking your seat the whole movie! If you haven't already, I encourage checking out the yearly popcorn bucket as well. It was $25 up front, but refills are only $4 each visit. As a regular moviegoer, that can add up fast, so I did the math and I literally save over $200 each year on concessions with this. There is a restaurant connected to the theater, but I've reviewed that separately and would encourage grabbing a bite to eat elsewhere as I've never had a positive experience there. On a closing note, I caught the manager to ask him if they could hold a movie poster for me once they stopped showing the flick. I didn't even realize he had a cash drawer in hand until I stopped him, but even though he was busy he stopped to help me out! When I talk about superior customer service, it's the little things like that I'm talking about! There is also a girl at the concessions (Layla) who now remembers us by name and welcomes us back every time! She even prepares my scoop of salt before I ask for it because she knows the drill! The Ridge is a good place to see a movie - it's not super high tech like IPic or cozy like the Rosebud, but it gets the job done. The Mister wanted to see the Hobbit and I begrudgingly agreed to go - when we arrived, there were really long lines for tickets. Pro tip - there are some ticket vending machines in the lobby. Use them - they're fast and allow you to skip the line. SCIENCE, bitches! Like all movie places, the concessions are unhealthy and horrifically overpriced, but what can you do? I do appreciate that they now have self-serve soda, meaning you'll have plenty of refreshment when you have to sit through three excruciating hours. (and excuses to get up and pee a few times too) The actual theater was pretty clean - no sticky floors. Seats are stadium style and comfortable, with a little flex in them. That helps keep your legs from falling asleep during super-long, super-boring movies, for example. I'm guessing that if the movie we were seeing hadn't been so loud, I could very easily have fallen asleep in those seats (for many reasons). Overall, it's a good enough movie theater. Not one worth venturing out of your way for, but not one worth avoiding. SPOLIER ALERT: if you want to save 3 hours and 12 bucks, here's how the Hobbit goes down: Orcs are bad. Lots of spinning CGI type fighting. There's a quest, but nothing really actually happens or gets resolved. Elves for some reason. Huge budget for makeup and fake facial hair. Dragon, magic stone, something, something. That's pretty much it. read more

Marcus definitely has the Milwaukee cinema market cornered. Although relatively conveniently located, now with a roundabout in front for even more traffic nightmares, I have a hard time recommending Ridge. It's a large facility with a lot of screens, which potentially means a lot of variety. Unfortunately, it is often set up so that the same movie is playing on multiple screens, which substantially reduces the movie selection (20 screens, I believe). The parking lot is sufficiently large, unlike some locations, and there is sufficient room that they can handle even large events. The downsides really start with the cost. It's an expensive theater. The ticket prices have been climbing slowly but consistently, and so have the concession prices. The pretentious upscale stylings of Marcus are something that I'd prefer not to pay for, although thankfully they haven't got one of their player pianos sitting in the lobby. What they do have is the chain's funniest ticket ripper, a guy who's been there for as long as I can remember, and whose nametag simply reads "Spider". He's full of comments and advice about your movie, and this is one of the things that really saves Ridge and makes it more entertaining and friendly. What's amazing is that he can perform his little act all night, giving each patron a little personal attention and a welcome feeling. It really sets Ridge out above and beyond the typical Marcus location (which I am not at all impressed with). Marcus used to start their ads at the listed start time of the movie, which meant that you could reliably show up about ten minutes late if you wanted to skip ads and some unknown percentage of the previews. Thankfully, they've stopped that practice, and the previews are now timed to start at the listed movie start time. I generally don't mind previews, but I despise paying to see a performance and being subjected to ads. The current situation is at least tolerable. There is a tendency to employ kids, though this seems to work out somewhat better here than at other theaters. If you have a question or problem, though, it is still best to target one of the older employees. The overall experience here isn't that bad, but all things considered, Showtime is only a short drive away. A definite plus for Spider and the easy convenience to the freeway. Everything else, ehhh, it's Marcus. read more

I never came to this Marcus theatre before (I usually go to a different Marcus location). I came to this one because it is the only theater close to me still playing the movie I wanted to see. As soon as you walk in, you do not get the Marcus Theater feel that you get going to any of their other theaters. This theater felt very cramped and very dull and outdated when you first walk in. Yes they have the dream lounger seating but that is really the only current or new update that they've done - everything else seems like it's still stuck in the past in terms of the vibe or the feel that you get. The employees both at the ticket stand and at the snack counter seemed as if they did not want to be there. They all seemed very disinterested and like they couldn't care less if I was there or not. I was not acknowledged when I walked in even though two or three employees were looking right at me. I went to the snack counter to order my food for the movie and it seemed as if I was bothering the employee who ended up taking my order. I ordered my snack which consisted of the drink and pretzel bite combo. As I was walking to fill my drink, the nacho cheese sauce for the pretzel bites ended up spilling a little bit onto the floor. I asked one of the guys working behind the snack counter for some paper towels so I could clean up the cheese. He gave me a roll of paper towels and then very rudely said "don't expect me to clean up your mess and make sure to give them back to me when you're done". Really? I asked you for the paper towels which means I'm going to clean up the mess myself and why would I have any reason to to want to steal or try and steal a roll of cheap paper towels? This was the first time I've been to this Marcus location and I'm willing to bet this will probably be the last time as well. read more

I like this theater a lot. For an evening movie it beats out a lot of other places that get too busy (AMC at Mayfair comes to mind). Pretty much the best thing, though is Spider. He's been there as long as I can remember and even longer, according to my husband, who has been coming there since he was in high school. Spider loves movies and you can tell with each spoiler-free comment or tip he gives each customer as he rips their ticket. He'll tell you if people have been loving the movie you're seeing, or suggest you stay until the end of the credits to get an extra scene. Last I heard, he's moving up to the Northshore theater so I hope to catch him there sometimes. I've also heard tell that he's moving to California...If that is the case he'll be greatly missed. I went to the ridge to watch a movie and was extremely disappointed to see that the concession stands and restaurant was closed by 8:30 pm. The movie I saw was still going on and I couldn't even get water if I wanted to. I have gone to other theaters and never had this issue. There was no workers in sight. There was no sign and no one said anything about the early closing to warn me or I would have gotten popcorn and beverages in advance. Furthermore, I was appalled that the theater person (the only one working apparently) that came to yell at these poor ladies in a threatening tone. I will not be returning to this theater ever again and will be sure to mention it to friends and family. read more

We live almost right in the middle of the Ridge Cinemas and South Shore Cinema in Oak Creek.... and often decide on which theater we're attending based on show times for the given movie. As an educator, I really respect the fact that they offer teacher discounts on Thursdays. The $5 Tuesday also can't be beaten. As you attend the cinema, you must know that you're in it, at this day in age, for a bit of a price gouge on the food. Their profit margins are clearly marked up. Either be prepared, or eat ahead of time. I am very thankful they allow you to bring in things other than just their popcorn and traditional snacks. The last time we attended we each got a beer, and they are very polite in ensuring that you're taking it into the theater so they can give you a plastic cup. The theaters are kept clean, the sound blows you away, and the seats are extremely comfortable. read more

Audio and visual quality are great, and with no discernible sound bleed-through from other theaters. The food's not so great. Great spacing and precautions for COVID-19. Nobody around you, just the way I like it. Great selection of movies to see for only $5. We even did a double feature, and the manager was cool and let us keep our concessions with our refills for the 2nd movie. I enjoyed every minute of this experience, especially during this not-so-great time that we're living in. This was the most cramped, uncomfortable theater I've ever been in. I'm only 5'7" and I had to basically sit up perfectly straight to fit in the seats. Anytime someone adjusted themselves your seat would be bumped and you could feel it several seats away! Just trying to cramp more seats in for more money. Speaking of money...since when does a matinee showing costs $8.50?! And $15.75 for a small soda and nachos? No. Good thing I brought in a bottle of water and some Mike & Ike's, because that's absurd and I feel no guilt about it. Finally, the movie was just too loud! We were watching Beauty and the Beast and the song numbers and exciting moments were so loud you could feel it in the floor. I had to leave to take some Advil. I've been to a lot of Marcus cinema's, but this one is the most organized, spacious, and most luxurious I've seen. I like the way that they have the concession stand set up. The lines are in the round, and they seem to move much faster and efficient. I like the way the seating is handled. You can either wait to talk to a staff member, or self-service ticket kiosks are on either side. The bathrooms are well-maintained and extremely clean. I've noticed the staff is polite, knowledgeable and attentive. I would highly recommend seeing a movie at this Marcus location. Five dollar Tuesdays is a real money saver. I don't normally review chains, much less movie theaters, but today I had to see "Fast Food Nation" for the little movie reviews I do for MKE magazine, and Ridge was one of the only places it was playing in the city. I arrived fully 15 minutes late and was surprised to walk into the theater and see the annoying pre-movie trivia still running. I overheard one of the people re-entering the theater say they had gone to ask why the movie hadn't started yet. The commercials, sneak previews and plug for popcorn, soda and cell-phone silencing commenced a few minutes later. After the film, an attendant was waiting outside with free movie vouchers for everyone in the theater. I had not been personally inconvenienced and didn't really think much of the 20-minute late start, but I thought it was a very nice gesture of them to give out passes anyway. read more

I love the dream lounge seats, but they can be dangerous as they are so confortable. You could end up paying $12 admission for a great nap. Pricing at the snack counter are high, but no different than any other theater. $20 for 2 small sodas and a large popcorn. My advice is being in your own snacks or eat before you go if your looking to go out on a budget. read more

When the hubby and I want to go out to see a movie, this is the theater that we always go to. This is a very spacious theater, featuring 19 screens. The staff is very nice, and the theater is clean and well maintained. They feature stadium seating, which is super comfortable. If you want to avoid the ticket lines, I highly recommend using the kiosks at the main entrance. It will save you time, trust me. Be sure to check out their website for special attractions. Currently, they are featuring a Retro Series of movies two days a week. We were most recently here on 10/21 for a screening of "Back To The Future 2", and it was a lot of fun! If you're looking for food and drinks other than the standard (pricey) concession stand fare, be sure to check out Zaffiro's Pizzeria and Zaffiro's Express. They are famous for their thin crust pizza, but also serve things such as sandwiches and wraps, soup, salad, entrees, and desert. read more

As I mentioned in my review for the nearby Texas Roadhouse, there aren't too many area movie theaters with nearby dining options, so we'll sometimes end up in New Berlin for dinner in a movie. The Ridge has managed to avoid the teenage frenzy that sometimes takes over at North Shore or Mayfair. It never feels too crowded, the folks aren't talking or ripping into noisy packages during the movie and I've yet to see sell outs (something that's pretty standard on a Friday or Saturday night at North Shore, it seems). What else can I want out of a cookie-cutter theater? We go out to dinner before, so I never eat concessions here. I get to watch my movie and not be annoyed, which is pretty much the only standard I need, you know? read more
