This year, it was the same day as Harleyfest, the air show, and German fest so parking was INSANE. I was actually grateful for the air show as it added extra entertainment to an otherwise lackluster showing for Brewfest. It felt like there were way too many non-beer options (ciders, seltzers, wine, CBD, kombuchas, n/a, etc) when we paid good money to sample, you guessed it...BEER. A lot of the beers we did sample were pretty common ones you see in the grocery store or straight dumps because they were nothing special. For $75 per person, I do not think we got our money's worth.

Personal highlights include Next Door Brewing Co's Livacious saison, Steel Head Aleworks' amber ale, Mershon's artisan cider (apples & honey), and Blake's Hard Cider (El Chavo with habanero and mango; Wake Fire with Michigan cherries and orange peel)! The line to get into the festival for ticket holders/advance purchases was kind of ridic but once we made of inside, the vibes were pretty chill. Some breweries ran out of brew before we had a chance to sample (it happens) while others had really long lines (also happens). When we encountered either of these scenarios, we simply pivoted in a diff direction and kept the cups full. Good food vendors! Had a blast! Pro tip--BYO pretzel necklace and up the game by adding things like beef jerky, cheese sticks, fruit snacks, etc. - leveling up goals for next year.

However the price was pretty high given the amount of popcorn that you get and the location isn't nearly as convenient for me as Goody Gourmet, which tends to have better prices as well. Service was pleasant if a bit slow. There wasn't anyone in there and I knew what I wanted right away but it took a good 15 minutes to fulfill my order due to a "labeling issue in the back." I liked the look of the place, from the art to the games on the tables and it would be a fun place to hang out for a bit though the food menu outside of the popcorn and spring rolls is a bit limiting for me, making it a bit unlikely for me to come and stay for a while.

Plenty of volunteers were stationed throughout to help direct people to their seats. Beverages and snacks were available in the atrium. For bathrooms, I would recommend heading down to the atrium level rather than staying on the upper floor. The upper floor restroom is smaller, and the line was quite long. Sound and view from our seats were both good. The 2026/2027 season is posted now, and there are several shows on it I'd like to see. Being able to catch these here without having to travel to Chicago is a nice perk.

It's such a large theater, but it…read morecan get pretty uncomfortable in the back, with views very obscured by taller gents seating in front of you. Obviously orchestra seats are the best. As are the front loge seats. But unlike, say the Fiserv where you get a good view from any seat, further back seats here can get pretty uncomfortable. One little bit of luck I had seating on row W was that this was the second to the last row on orchestra floor, but the last row was set up with sound tables and no one was seating there during my show. And because I had a really tall guy seating in front of me, I couldn't see anything, but I could actually flop up the fold down chair and sit up high without obscuring anyone behind me and get an unobscured view myself. So if I want cheap tickets in the back, get the very back row and sit up like that to get a better view lol. It's not comfortable though.

I'm pretty disgusted that this year they won't fill the beers to the top because apparently some lower line is "12 oz". I am still paying the price of a 6-pack for one beer, do we really need to get that technical??? While the new BMO stage is very nice, I don't understand the complications and severe lack of communication on how to get "tickets" at a FREE stage! The best job at summerfest, and a great spot to stop for awhile, is at the mechanic bull. Who wouldn't love to throw dumb kids and over-sized wanna be cowboys off of a fake bull all day?! Don't know what happened early in the fest, but that thing was tore up and missing its horns, lol. I Iove summerfest buy don't agree with some of the changes they are making. We spend an obscene amount of money and deal with a lot of crap from other fest-goers, why intensify it for us? Ever heard of "Customers First" summerfest slumlords? Okay, maybe that was too much. I'm just really pissed about the extra ounce or two of beer and serving me unfilled cups. If that ain't a reason to sneak in booze.... Parents! Take yo kids home after dark when all the drunkies surface!!! Fav food: Venice Club eggplant strips! Ask for lemon and an extra cup of marinara if you're "saucy" like me ;) Personally, I can only handle the crowd and drunks by doing as the Romans do.
