Decided to beat the heat this Sunday afternoon and saw a movie at the Marcus Bistroplex at Southridge. Better signage at the entrance would help customer experience with ticketing and food ordering processes. Previously food was ordered at the bar but today we were redirected back to the ticketing counter to place our order. It was a small inconvenience. Had some issues getting our popcorn and water as the employee directed our food to go to an entirely different theater. On a positive note, we received large glasses of water which lasted through the movie. The overall theater was clean and tidy and what I would come to expect from a Marcus Theater.

We were excited to try this location as we had never been here before. However, with the lack of a customer-facing concession stand, we were really disappointed with the ordering process and delays. We were able to place our order on the app but after completing everything, it pushed our delivery time by 10 minutes. We would get our food just as the movie would've started. Fine, perfect. However, our food didn't show up on time. I had to go out to find an available employee (none were readily available) after our movie started to see what was going on. When they radioed the back, they relayed that they only had 1 runner, hence the delay. We ordered a large popcorn so I even offered to go to the kitchen area to pickup our order. We ended up getting our bucket of popcorn 30 minutes after we ordered. This is something that would take 2 minutes at any other theater. The popcorn was also cold and really oily. If this is what you're basing the whole experience on (dining in the theater), you probably want to have enough runners to make this concept work. Disappointed as this impacted our movie experience. Don't think we will come back to this location.

This is a Marcus theater? I couldn't tell where I was and couldn't even find concessions for popcorn! Saw a line at the bar. Was told you need your seat number (why?) they no longer offer Bistro dining! So I didn't get Popcorn because I didn't want to miss the beginning of the movie. Wouldn't return

Pretty good experience! Now, you have to order your food/drinks online or stand in line yourself, which was fine with us! Popcorn and pretzel bites were tasty. Food was delivered to our seats on time. Our seats were a little worn, and the movie itself glitched a few times so I'm removing a star. Theater was clean, prices were right, and I like the atmosphere.

I stoped at this theater that I have never been to before even though I have passed it 20 times and I even shop in the mall occasionally. This is one of those theaters with a kitchen and a bar so you can have food brought to your seat and I assume alcohol like the movie tavern. The place looks clean and like a newer theater. The bar is big and beautiful with flat screens and nice furniture with numerous taps. I really only will see a movie if it's on huge super screen which I don't mind paying extra for and this theater has a super screen. My theater was spacious with the dream loungers that recline with heat plus a swing table to eat your food on. People we're having food brought to them and eating in the dark which I don't get. One thing which I thought was cool was the self serve ice water station around the theater. Overall it's a nice theater and I would go back.

Ask the Community - Marcus BistroPlex Southridge

Is it completely dark in the theater like most theaters during a film or do they unfortunately leave some lights on during a movie since its a Bistroplex?

Low lights stay on during service, which ends 30 minutes after the scheduled show time. Typically, the feature film doesn't start until then. (Decided by the studios, not the theater).… Read more

Do some of the theater lights stay on during the movie?

Hi . My recent visits I noticed the lights stay on through the previews. This theater offers waiter service to your seats. They finish the service 30 minutes into the movie. I do know that there are special showings geared toward children on the… Read more

He purchased tickets well in advance. Staff was pleasant as they checked our tickets and took our concession order. Popcorn was yummy and who doesn't like a Coke Freestyle Machine? Our movie played in the "IMAX" which I think is just the largest screen available at the theater, it's definitely not an IMAX. I thought the picture was great, my husband felt it was a tad blurry. Sound was loud and enjoyable compared to home viewing. My rating falls due to the outdatedness of the theater itself. In the bathroom there were sinks and papertowel/soap dispensers not operational. The seats are "old school" as my husband put it... Plan to be sitting upright for however long your movie plus the pre movie ads/trailers go on. I guess I'm privileged in that I am now use to "dream lounger" seats and ample walkway space in each aisle. We sat in the middle section of the row, and lets just say if you have to get up to pee, every person will need to get up to accommodate. The floor was sticky. My husbands seat cushion was "broken" so he was particularly uncomfortable. Overall, AMC, please update this theater! It could use some TLC and I think with that, the location would have a resurgence of popularity as it is the only AMC in the area.

The coolest part was how they would also bring the food directly to your seat even when the movie was playing. It just adds a nice little touch to the experience. The chairs are spacious and very comfortable to sit in and have a little tray that pulls out which makes it nice and easy to enjoy your food or snack without having to worry about putting it on your lap as you eat. However, the coolest part of this place? The ceiling has what looks like a dark sky with stars and every so often a shooting start goes by. It's a cute little theater and the service is always great. The inside looks so cool with fun stairs and balconies around. Inside the theater itself is super cool! The ceiling is filled with twinkling stars and even some shooting stars! The theater is super big, it feels like a real theater for plays and such with large aisles and big seats. There were a lot of staff to help so it wasn't to busy or crowded before the show started. I got popcorn and shared some mozzarella sticks with a friend. The popcorn was so buttery and delicious, it was hard to stop eating it! The mozz sticks were super crispy with an amazing cheese pull, and tasty of course. 10/10 would recommend seeing a movie here and enjoying the old timey vibes all around no matter what movie you see!

You can have as many people in the car as there are seatbelts but there were just two of us. Their snack bar is now just candy and a few drinks, including beer. So if you wanted hot dogs or anything like that, you won't get it here. However, they let you bring outside food and drink--probably why they charge more. We made a huge batch of homemade butter popcorn, brought our own waters, candy, and jerky. The car next to us had brought in pizza and Chipotle, which I'd do next time. There are restrooms on the site and they were very clean and plenty of stalls (at least for women). The one thing I did NOT like aside from the price is that you have to use a radio to listen to the movie. I have a 2019 Subaru and my car battery almost died after leaving it on without the engine running for both movies. A couple people had cars that needed a jump. So either bring a handheld radio or bring jumper cables. We would come back again because we like older movies but it would be nice if they had newer movie options too. It's a cute date night if you like old school things.
