Hollywood Cinemas took what could be a boring time, waiting around for your movie to start, and made it almost more fun than any movie! Although there is every regular aspect of a movie theatre here, with concessions, comfortable seats, and more than enough screens, Hollywood added in a full arcade and a bunch of amusement rides. Whether you're big or little kid, you'll have a great time wandering around playing old arcade games, mini bowling, throwing skee ball, and jostling each other around on the bumper cars. Then, when you've used up all your tokens and before you need to quick run to your movie before the opening scene, you can cash in your tickets for some candy or goofy toys. Overall, a great place to enjoy an afternoon, watching a movie and playing around with friends at the arcade! read more

Terrible Customer experience and customer service! Sunday the 22nd of March, tried to see "Project Hail Mary" at the UltraScreen at the westhill Marcus Location. I bought a tickets online earlier in the week. My partner is paralyzed so this always works best as we can reserve the handicap seating. It was $35 with their $5 service fee. We got $30 worth of snacks when we got there and found our seats. First the theater was fridgidly cold, leave your winter jacket on cold. Then they started having issues with the trailers and the projector went dark. After only about 15 minutes they said the show was cancelled, we could go into the 1 pm showing in the regular theater. This didn't work for us, for seating and that was not what we paid for as that was a cheaper showing. No one explained refunds or anything like that till people started questioning things. No one seemed to know what was going on and the front house manager was running around all over the place. Finally we got our refund and we're then told we were going to eat the convenience fee. This totally felt like theft. We paid for a service and they couldn't provide. What did I pay a fee on, a chance to see a movie? This is ridiculous. Message customer support and got the most tobe deaf response back which I included. So, now if we want to see the same movie again, reserve seats, we will be paying roughly about $65 again(food and entry), for the same movie, after paying $35 already for a service fee and two drinks and two snacks that are anything better than gas station fare. So, that $100 for two people to see one movie at an outdated theater that can't afford heat apparently or working equipment. Gross read more

Cute theater with a cool arcade connected to it! All the workers were nice and helpful. The signage for the movies is great if you forget which theater you're in. I'd advise going on Tuesdays for their value deals if you're a rewards member (which is free) read more

I love this place!! I travel for work and there's really not much to do in Appleton. I'm done with the drinking.... and I've pretty much been to all of the restaurants in the area. Anyway - Marcus Theatres runs a $5 Tuesday deal where you can watch any movie for $5 and if you're a member, you'll get free popcorn and refills on your drink. This week, my friend and I went to see Sully - and we ended up in the Deluxe room with the "Dream Loungers" aka the most comfortable leather recliners... I was like butter --- just melted into the chair! You have the option of buying the tickets on Fandango for a convenience fee of $1.50 or the app $1.25/ticket. The nice part about buying it online is you'll be able to pick out your seats ahead of time. The customer service at the box and concession station were polite and courteous. The theatre and bathroom were clean - not much else to ask for! If you come here - definitely try to catch a movie in one of the deluxe rooms! read more

Nice theatre. The big super loungers were nice for the Avengers!! Although being almost 3 hrs long with the credits... had to run to the bathroom. Lol. Whew We got the refillable bucket for $25 initially then $4 refills. Nice!! I think I have all of them now. Since we travel.. read more

I moved here a few months back and after plenty of grueling house projects we wanted a chill night; I went to this theater with my boyfriend, once. That was enough for me. Popcorn: STALE and no area in the place for you to add salt or extra butter, not even at the counter? We threw the entire bag in the garbage. Waste of money. Theater: Seats were comfy but the floor was super sticky, pretty gross. The bathrooms were dirty, toilet paper everywhere, water all over, yuck. The area to get your sodas wasn't clean either; not to mention the soda selection is minimal. From now on we'll just order movies on our TV at home for a cleaner environment with edible popcorn. I really wish Appleton would get a Carmike Cinema; you get to doctor up your popcorn (cheese salt, extra butter, regular salt, etc.), you get to build your own soda (if I want a grape and lime flavored soda I can have it) and they are always CLEAN. read more

This theater is average with an above average entertainment area. What I mean by that - they have a merri-go-round attached to the movie theater along with an arcade area. Otherwise it is a pretty standard theater. The staff seems to be pretty friendly and accommodating. Stadium seating and an ultra screen for a more modern theater. The seats are pretty comfortable, though would be nicer if they had the seat-backs that had a little recline flexibility in them. Originally I would have said the theater was a 4 star theater. However, after viewing a movie - the sound was pretty bad. It could have been this particular showing, but it was enough to irritate me. Normally I would have complained to management about it - and I would imagine they would have done something. I did not because I was there with family (that normally doesn't care about those things) and our daughter was enjoying the movie. I am a stickler for in-focus movies with sound that is not full of static/hiss when people speak. Before you get settled in, listen closely to the audio! Make sure it sounds good, if it doesn't - I would let someone know right away. They would probably give you a refund for the show. read more

Hello! Just recently worked for Marcus Hollywood Cinema and my position was an associate and my responsibility was either doing box office (getting people there tickets) or concession. When I got hired for the job I was extremely happy because I really enjoy watching Movies, I've always wanted to work at a movie theater and see what it was like behind the scenes. My intention was to be hired as a Part-Time employee and was looking for roughly 30 hours a week and working an afternoon shift, like 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM. I made them well aware that I recently had a big surgery involving my knee and that it was going to be a long recovery time so I won't be able to do a-lot of things but nonetheless they still hired me and understood that I had a knee surgery, I also asked on how there breaks work and was told that I would need to ask in advance (before my shift starts that I would like a break, so that is what I would do) At the time of being hired I wasn't aware of how under staffed this theater was at the time, they asked me if I was able to do overnight shifts so pretty much closing the theater. I agreed to do overnight shifts but I would have to know in advance when I would be doing it and I'm only looking to do overnight shifts during the weekend and not during the week. Fast forward a couple days and its my first shift on a Friday night, I would be closing. 6:00 PM - 2:00 AM. That's an 8 hour shift, during that 8 hour shift I found out that a Manager recently quit and the Manager training me that night was also quitting. So from hearing about this my opinion on the management dropped quite a bit because they are losing people who are in management due to disliking the Head Manager. Fast forward again to Tuesday night, I'm working 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM. After seeing this shift I was quite irritated because they completely ignored my availability. I just had knee surgery and I'm looking to get back into working and earning some money on side while focusing on recovering, I can't really do that if I'm being scheduled to work 8-10 shifts every day of the week, but nonetheless I still continued to work those shifts, after working the 5:00 PM - 2:00 AM shift, I found out that now I have to work 5:00 - 3:00 AM shifts since the release of Avengers: Endgame that's 10 hour shifts, and ontop of that I was refused to be given a break because the Manager told me that they are not required to by law to give a break to people who are 18+ years old, but by law it is recommended.. This infuriates me because I told them in advance I had knee surgery and I'm looking to make a full recover but I can't be standing for 4 days in a row for 10 hours to be only paid $9.00 / hour without having a 30 minute break out of those 10 hours. The main reason this place is so under staffed of having 18+ is because they wont offer those employees a 30 minute break, who want's to work at a theater and work 10 hour shifts and be declined to have a break because there not required to by law to give a break but it is recommended too. If this Movie Theater actually cared about its EMPLOYEES they would give the ones who are 18+ years old a 30 MINUTE break if they worked more than 8+ hours.. The management is a bunch of female managers who like to have a power trip over the male associates, instead of actually talking to them nicely and telling them what they need to do they bark out orders and when something frustrates them they rather yell at you in front of customers instead of politely pulling you aside and telling you what you need to do.. Maybe you wouldn't be so under staffed if you weren't so disrespectful to your employees. Won't ever be working at a Movie Theater again because of the awful experience I received from this horrendous place, I recommend for those that are looking to get a job at Marcus Theaters should apply at the Valley Grand Cinema because that place is more updated and has the DreamLoungers obviously but the management at Valley Grand Cinema is probably 100x better than the one at Hollywood Cinema. read more

Okay cinema. Fairly clean. They don't have the nice recliners like other marcus's, just plush seats. The drawback here was the seating. First, I ordered my tickets off of Fandango and reserved two seats next to each other G11 and G12. When we got to the theater and printed out our reserved tickets, the seats said g11 and h15? I sat in the seats I ordered, and fortunately nobody was sitting in them. Second, it is very hard to see the seat numbers (because this is reserved seating, even though it is not the fancy recliners) because they are not lit. Not even the lettered aisles. Many people had to use their phones flashlight to see their seat number. read more

Went to Elvis this aft and during previews you could tell there was a problem with audio as the main voices were hushed and at times barely audible. Told manager during previews about problem and it was not fixed, went back after the movie started and talked again with manager and it still was not fixed. Missed much of dialogue and Elvis' voice was very quiet during songs which of course is what the movie is about. Should have at least offered those in theatre a refund or tixs for another time as the experience was terrible as far as a movie theatre experience goes. Don't go to a movie in theatre 3 left. read more

Just hosted a corporate event here, and WOW - -was I impressed! The staff was the most accommodating theatre staff that I've ever worked with. They went all out to make sure that our event went off without a hitch. :) Not only the management team, but even the rest of the crew was super friendly for our corporate training and movie event here. The theatres were clean... the the concession lines were moving along pretty quickly. Plus, what's cool about this place is (as others have noted) it's joined at the hip with an arcade complex area. Pretty sweet. Oh, and yes -- there was complimentary WiFi too. read more

This is our back up theater if we can't get tickets at Valley Grand for what we want or if there is a limited release they usually play at this one. I feel gross when I go here funset contributes to that because of the super greasy pizza and kids never washing hands. It just feels dirty in general so the reason I gave 3 stars is because they do manage to get limited releases and that's about it. read more

This is the only theatre my family and I go to here in town. I really enjoy it! The staff at the ticket booth is polite, as is the woman who takes the tickets on the way to the theatres! On tuesday, movie tickets are only $5 for all movies and tonight we found that there are to catches to that price. The majority of new movies come to this theatre! Plus there are 3D and UltraScreen options, so the variety is fine! read more

Nice theatre. Clean but nothing really too extravagant. What makes it unique is the large arcade complex attached to it wtih a carousel and a sort of bumper car ride, air hockey, skee ball, play area for little kids and hot dog and pizza counter. They have the ubiquitous ticket trade in system going on. But we didn't do too much of that so I can't say how good it was. You can really make an afternoon out of it, which in these 100 degree temperatures sounds good to me. read more

Not my favorite theatre in Appleton. It is really outdated compared to the other theatres and it was sorta dirty too. Some of the bathroom stales were broken and the line to get food was insanely long. They only had one register open. The seats are standard fair and not as comfortable since they have aged a bit. Popcorn was stale and cold when we got it. Could use a bit of a revamp really. Not the best but not the worst theatre I have been too. Middle of the road. read more

This place is HUGE! They honor the Marcus discount card too. You will be surprised at how fast points add up to a free movie! A nice place to get away from the heat too! read more

Rude staff. Over charged me and was very just unpleasant. The theater was very warm inside and uncomfortable. Not every screen has the dream seats which was disappointing. We usually end up driving to a different theater because this one misses on a lot of easy things read more

My friend and I went to see our first movie together at the theater. She is in a wheelchair. If I hadn't been there, there's no way she could have gone in and out of those heavy doors to access and leave the theater unless someone was there to assist her. One of those doors should either be able to open electronically or left open for the entire performance. read more

I used to come to Hollywood Cinemas a bunch when I was a teen and this place has gone downhill. The check-in processes are super slow compared to other theaters, the theaters need an update, and the lady at the ticket booth in the front is bias. We came in with our tickets pre-purchased and she made us get to the end of the ticket purchase line. I was taken aback by this as I have not seen a theater do this in ages (even in the super small towns in NC). I addressed this behavior with the ticket lady and said that I felt picked out of the crowd (my husband and I were the only ethnic people at the theater) and she said that it was because she didn't have the scanner for my online tickets. Flabbergasted I observed the ticket booth as we waited in the long line for refreshments (at least a 15 minute wait). The same employee who stopped us and made us get back in the TICKET line let a whole group of people in with their online tickets. I will not come to this place again as I would rather spend my money as a patron to a worthy place. read more

It is a theatre...it has seats and an alright sized screen. Overpriced for what you get. I say this with the experience of only going to movies in luxury cinemas that serve you alcohol and have leather seats...IMAX means the real experience and people do not talk through the film. read more

It's hard not to like this location. It seems like it'd be great for birthday parties with Fun Set Blvd which has games and mini golf. They screens here are the best in the area and so are the seats. They just remodeled for a dream lounger which I hear is amazing. The only thing that'll make this location better is having Code Red on tap. read more

I've been going to Hollywood Cinemas 3-4 times per year for the past 16 years. Since they've converted to digital the projection has been woefully dim and inadequate. The 3D movies are barely watchable. Their UltraScreen is especially dim. Just saw Django on one of their medium size screens and it was very dim and the center speaker (the one that delivers most of the dialogue) was tinny and way too low. Other than the pitiful projection it is a nice modern theater. However, for $10-12 I'd rather sit in a grungy grind house with top notch projection. It is a shame that most movie goers find this acceptable or just don't know better. read more

This is an interesting theatre, more of an entertainment center for all! I was alone to see a 530pm show. The girls that helped me were friendly and polite. The theatre appeared a bit run down but nothing specific to complain about. The restroom was clean and the theatre appeared clean as well. The sound quality was good. The seats were as comfortable as can be expected in a theatre. The only negative I experienced, and it could be because I rarely see movies, was the $10+ charge for a movie that is out of most theatres already. I thought the price was a bit steep for a midweek, older movie. On the way out I noticed a bar sign or something reading beer or wine. I think I also noted bumper cars? Perhaps an arcade is in the bad. read more

My son and I have Magical Reward Cards. We both received emails promoting free 20 oz sodas and printed them up. We went to Hollywood Cinema September 7th. I paid for both admissions with my credit card, but clerk refused to give us two sodas. Manager took me to the cashier and credited.my card for the two admissions and then proceeded to charge my card for each admission separately. and then gave us two sodas. It doesn't make any sense as both admissions will still be on the same card. This did take some time and believe manager could have handled differently. read more

I accidentally bought Tuesday tickets here. To start yes my bad but I will never make this mistake again. I didn't realize first of all all their seats were not dream lounger and I had this lovely kiddo behind me constantly kicking my seat again this one is on me due to not being educated on the website and paying attention. Second from the moment I called when I was at valley grand and found out I had the wrong place they were slower the syrup. The girl answering the phone sounded completely confused on my question. I explained how I didn't get emailed a confirmation code so I wasn't sure if they could look up my email but I'm on my way there since now I'm running late for the movie (again my bad) my answer was the slowest answer of my life "uhhhhh.... wellllllll.... we could like... scan your. card when. you get. here or like. Maybe I could.... get a manager?" Your customer service be confident in your answer and don't sound like a doped up mess. I arrived I figured out I did buy tickets to the wrong place the lady up front nicely offered me a refund I was already told the intro was a bit long so I said no it's probably still in preview phase. We waited in line for two customers in front of me and watch the employees slowly (like the sloth in zootopia I kid you not) fill popcorn take orders and look extreamly confused. Finally it's out turn now it's 6:15 I arrived at 6:05 movie started at 6:00. The employee is so confused by my moms entertainment book coupon giving her a deal on soda (I had one too so oooooh boy) to speed things up my mom asked if she could just take my cup and I'll wait for the change for her order and then my Order (things would probably go a lot coaster If you didn't limit one per customer) that was too confusing for him as I noticed I said mom don't worry about it you get to the movie on time I'll take care of it. After getting our drinks filled we then waited for a customer who had digital tickets!! Like really you have that nice box to print off tickets that can tare fast and get customers through at this point it's 6:30 I'm wishing I accepted that refund finally we get though and we find out no dream loungers (no wonder on wed when I got tickets the lion king wasn't sold out) now my backs killing me I had a kid kicking me seat and I realized why I don't spend the money at movie theaters unless it's valley grand they have amazing customer service a better set up and all theaters are the same... I would 100% not recommend Hollywood they do not not care or have efficiency highly would recommend more employee training this place is a crap show for knowing a busy night is coming read more
