This is a place that I would like to give 3.5 stars. The pizza is good. They have sodas by the pitcher for kids. There is a good selection of beer and wine for adults. There is a great variety of games to play. Friday night is teen night. This a great safe place for family fun. The prices are reasonable. My family has gone to this youth entertainment facility for over a decade since my eldest child was a toddler. Funset has hosted a few of my children's birthday parties. They have a carousel and train. Tons of games and rides. The arcade has adapted with modern rides and games. Gone are tickets to claim prizes, instead an entertainment card keeps track of points and game value. This place is ideal for families with children who want to have a fun time. read more

Unlike the new arcades with loud, bright, over stimulating machines that are overpriced and give little tickets - this arcade is SO affordable for any family and the machines consistently give a good amount of tickets so the kids can always pick out a prize without breaking the parent's bank. Bathrooms were gross, broken sink, pizza was not very good, staff had horrible body odor, waited over 15 minutes before I just grabbed the staff to use carousel they were just staring at us from the bumper carts the entire time without even approaching us or asking why we are just standing at the carousel. I asked for my pitcher and cups after ordering the pizza bundle and was snarked at that it will be given to me with the rest of my food like excuse me? I want to have a beverage now. Fries were over salted to all hell. Games were okay, but the last three times I counted each ticket and every time the scale was 50+ tickets short. Which I mean whatever shorting my kiddos on two pieces of candy, but overall disappointed. Last time we went there were two staff members that gave me the heebie-jeebies. So we didn't return back due to this for a while the one was mumbling borderline inappropriate things to himself. It was uncomfortable but I tried to not judge as I appreciated that they potentially were giving someone with a disability a job, but this is a children's place. None of the staff seemed happy or very well trained in customer service. Also the bowling that takes ten of your tokens is a joke don't even bother. There was balls you couldn't see stuck behind the pins prior to starting and at least half the of the game it kept saying foul. read more

I have mixed feelings about Funset Boulevard. My daughter had her party there and the staff did the bare minimum running the party. The food was late being announced and it ended up being cold, there was no clean up by the staff-we did it ourselves, and it was hard to find the people in charge of the party. I wouldn't recommend this for a birthday party. That being said, one of my other daughter and her friend closed up the joint. We got there at 4:30 and left when it closed at 11. They had the unlimited bands so they could do everything their heart desires! That was the best part of the whole experience! I recommend going g there if it's rainy day and if you want to make a day of it buy the unlimited bands! read more

One of those places you get what you pay for. Yes the braclet does laser tag is pretty cool, but the area is very small and crammed with all kinds of obstacles, you put more than 8 people on the team and you just stand there shooting at each other the fastest until time is up. My son and I tried 4 games that just ate our tokens and when I brought it up to the staff, they just gave me back the tokens, not really worries about fixing the machines. This is also true about some of the ones that give you tickets, the machines were out of tickets. Overall not a terrible spot if you are short on cash and want to make a very young kid happy, they don't care they just see flashing lights and are happy. But 2 stars for the staff that seemed all bummed out and the outdated games and broken equipment. read more

One of the really bad things about being essentially a large child is the fact that there is no Dave and Busters anywhere to be found anywhere in the Fox Cities in Wisconsin. Funset Blvd, by comparison, just does not quite measure up in most respects. It will satisfy your inner child jones in a pinch, but is still lacking in most areas. My initial visit was on a first date. Better to let her see my true colors from the onset I figured. The facility itself is HUGE, lots of space here, and it is well needed as there was at least 3 youth b-day extravaganzas going on during my visit. This level of utter chaos, desperately trying to be managed by a handful of adults, was almost as entertaining as any of the games or prizes. Just the expressions on their faces alone (a non-verbal "Kill me now" is a close approximation) was truly classic. All the essential components of places of this ilk are on tap here: ski ball, claw machines, air hockey, whack em, dance dance revolution, etc. but most of the machines were horribly dated for a facility this large and supposedly well financed. The claw machines in particular were a huge let down, as they were obviously set to the weakest grab setting, making winning a prize extremely difficult even for a seasoned pro player like myself. For some 5 year old? Only good for draining the wallets of the unwitting parents. Lame! The one highlight was the full size and sit down driving experience for Mario Kart 64. This was insanely fun, and I was probably pissing off tons of little kids since I placed a stack of tokens 5 inches high on the machine to let others know I was not going anywhere for awhile. Places like this are never anywhere you are going to expect superior dining, but the pizza we had was soggy and not cooked quite right. Chuck E Cheese has bad Pizza also, but at least I get a cracked out animatronic display to keep me company while I eat there. All in all, I will probably be back to this place, but it is hard to feel very enthusiastic about it. read more

We took the kids here on our Labor Day weekend getaway to Appleton. I had researched things for us to do prior to going, and found Funset's website. We liked the $13.95 deluxe wristband option. This was great for my son who got to play several rounds of laser tag (my daughter did one round, but found the vest/pack too heavy for her). Both kids loved the bumper cars. It was a fun couple hours for them, and it didn't break the bank. Way to go, Funset! read more

What a fun place for the whole family to have fun together! So many games to play, an area for babies and toddlers as well as things for older kids such as laser tag and bumper cars. On a snowy day this is the place to be. There are decent food options at the Funset grill right inside including wraps and burgers that come with fries. I had great experiences with each of the restaurant employees I met and they were all courteous even though it was a madhouse on the day I went. Prices are pretty decent to play games and get a pass for the day. All in all I highly recommend visiting this place or frequenting it when you're in town. read more

Bumper cars and laser tag are really the only fun thing about this place. Games are out dated and some of them will eat up your tokens like a hungry hippo. When using the rest room the toilet was not attached to the wall. Staff were not interested in what was going on around them. There is an extreme lack of tables for placing your cake or belongings. We had to all stand to eat cake. If at the end of the day the place was kept up better it would have been a big blast as the prices are decent. read more

While my son loves it here, I do want to mention that you must watch your children if they are curious toddlers! We trusted that the enclosed play area was safe for him, and waited in the sitting area for parents right in front. To my horror, my son scaled the 3-4 foot net fence and was walking on the train tracks! The guy driving the train wasn't even looking, too busy checking his Facebook status I think. I ran and jumped the fence and snatched him up before being ran over by the train. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch your children and don't trust them to be contained by the small net fence, and don't depend on the kid driving the train to do anything. read more

Do NOT go to Funset to play regular arcade games. My son and I tried to play about 15 total games, ALL were broke (not exaggerating). Buck hunter - gun was not calibrated, shoots down and right about 6 inches. Not even playable. Bubble Hockey - put money in, no puck came out. I noticed that the game had 10 credit in it after putting my money in. Must have been broken for a while. X-files pinball - right flipper too weak to get ball up ramp, left slingshot does not work. Cabinet not level, making balls coming out of loop go straight down the center outhole. South Park pinball - left flipper stuck 1/4 on, display washed out and not legible. Flipping 2 player soccer game - put money in, game would not start. Need I go on??? The kid behind the counter got tired of me pointing out problems with games that wouldn't start and/or play. He looked bored and said that there was nothing he could do about it (meaning that my complaints went in one ear and out the other). Eventually, I got tired of trying broken games and just wanted to use up my tokens to get out of there. Maybe the redemption games keep them in business, since little kids have no clue when a game doesn't work? read more

The 7 dollar deal in a weekday is pretty good. The laser tag isn't great, but not bad and unlimited use for 7 bucks is worth it. It's really the only thing worth paying for, but worth it nonetheless. The games are mostly outdated and quite expensive, even for games that are from the 90's. My biggest issue is the weighing system they use for ticket counting. My son had 115 tickets (I counted) and the gave him credit for 70. I wouldn't care if it was off by 5 percent or so, but 40? That's ridiculous. When I have 4 kids paying outrageous amounts to get tickets so they can get ridiculously cheap prizes, then have their ticket amount reduced that much, I have a problem with that. Probably our only visit. I give the 2 stars for the laser tag. read more

Asked about passes that expire in September. I was told if it expires while they are open, then that's when it expires. They care more about the expiration date of passes given out because of a past mess up than the health and well being of patrons. 4 of the 5 times my family and I have gone to this place and something was messed up. On the theater side, they extended the expiration to November. Funset should do the same. After all, they are both owned my Marcus. read more

For starters I will say I tried to bring this up to what I assumed was management (hard to tell who's in charge here)...... Paid top dollar for a birthday party for my son here, laser tag package. Got there a little early and room was pretty plainly set up. When I got the kids into the room they sat there for the first 10 min (of the 60 we had the room for) doing NOTHING. There was ZERO put into this top priced package. Host was nothing more than a server or pizza and cake - even that my wife and I had to help serve (9 kids mind you so not a huge amount). They don't play games, they don't interact, they don't help with writing down names of who gave what for later thank you cards, they bring out the pizza and the cake and pitchers of soda..... Not even light the candles on the cake - they put it out and I had to light it. For this I spend nearly $200....... They didn't even bring the kids to their laser tag time slot - had I not realized it they would have missed it. Sadly I could've used a coupon and gotten 9 unlimited bands for less than $100 and done a party right in their pizza parlor area - would have been cheaper and I wouldn't have had to even move everything out 60 min after getting there Suggestion - take note to how other places interact with the kids because this was extremely inadequate for what was supposed to be a hosted party for a 7 year old. And when I'm tailed to a table to pay the bill as I'm trying to get my stuff moved out of the "party" room i found that pretty darn insulting considering I was being rushed out and basically tackled to pay the bill which I wanted to pay at the start when I was standing twiddling my thumbs waiting for someone to do something with my son and his friends. I'm sure you can figure out who this is by the fact my son had an 11:30 party on Saturday the 21st of January. I won't leave my name here so since he was the ONLY one in that slot I think your staff can sort it out - and zero excuses for this since he was the ONLY on in this slot so it should have been easy to accommodate. read more

Attached to a theatre in Appleton, Funset is essentially an arcade and activity center that's good for kids and maybe adults too. They have things like mini-golf, laser tag, and bumper cars, along with a selection of traditional arcade games. Perhaps the best feature is a very well done playground area for the younger kids, including a dedicated area for toddlers and a huge playland structure that has several slides, a clean(!) ball pit, which extends over the tracks of their nice little train ride. We've enjoyed this facility many times in the past (we probably make it up once a year or so), but in recent times it's been sliding a little. In particular, it seems light on staff. There used to be someone in charge of the playground, but on a busy Saturday we found it being occasionally tended by the kid running the train ride, who clearly wanted to be doing just about anything else. I can understand that running the train ride for hours on end is a mind-number. Maybe they ought to rotate people between stations or something, though. Further, clearly the playground really needed its own attendant: there were BIG kids running wild through it, kids without socks on, and worst of all, patrons kept leaving the gates open, which provides ample opportunity for toddlers to escape if you're busy looking for one of your other kids. The design of the toddler area is especially frustrating since you cannot see one end of it from the other, and since it's the easiest way to see into the play structure, parents looking for their older kids seem to like to walk in AND LEAVE THE GATE OPEN when they come in to call their kids out of the play structure. In the past, the person responsible for the playground area had largely been a gate-closer. If they don't want to pay someone, some springs and a kid-safe latch, maybe? It's still a nice place to visit, but it's not quite what it once was. They really need to address some staffing issues. One extra employee and maybe rotating the staff would be a good idea. read more

There are perks and there are drawbacks. A lot of the staff seem to be over working there and don't like to interact a whole lot or pay you much attention. The food at the grill also isn't great. If you treat it just as an arcade, it's very nice! There are a lot of electronic games, and most don't give tickets. There is a wide selection of mechanical games though, such as press the button to stop the light and win tickets! A favorite of mine is flip the token. A lot of games have jackpots that you can win to earn over 100 tickets at once. Some of the claw machines actually pick up prizes. There are games for all ages. There is a play area for small children, a merry go round, even bowling and laser tag! I highly suggest giving it a try. read more

I want to update this review and be a bit more honest. It's okay. Just okay. Some of the games could use a bit of tweaking maybe, and I saw a few that were out of order, but they don't work bad. It's just outdated. There's three pinball machines (South Park, X-Files, and Austin Powers) that have been there for YEARS. Makes the arcade a bit stale and boring. But then you have awesome classics like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, SEGA Rally, Manx TT, Crazy Taxi, Harley-Davidson LA Riders, etc. Now, to back things up, Harley-Davidson & LA Riders is one of my favorite games and the one here works perfectly after years of use. Knock on wood! Crazy Taxi played fine. I got an S-rank and left my name at 19th place on the high score list. Decent value here as well. $20 will get you 120 tokens -- so you're getting about $40 worth of gameplay. Although it's outdated, I still enjoy killing time at Funset Boulevard when I go to WI once a year. If only they upgrade to new pinballs, it will be even better. read more

If I ever walk into Funset and not have any issues with an arcade game, token machine or the like - I would give Funset 5 stars. That has yet to happen since they built it. I used to work in an arcade and know how easy it really is to fix these issues. The coin arcade games always have some issues. The good: It is a great place for 12 and under. If you play ticket games they usually work quite well. The larger items like the bumper cars, playland and everything outside are always in good working order and clean. The bad: They usually fix arcade games less than once every 6 months. Don't bother to come for the pinball. They used to have over 6 machines but didn't keep the quality up. Then the workers would say that they are unpopular. Who plays pinball with broken parts, flippers that stick or don't work and then can't see the details under the glare of the lights. Don't forget they arranged the tilt to difficult. I don't think they ever waxed them either. The 25 cent games have glued down buttons and a difficult settings but they finally fixed the coin slots. Watch for screens that are faded. I gave up on laser tag but my daughter says it is good, if you get a good vest. Currently, as of 7/11, all the driving games have 100% working parts. I can't stand spending $.50-$1 on a game that has buttons, levers and such not working. It ruins the fun of the game. I usually visit the desk for a refund 3 times for every $5. read more

Honestly this place could be much better but the truth is that it's much worst. Laser tag was horrible. We went to the check in desk and had our names crossed off for being on time. There was only four if us in the whole place. When we did get in it was ok but when we wanted to sign up again we weren't allowed to sign up back to back games. Still there's only four of us in the whole gaming building. The game are out dated and most are broken. It's sad to have so much potential in a good market to be so disappointed. read more
