Marshall, the technician who came out, went thru my entire system and found that it was merely a small condensation valve and line that needed to be cleared out. He completed that job in just a few minutes and stayed with me until the house had cooled down from 88 to 78 degrees. This service was a small fraction of the cost of a new compressor. Professional, prompt, caring. How refreshing it is to have an honest vendor tell you the truth and do the job with an eye on long term relationships and not short term profits. It was a nightmare situation as a previous contractor broke it and left me abandoned and my main water supply wouldn't turn off so I could literally not sleep for 24 hours as I had to empty a bowl every 30 to 60 minutes (the supply valve is low so it would not accommodate anything larger underneath) or it would flood and ruin the new flooring that was just installed. It did ruin my brand new baseboard that I had just had installed the day before. He kept blaming me saying by turning the giant nut I somehow ruined the pipe which I don't understand but I did everything to try and loosen the bolt under urgent and impossible conditions and stress and I found no special instructions or tool that specified one as a necessity to use on it in all my research or that I had done anything wrong, but it had been there for 30 years and was fused on tight and wouldn't budge even with two vise grips. With the flooding happening I was desperate to get it removed so I thought that his continuous commentary was strange. He also said I had to loosen that nut clockwise as if it were reversely threaded but discovered that was not the case multiple times in my research so again I'm very confused. If something had been critically missed I wish he would've at least told me or made it clear what my alternative was otherwise assigning blame does little good; I am not an experienced plumber. I did not see nor was ever shown how he ultimately removed it so the whole point was moot. He walked off with my channel locks which I informed him of immediately after he left. He said he didn't have it then the next day he said he did but that he couldn't return them until after I left the area for a couple weeks at which point I told him he could drive out to my house. Luckily he changed his mind and returned them that morning as it really isn't my responsibility to retrieve them. I had been thru two days of hell from the previous contractor with 8 hours sleep over three nights. But he did the job and it took him no more than 15 to 20 minutes. There's a really big gash in my wall now where the valve is but I guess he had to do that to cut the pipe. I will have to find a wall cover plate or something to hide it or else patch it up. I then had to call another contractor to check the toilet seating as the flooring installer who left me with the leaking supply valve was supposed to handle it but did not do it right. Ultimately I had to hire three contractors in 36 hours for the same bathroom.

We had a good experience with Allegiance Water Services overall - everyone we interacted with was…read morefriendly, professional, and great about communicating. They were able to narrow down our water leak to the main irrigation line and brought out a listening device to try to pinpoint exactly where the leak was located. Unfortunately, they weren't able to find it with the listening equipment. My main concern was that injecting gas into the line to further localize the leak was never presented to us as another option. Instead, the recommendation was to replace the entire mainline, which would have been a fairly substantial project and required cutting through our concrete patio. Given the scope of the proposed work, we decided to get a second opinion before moving forward. The second company injected gas into the irrigation line, rapidly located the leak (thankfully nowhere near the patio), and was able to repair that specific section without any major construction necessary. Overall, Allegiance was very pleasant to work with and I suspect they're quite good for many plumbing and water-related issues. Based on our experience, though, if you have an irrigation leak they can't locate with the listening device and the next recommendation is a complete line replacement, I'd definitely get a second opinion and ask whether gassing the line is an option before committing to a much larger project.

I have had 2 hot water heaters installed with them and have been very pleased with the installations in both. I had a Bradford White water heater installed by them in 2018. And while I have seen many statements saying they are the best in the industry, was disappointed when in failed after only 8 years. I was told by them, that this was pretty normal for water heaters. I have been around for many years and in my experiences, the Bradford White lasted about half as long as all other water heaters I have owned. In, addition, the installation and warranty costs about 4x the cost of the heater, so I felt that this was a lot of expense for such a short lifespan. I was still suffering from sticker shock when my Bradford White failed. I called Benjamin Franklin hoping I could get some warranty compensation. Wouldn't you know, the warranty had just expired. Ugh! Okay, one of the things that Benjamin Franklin is very good at is fast service. They were out at my house the same day. Kudos for that! This time I was told that I would get better longevity and a better warranty with a Navien tankless unit. I had always wanted to try one of these. They are supposed to be more efficient as well because they don't have to keep 50 gallons of water hot. Okay, they had my ear, but again, the unit was terribly expensive; a little more than 4x the cost of the $2,000.00 unit. That includes the service calls to clean the unit once/year for the 10 year warranty term. This is required to keep from voiding the warranty and important with these units. The installation was done in one long day. The tech was here until about 8pm, but did a very nice job. Last, I expressed my concern to the tech. that sold the unit to me, about the cost of the tankless unit, he told me that there were federal incentives and Mfr. rebates that would help. After the installation, I contacted the Mfr. and was told that there were no rebates or incentives for 2026. Seems Benjamin Franklin should have known this. Professional work, super-fast service, but really expensive.
