She later came back , got our table trash, and topped off our tea. Not many plans have that kind of service. The dining room is nice, clean, and bright. We are always greeted quickly, served fast, and the food is always hot and delicious. The red sauce will change your life. It is so good! I'm removing two stars for some frustrating and sadly ironic reasons…read more Junction is now under new ownership and it's not going well. The new owner has raised prices, reduced portion sizes, increased wait times for food readiness, and increased wait times for food ordering. Nearly all of the front-of-house staff has been replaced and there is a definite vibe of unrest when I walk in now (the few times that I still go there) Chip portions are bleak, the wraps are about two-thirds their previous size, and everything costs more... a recipe for disaster in my opinion. This was the ONE business in Mebane that needed absolutely nothing... it was turn key for any new owner and a guaranteed hit with the locals. Within a few months, the feedback from me and everyone else I've talked to is that it's now on the decline and we no longer recommend it to visitors, or family visiting. Absolute shame... but I shouldn't be surprised.

This place is everything but quick.. it took us 40 minutes to get our order, the fries were cold and the rest of the food was just kinda meh. It's quite a shame given the price, I'm guessing they get away with it because there's not really a lot of options to choose from her food and drink. The only reason I'm doing a two star is because my husband said he liked the brew choice and the bread in his sandwich was good ----- Updating given recent remarks in response to my review ---- I appreciate the response to the review, however, I want to be clear that I did not state anything to the nature of referring to or expecting pricing to be in line with fast food pricing... If this is what I was seeking, we certainly would have gone elsewhere (fast food within half a mile) I can only assume someone else has made this remark to the business in the past, however, the comment on pricing specifically related to the sheer amount of food given. i.e. my husbands sandwich had very little protein on it and relied on getting filled by the bread and extra side of fries purchased.

For dinner, I had the Johnson Club, onion rings, and sweet tea. The club was and still is one of the best club sandwiches I've ever had. The amount of protein is plentiful, and the addition of the egg puts this over the top. The restaurant is a bakery so the bread used for the sub is soft and fresh. The onion rings were hot, had the perfect amount of crisp and they were not soggy like other places I've been to. Overall, I left with nostalgia and I am definitely looking forward to coming back! Customer Service: Upon arrival, the waitresses welcomed me in and invited me to sit anywhere. I was promptly tended to and my waitress was soooooo friendly!!! It's the southern charm and politeness I miss the most about North Carolina and neighboring areas. Already knowing the sandwich I wanted, I took her advice between the fries and onion rings and she didn't steer me wrong! I appreciate her work ethic and making sure that everyone in the dining room had what they needed and helping a few others (some first timers!) decide on what they wanted. Ambiance: This place is casual, and intimate in a way. It's not a huge space but it's big enough for multiple groups to enjoy lunch or small families to have a sit-in dinner. I highly recommend this place as a stop on any commute between Charlotte and the Research Triangle Area.

I've been to Knucklehead Barbecue several times now. After some initial getting up to speed, they…read morehave gotten things in a very good (Q) groove. I have gone there at least a half dozen times in the last few months. Brisket and pulled pork are really great. The cornbread muffins are fantastic. And, that succotash, which I had never had before, is absolutely, "reach across the table and slap grandma", fabulous. Really, I had never had succotash before. It looks like a mess, but wow, the tomatoes, corn, lima beans, and whatever else is in there, set my tastebuds on end! The hoppin john is great too, but the succotash! I don't usually like french fries with anything on them but salt or a bit of spicy rub, but whatever that crispy stuff is on the outside is very good. My only lament now is that they don't have Cheerwine on the fountain or in 20 oz bottles. But insofar as the Q goes, this is the real thing and it's done very well. Oh, and the sauces, they are great. I wish though that the hot was a bit hotter and maybe a bit more viscous. But I mix it with the house and its great. I do also love the mustard sauce. I mix that with the other two as well. Now that white sauce, it doesn't appeal to me. I've had it, but I'm from the midwest barbecue triangle, St Louis, Kansas City and Nashville where red sauce is king! Other than that, I can't say Knucklehead is better than a few other Q joints I frequent, but they have definately kicked up their game and are putting out food that is on par for great food that is what I see as competition for the other places in town. The two on the south side of 85/40 are okay for a quick hop of the highway and get back on. Neither is of the high quality Q that should be expected. Knucklehead and that other place (on the other side of the tracks) are real competition for each other. Neither though (bowls over) the other. The one think I do want to praise is that on my most recent visit a couple of days ago, I noticed their rating from the food inspector service was %100. A rating of 100 for any restaurant is very difficult to achieve. I rarely see a 100 rating. To me, a 100 rating tells me that they have taken to task getting things done in a manner of high quality. It means they are taking steps that put them into a mode that they keep their kitchen and food preperation on par as if it was my own kitchen.

Was a bit put off by the sight of only a few customers in such a large dining area, but it's lunch on an off day, so just go with it. The pizzas were arranged in a row under glass at the counter with a pretty wide selection. Your basic S&P, a white pizza with spinach, a Hawaiian looking pie, and a veggie pie. I went for a slice of the S&P as well as the spinach and feta with tomato. About 5-10 minutes later, I had my slices and sprinkled some crushed red pepper flakes on them for a little kick to the palate. All in all... good slices... flavorful, with good distinction of the spices in the sausage and pepperoni. The crust felt a little too much chew, but still held up the ingredients well and didn't leave any crumbs on the plate. I don't know if this is the best location... considering I'd never even heard of it, but will do my best to make it back over there to try some other pies.
