The short review is that this office is amazing and their staff is a awesome. Definitely recommend. If you're still reading, I started out with seeing the PA and she assessed the situation and then scheduled me for testing. The audiology department was amazing and then I was referred to have CTs done to recreate my sinus cavity area and my inner ears. Following that I had a virtual appointment with Dr. Dean, he was able to explain everything that was going on and I felt very comfortable with his explanations. I scheduled my surgery before the end of the year as soon as I could and this is my story. They did two different procedures and I was really out of it last night but doing much better today. Woke up feeling a little congested but that's what was to be expected post surgery for the next 3 days. A little sore but not a lot of pain. Yes, my appointment was supposed to be at 1:15 and I didn't get seen until probably 3:45 for my procedure, but delays are to be expected. All in all, I understood from working in the dental field for 18 years, that surgery and timing never goes as you expect. There were some patience before me that had come from out of state and they had a lot of questions which then made everything take a lot longer. My daughter (11 years old) had a hard time with me having surgery, but she got to come back with me during my pre-surgery prep. The nurse was great with her and answered any questions she had. Both the Anesthesiologist and the ENT doctor came in and answered any questions we had. I really didn't have any, the doctor explained everything so well at my last appointment. My daughter got to ask questions if she wanted to, but she seemed much better after talking with the nurse for a while. They were all so understanding and kind to my daughter. I love that the nurse connected with her on a personal level. It seemed to help relax her anxiety connecting on a more personal level, which in turn relaxed me. I walked back to the procedure room in the office and my daughter went out to the front with her Daddy (my husband). The procedure was supposed to take about 45 minutes then about 30 for recovery. There wasn't much pain that I was feeling except for a lot of pressure on my nose. We used an ice pack and I had an additional Tylenol on top of the meds that they gave me in the office, which helped. I'm so thankful for this ENT as I've been in pain for the last 6 years. I had a post nasal drip in my left ear. It would run down my left ear and into the back of my throat down my neck. I've also had several ear infections along the way. He was very concerned about my issues. We did did audiology hearing tests, because I'm hard of hearing on that side too. We also did two CTs of my ear canal and my sinus is where they recreated 3D. I'm so thankful I did because he found something that my Kaiser doctors did not find 6 years ago. They brushed it off and told me that it was a post nasal drip and I needed to just get on an allergy medication, nasal spray and learn to live with it as this, was my new normal. (Their words). I didn't appreciate the first Kaiser's ENT's answer so I saw a second one for another opinion. He saw that I had seen the first doctor and he said, "Oh he's really good, I agree with his findings." I felt hopeless. I am so glad that I went and saw Dr. Marc Dean and he was able to help me. Because of the CT he was able to find things that the other doctors didn't see. Also he asked me if I had lost my sense of taste and smell. Well of course I had covid in 2021 and yeah I have lost some of my taste and smell. He said that there was some bone that was covering a part of something and if he were to remove that I would most likely get all of my smell and taste back. What it wasn't covid related. That's awesome! Hopefully, I recover well and if you're still reading this, thank you. This is my story and I am so happy to be on the other side of this at this point. I have never been the same after my operation with Dr. Dean. For years now, I have been unable to breathe reliably out of one side of my nose (which wasn't even the original problem side). For months after the surgery, It felt like he didn't believe my pain or issues. Year later, I tried to connect with them again to make things right, but their support staff messed up both prescriptions, and scans/referrals, causing months and months of delay to treatment. I can't in good conscious recommend this doctor. Every time I can't breath correctly, I regret my decision. Every time I wake up from this inescapable pain, I curse his name. Marc Dean butchered my nose, and it feels like he doesn't care. Don't make the same mistake as me. read more

I wonder if Dr. Dean is aware that his staff NEVER calls his patients back to make follow up appointments, When you call, you get the run around and a "we'll call you," but they don't. Also, not one med i was prescribed was ever called in by the staff member who was responsible to do so even after placing follow up calls. Sad, I really liked Dr. Dean. read more

We were referred to Dr Dean in Fort Worth Texas by a Doctor in Houston, Texas. Dr Dean is a surgeon specializing in the Ear and Sinus. And in our case I can say he is a Life Saver! Very very thankful that the Houston Doctor sent us to see Dr Dean! Background-My husband had complained of extreme ear pain when flying. The Doctor in Houston wanted to insert tubes in his ear or perform an Ear Balloon Dilation to correct the issue. For various reasons we didn't want to have the procedure done in a hospital setting. At this point the Houston Doctor recommended us to Dr Dean in Fort Worth Texas saying that he was one the pioneers of this fairly new procedure. Why the 5 Star rating? Dr Dean ordered a CT scan, and other testing (whose fancy medical names I won't bore you with if I even knew them). He then spent 45 minutes going over the results with us. He is personable. He didn't rush. He evaluated. He asked a lot of questions. He confirmed. His demeanor is confident but not pushy. When he reviewed the scan it confirmed what he had suspected. .......again we really really like this doctor all the way from his bedside manner, his intelligence to his cowboy boots. What we have now had confirmed by Dr Dean and other Doctors is there is tumor on the carotid artery in the eustcian tube. The procedure the original Houston Doctor wanted to do could have ruptured the carotid artery resulting in a massive stroke or death. Avoid this snake-oil salesman. He promises a lot upfront to get you in the door, then doesn't follow through. He also seems to be looking for guinea pigs for a new treatment he's researching. He told me that he could fix my son's complicated ear condition, convinced me to pay for expensive CT scans on my son's sinuses at a special lab he works with, and to schedule a sinus surgery that he claimed was linked to my son's ear condition. I took notes of the appointment, and upon talking to the hospital in preparation for the surgery, I learned that the surgery would not be as simple as Dr. Dean had claimed, and made an appointment to discuss the matter further. At this appointment Dr. Dean was openly hostile, and what he now said about the surgery did not match my notes from the earlier appointment when he'd talked us into surgery. The surgery would be significantly more invasive and complicated than he had originally said, with less assurance of a helpful result, and he also described how some nerve monitoring would be done during it (this is what he is researching). I took my son to another sinus doctor who looked at the CT scans and didn't see any problem at all- no indication for surgery whatsoever. I will also add that he works in a small, standalone clinic in an average neighborhood, nothing impressive. He's not part of a larger practice. He puts himself forward as an expert and innovator, but if he was, you'd think a major practice would want to work with him, or he'd have a more affluent practice. Stay away from this doctor!!!! My wife went in because of sinus and headache problems. He did some tests and determined it looked like she may have a sinus infection. They did some cultures and finally determined that she has Stenotrophomonas Maltophilia. He was puzzled because he had never heard of it before. I am told he should have referred her to a Infectious Disease Specialist because the treatments didn't work. He decided to do a total of 4 surgeries within a 12 month period, damaged her ears beyond repair and then gave up on her. read more

Dr marc dean is awesome and answer all my questions without no hesitations. My dgtr was getting ear infection every other month more than normal. The pedi continue to give her meds but it stop it temp. Went to a specialist the dr ingnored me and sd to put tubes in her ears..... My dgtr already had tubes in her ear during all this and i wanted to try smething else the specialist was to busy on his phone and i walked out and went to dr marc dean.... He helped soooo much and aftr going to him fr a year my dgtr only had 2 ear infections the whole yr...... Thank you, dr marc dean!!! read more
