I…read moreended up paying $31k out of $41 for a Lowe's builder grade master bathroom and she never gave us faucets, mirrors, lights or vanities!! She only brought me Lowe's Tile even after I said I didn't want it. All the tile was heavily discounted or being discontinued. She charged us $15,250.60 for the shower and she didn't want to tile to the ceiling. The tile butted out from the crown so much so that we had to have the crown removed and replaced in the shower, which she charged us $2156 for 3 pieces of crown molding. I had to buy more tile from Lowe's later on and it was $3.50 a piece. In a meeting, she mentioned how she wouldn't work with someone who had their own tile even though she kept referring to a client and showing me photos who spent $50k on their bath. Lo and behold she let it slip how that client had their own tile. However, she loved to reference that photo. We paid her $2449.50 to supply and install a frameless shower door. The first shower was broken. She accused us of breaking it! It took total 8 weeks when it was supposed to be 4 weeks and we only got a partial bathroom. Eventually we did get a replacement shower but she refused to just refund that money from the contract and let us have it installed with my new contractor. She only offered a new shower which she ordered on Wayfair for $500. We paid her $412.30 for vanity lights. I was able to see these because she had them delivered to my house. They were $30 each from Amazon! They looked so cheap and dinky. We paid her $375 for mirrors. After seeing the lights, I refused the mirror. In good faith, I gave her back the Delta faucets over $475 with explicit warning that we would not pay for them. She gave some ridiculous reason about insurance and those faucets. At every turn her answers were no, can't be done or pay more. At one point, she told me the look I wanted for my niche was an AI generated photo and that it wasn't real! It was such a farce. We went round and round over a basic built in look I decided for the niches. She talked me out of one large niche instead of 2 citing it would look messy with my bottles. At the time, I agreed. I hate them now because I lost precious space and her worker shorted me even more space by leaving excessive tile overhang all around. To achieve this look, a carpenter needed to perform a miter cut. She referred to her guy as a 'master carpenter.' Any master carpenter should be able to perform a miter cut. Either her 'master carpenter' could not do it or she just refused. She never said why or gave the option for us to pay extra for this one. She cost me a 15 year warranty with my heated floor, which initially she only wanted to do a strip from the door to toilet. She charged me $2778.75 for that strip then told me for $400 more, I could have the entire floor. Of course we chose the whole floor. I had a previous quote from another contractor for $2k on that floor. We now have a 10 year warranty because she didn't own the megohmmeter to perform all the necessary tests required by Schluter for the floor. She also almost ruined my lifetime warranty on parts because she didn't use the specific mortar required. Thankfully, I caught it in time for them to purchase the correct mortar. She refused to give me the warranty info during the installation process which would have clarified she didn't have the meter. She waited until the end and beyond with my husband and I begging her for the warranty information. She was completely unorganized and tried to appear more important than we think she was. Her assistant LIVES in INDIA! She's so cheap she employs a woman who has to work nights to answer your emails. Even her subcontractors, electricians, refuse to work with her anymore. The electrician apologized to me one day because he was standing there during a conversation with me, Valentina and her workers, which btw, she sent her workers home then, stating they were frustrated. Her spanish only speaking workers looked confused. It was 10:30am and they'd only been there maybe an hour. The electrician apologized for Valentina on that day and told me I wasn't the only person who had issues dealing with her, that she can be aggressive and bully ppl into doing what she wants instead of the homeowner. The kicker and the reason we fired Valentina was because she measured the vanities incorrectly. She wanted to cut my door trim or better yet, she wanted her 'master carpenter' to cut the back of the vanity, which may have affected the drawers. She wanted to charge us a custom fee on top of that if they were cut, after the $10k we spent for the vanities. I learned just how inexpensive those vanities were during this process. She later charged us $1500 for a restocking fee for those vanities!! She said she would, "write off that remaining balance for us." Yelp cut me off at 5000 words

Overall, I'd recommend KJ Natural Stone and I'd use them again.

My contractor sent me there to select my stone, and provided them with my budget allowance and measurements. My original selection was out of budget, and a month later I went back in person and switched my selection to a different quartz that was cheaper and that I liked better. I was told very clearly at that time by the staff onsite that the NEW selection I was making was within budget. After installation, and when I was reconciling payments with my contractor, I saw that I was being charged 1.5x my allowance for a stone called "Calacatta Vega," a quartz that looks nothing like what I chose and what was installed in my home. No matter which distributer or reseller I looked at online and in person, every time it came up, Calacatta Vega was a bright white with bold black veining; the stone I actually selected and what was installed in my home is creamy white with soft gray and gold swirls. I went onsite after seeing the erroneous invoice and KJ Natural Stone would not show me another slab with the name of what they billed me for, would not show me another slab matching what I had selected at the time, and repeated over and over that stone names are irrelevant. Tingy, the rep I worked with, was snippy and condescending, refused to investigate or even consider that perhaps I was being charged for the wrong stone, repeatedly said it wasn't her problem, and dismissed all evidence--including photos of the quartz in my home and pictures of the named stone I was charged for on MULTIPLE sites online. She continued to talk over me, stating that "You got the stone you selected," over and over. That is in no way what I am questioning. I know that I received the stone that I selected, however I am certain the stone I am being CHARGED for is not what's in my home.

We scheduled the job and Bernie came exactly on time and made the repair with no complaining about the fact that working in a crawlspace is pretty hard to do and makes the job much more difficult. This, of course, was totally his idea because he's creative like that. The cutting board is beautiful, solid, and functional, adding 30% more surface area to our kitchen. It's far superior to the ironing board that was there previously. He used top notch parts, sourced from specialty cabinet makers, to construct it. Ian was also timely and cleaned up after himself. I would feel confident hiring Ian for bigger projects, as I have seen him helping his former employer (my Dad) build bathrooms, kitchens, basements, and more. Contributors who get too emotional and write long rants about a business or service are generally dismissed. Plus, if you're lazy, like me, you won't read anything that's too long. The most important takeaway is that I'm presenting facts, not opinions. So, I highly suggest that if you are in need of natural/stone materials (marble and granite), you read this review and consider avoiding United Granite. I've had nothing but trouble with United Granite from the jump. For those who are impatient, lack the time to read a long review, or haven't taken their Adderall, here's the short version. - Customer Service: Poor (UG doesn't stand by their work, doesn't stand by their products/materials, and repeatedly told me why they couldn't correct the problems I was having with my new granite surround while continually reminding me that I was lucky to get the purchase price I received for this particular type of granite because the price per square foot increased since the original purchase date. What are those problems? Two cracks. One upon installation, which they did a reasonable job collecting, and the second, appearing for no discernible reason at all over the holidays. Strangely, this second crack was in the flat horizontal cross-piece of granite at the top of the surround. When I contacted UG about this, they said there was nothing they were willing to do, and essentially refused to send anyone out to even take a look at the issue and try to correct it) - Tech/Installer Proficiency: Below Avg (template technician was totally lost and the installers made excuses as to why they couldn't or wouldn't do things that I've since learned are simple and rudimentary for a fireplace surround installation. And oh, yeah - they cracked a piece of granite while installing it) - Quality of Installation: Poor (installer cracked the floor slab in front of the hearth on day one. UG had to dispatch yet another technician to fill the crack and re-polish the slab. Of everyone I dealt with, this particular technician seemed to be the only one who really knew what he was doing, and his work was satisfactory) - Quality of Materials/Products: Poor (most of the detail about my issues with the granite are above, but how ridiculous is it that they offer granite that is so flimsy that it cracks upon installation, and cracks again for absolutely no apparent reason at all? What's more, why would UG increase the price of granite that is so fragile that it can't even support itself when affixed to a wall? I have since learned that the reason the price went up was more for UG's convenience than because of the actual 'high quality' of the granite. One of their customer reps disclosed to me that this particular type of granite was a real pain to deal with because it was so fragile. OK, well then why is UG even offering it to customers, and why did they increase the price by nearly 50%?) Bottom line - look elsewhere for your granite Bottom line: Consumers should avoid purchasing materials or paying for services provided by United Granite. Failing to do so would be a frustrating and costly mistake easily avoided by seeking more dependable and reputable alternatives for their granite and tile needs. They're not the only game in town, and as I mentioned above, spending a few more dollars per square foot will help you avoid a lot of hate and discontent in the future.
