We renovated our kitchen last winter and I'm still in love with our new quartz countertops. It was such a great investment that we enjoy every day. We shopped around and KJ Natural Stone was a competitive price. I think we chose the Calacatta Vienna quartz and it's just beautiful. Norvin was our contact and he was so helpful and friendly from start to finish. Just a note that it's free for them to drill holes for soap dispensers/etc. during installation, but after it is $195 for them to come back out. Overall, I'd recommend KJ Natural Stone and I'd use them again. read more

The craftsmanship of my countertop was fine, but I will never use KJ Natural Stone again, nor can I recommend them. My contractor sent me there to select my stone, and provided them with my budget allowance and measurements. My original selection was out of budget, and a month later I went back in person and switched my selection to a different quartz that was cheaper and that I liked better. I was told very clearly at that time by the staff onsite that the NEW selection I was making was within budget. After installation, and when I was reconciling payments with my contractor, I saw that I was being charged 1.5x my allowance for a stone called "Calacatta Vega," a quartz that looks nothing like what I chose and what was installed in my home. No matter which distributer or reseller I looked at online and in person, every time it came up, Calacatta Vega was a bright white with bold black veining; the stone I actually selected and what was installed in my home is creamy white with soft gray and gold swirls. I went onsite after seeing the erroneous invoice and KJ Natural Stone would not show me another slab with the name of what they billed me for, would not show me another slab matching what I had selected at the time, and repeated over and over that stone names are irrelevant. Tingy, the rep I worked with, was snippy and condescending, refused to investigate or even consider that perhaps I was being charged for the wrong stone, repeatedly said it wasn't her problem, and dismissed all evidence--including photos of the quartz in my home and pictures of the named stone I was charged for on MULTIPLE sites online. She continued to talk over me, stating that "You got the stone you selected," over and over. That is in no way what I am questioning. I know that I received the stone that I selected, however I am certain the stone I am being CHARGED for is not what's in my home. read more

Before pickup, I personally visited their location, where they showed me the slab they would be using, along with the sink. Unfortunately, the final product did not meet our expectations. Rather than making any claims, we are simply sharing photos of their work and letting them speak for themselves. Be aware that KJ Natural Stone may claim they had no direct business with us since they worked through our contractor. Be careful with KJ Company. They changed pricing multiple times, avoided email communication, and tried to confuse me over the phone. After taking 60% deposit, they claimed extra measurements after the template and pressured me to sign a new contract--saying I'd lose my deposit if I didn't. I bought a fixer upper in the fall of 2021 and finally got to the countertop phase after my childhood bestie Shane Wyatt, Wyatt Woodworking & Cabinets finished the cabinets. (Which turned out immaculately by the way). Shane highly recommended KJ and I trust him implicitly so we began planning the look. Nanfer & Tingy Father & Daughter team) we're a pleasure to work with. Super responsive and I had a blast giving them a hard time kidding with them and busting their chops. Nanfer personally drove from Raleigh to the house in Lewisville, NC (2+hours mind you) to measure and make sure everything was set for pre-fab. A week or so later, their 3 awesome installers showed up and stayed until almost 8pm finishing it up and leaving everything cleaned than when they arrived to make sure I was 100% pleased with the way they turned out, and I absolutely am. I have never experienced better customer service than what we got at KJ Natural Stone. Tingy was amazing and super responsive from the start to the end of my project. While their customer service is out of this world, their granites/quartz and the selections are also amazing. For a very similar granite, I was quoted a price 150% higher than what I got at this place by a popular granite and countertop shop on Chapel Hill Road in east Cary (shall remain nameless). Don't waste your time at other stores because you will get your money's worth with these guys. I will be going back to Tingy and KJ Natural Stone for all my future granite needs for my bathroom and kitchen remodeling projects. read more

This is a family owned business. They have a lot of slabs onsite to view. A decorator friend referred me here with lots of pictures of slabs. Without seeing the names, Norvin told me the name of each slab and took me to see them. We received personalized attention. They have light staffing, so you may have to wait if they are working with someone else. But look around while you wait. Once it's your turn they are with you 100%. Tingy was as knowledgeable and friendly as Norvin. Price quotes were fantastic. Much better than other places I've been. Can't wait to get my new counter tops! read more

1) attitude of one of the office workers was very snippy. 2) the installers were doses to come around 3pm. At 4pm I called and was told they are on their way and would be there in an hour. They didn't show up until 6pm and were here until 8:30pm. The plumber showed up at 4 pm and had to leave because the countertops hadn't even arrived. I called the office and complained and was told "I'm taking off $175 the payment due today because the plumber won't arrive until tomorrow." I thought, since I was furious over the inconvenience, she meant that she was taking$175 off the bill. NOT. This morning when I started cleaning my appliances I noticed that the top of the door to my new Bosch dishwasher was scratched up in several areas. Their response was, "They didn't touch your dishwasher". Maybe not, but the countertop certainly made contact with it. I also had to purchase a new sink to avoid being left without one from Thursday until Monday, the day of installation. My sink was less than 2 years old. In order to make the template for the countertop they would have had to take out the sink and bring it to the shop. They didn't even tell me about that until I asked them how they were going to do it. They knew I intended to keep my own sink. One would think they would have contacted me about it and that I wouldn't have to ask. If I hadn't, they could not have installed the countertop on the scheduled day. All in all, I chose this business because they handle every part of the renovation and I didn't want to have to deal with separate contractors. Now I have their painters coming on Thursday and I'm dreading it. I don't want to have to deal with this company again. Unfortunately, you pay half upfront, so I can't use someone else. I used them because my best friend raved about them and they're are many 5 star reviews. I'm sorry that I can't be one of those. read more

Please save your time and money. I wanted to enjoy this company so much for a condo renovation project. Nanfer did an incredible job on my new Calacatta Extravaganza quartz counter tops, from start to finish, that process was seamless. My counters (including the stunning waterfall) are absolutely the focal point of the space. However, the rest of my experience with KJ Natural Stone was horrific. The paint team KJ Natural Stone utilized was grossly irresponsible with their access to my space, resulting in $934 worth of personal items missing, including a set of brand new patio furniture. The painters explained that on two separate occasions, they came into my space and the doors were wide open. None of this was communicated until I reached out inquiring about the missing items. I am not sure if the painters are personally responsible for the missing items, or if someone else came in. Either way, KJ Stone was responsible for securing my space at the conclusion of their work. They did not secure it, and did not communicate AT ALL until I inquired about the missing furniture. At no point did I accuse anyone at KJ Natural Stone of taking the items however, I did hold them accountable for not securing the space and for their inadequate communication. In addition to the irresponsible management of my personal space, KJ Natural Stone and the painters they employed performed an incomplete paint job. $3700 for a 1000 sqft space. Fixtures were painted around, a second coat was not applied, paint was splattered on toilets, and rather than removing wall sockets and light switch plates, they painted around them. At that point, I no longer had professional faith in this business, broke the contract, and asked for a refund for the money I paid for a portion of the project that had not begun yet. Labor and material costs were inflated to account for the money I had already paid.. I was told via email that lighting installation costs were $925 (for 4 flush mount lights and one pendant light), but the invoice I was sent reflected $1300. Finally, rather than reimbursing me for the cost of my furniture (as they stated they would in writing), they absorbed the cost of my furniture into the invoice, as if they were providing me a discount. I still do not have patio furniture. When picking up the tile that should have been delivered, yet ANOTHER invoice was put in front of me with purple handwritten "addendums" added to it. I refused to sign until I spoke with Nanfer, and I still (8/29) have not spoken with the owner, Nanfer. KJ Natural Stone can dramatically improve on their communication practices to customers by keeping them more informed of the status of their projects, they can hire more capable painters who pay greater attention to detail who respect personal space and property, and have a deeper understanding of how to be completely transparent, maintain more accurate invoices (I have 3 separate invoices, all with different numbers on them), and not take advantage of their customers after trust has been broken. The business practices are unethical and frankly disappointing. If you are in need of counters, Nanfer can be your guy. Please look elsewhere for the rest of your home renovation needs. I regret utilizing KJ Natural Stone for anything other than countertops. I would be out $6k instead of $18k for counters and an incomplete, mediocre paint job. I have fewer of my own personal items than when I contracted KJ Natural Stone and my peace of mind and trust in this company do not exist. read more

We got the most beautiful granite from KJ Natural Stone. Initially, I was not happy with the installation because one piece did not match the rest of the counters. When I called about it, the owner did not respond. I stopped payment on the check and then it was quickly taken care of. Their prices are much better than most of the other granite yards we had checked out! The staff was a bit hostile but later on into the job, they were respectful and answered my many questions. The installers were very professional and worked very efficiently together! I had shopped for granite many times over the last 3 or 4 years and in the end ... I am very happy with the job that KJ Natural did for us! The reason I gave it 3 stars is because the owner was somewhat unpleasant to work with. We have never been treated so poorly by a customer service person as we have been from Tingy, the showroom manager. Right from the start she took no time with us, running between us and other customers that came in after us. Any questions we had she took offense and reacted as if we were being critical. Things only went downhill from there. Tingy told us all our questions would be answered by the guy when he came to measure. He was here roughly five minutes and couldn't be bothered with anything I asked until I told him to stop because he was measuring things that we were not having done (which was probably why they increased our quote). They even cut an additional area we had not ordered that we didn't know about until installation day. Daniel, the head installer, was six hours late. Our sink is cast iron with porcelain and I was curious how they were going to measure it off for the faucet hole. He said with his "eye" pointing at it, and proceeded to do just that without taking a single measurement. When the plumbing was being installed we found out the hole was not drilled anywhere near the center of the sink hole, in fact it nearly missed it. Back to square one in having to talk to Tingy. The next day we got up at 6am because she told us someone would be out to look at it. At 8:30am she called and told us they weren't coming, that it was a plumbing problem, and I receive such verbal abuse it was unbelievable. Finally, after talking over me when I was trying to say something, she said she would send out the owner, which just happens to be her dad. After half the day was over I finally called our cabinet lady and asked her to step in. She talked directly to the owner whom she said apologized, and was very nice. He had a guy come out within hours. That guy took one look and said it needed to be drilled more. I'm finally done having to deal with this company, and love my quartz countertop. I'm just sorry that the owner's kids are ruining his business, as there are plenty other places to go to buy the same thing. I would highly recommend that if you're getting a kitchen remodel, go elsewhere if you want a pleasant experience. read more

They came to install my quartz, didn't finish the job and tried to charge me $175 to return to finish it. Then she tried to manipulate me by "waiving the fee" if I write them a review. So here is my review. Then, I needed them to come back because they didn't do the job properly and the stone needed to be cut again. She wanted me to pay $300. When I tried to discuss it, she became irate with me. When I asked to speak to the owner, she hung up on me. The daughter of the owner everyone. Aspiring to great things in life... Steer clear of this place. Because if you are unhappy, there is no recourse. They'll nickel and dime you at every opportunity. And when they don't do their job properly, they blame the customer. I have used this company to do bathroom countertops and considered them to my kitchen countertops. I appreciated the company manager Tingy for being patient with me while going through my bouts of health issues. She is nice and I love the products. I had her to do my guest bathroom floors. I'd already purchased the Porcelain tile, but I needed it installed. I am working on home projects as my health permits. The vanity top was delayed installation because of multiple surgeries. I'd paid in full for the countertop and installation, but because it had taken a while, it was Sun damaged, so she replaced it. My only issue and the reason for the lower score is that her flooring tile installer installed the floor unleveled. It is an obvious incline. I've called and went to the showroom, even written to her several times. She and the installer finally came out, and they told me the reason was because of the settlement of the house. I realize houses settle, but it is up to the installer to make the offsetting balanced. The floor wasn't unbalanced before. I live on a concrete slab, and it isn't cracked or damaged. The bath had Linoleum on it. I wanted it to match the Promary Suite. The installer was nice and even gave me his Biofreeze. I have no problem with him, but he just didn't level the floor. I asked would they fix it but was given the excuse of settling. Tingy said she'd send an email with the agreement to fix if it cracked. She agreed that if the tile cracked in 2 years, they'd fix it. This warranty was given only weeks after my calling and emailing about getting it in writing. She said the warranty didn't cover if I damaged the floor but only if it cracked from installation. I didn't like that response because I wouldn't ask nor expect her to fix any negligence on my part that cause damage. I do not like people to use the bath because I don't want anyone to trip. I've tripped several times because I can detect unleveled grounds just because of my balance issues. I recently reached out again, but she hasn't responded. I like the company and the installers, but Tingy hasn't done right by me. My first dealing with the company was with the parents whom I liked a lot. My issue is that I will have to get the floor fixed myself and the other companies want to rip the entire floor up. I only asked her to fix the uneven tiles that are in the front of the bath, but that was denied. She and the installer were speaking in Spanish. I asked what they were saying? She explained that he said if it cracks due to installation, he'd fix it, and she said she told him, "Yeah, you will." If it wasn't for this, I would gladly give her 5 stars like I did on another review after they'd done my counters. read more

We had our bathroom countertops done by this company and NEVER AGAIN! They installed granite that was oxidized in several spots and didn't give us a heads up prior to installation to let us know the slab we picked had that. We only saw it outside but it was blocked by other slabs so we really couldn't see it. Other granite companies would have given a heads up to come see for a final time and make sure the cut of slab was good to go for their customer but they didn't. Communication with the daughter was horrible, a back and forth game. The owner was of little help as well. Instead they blamed us for it and didn't offer any sort of resolution as other companies would. So I have to agree with the other reviews, steer away from Tingy and this company. It was a slow Saturday morning, the owner showed us some Options for stone, I found exactly what I wanted!! The owner asked if we were doing the install ourselves, we said yes. He offered to have his team do it for $540. We agreed. Unfortunately when we went to pay for the stone and installation, the owner was out of the country, and no one had ANY record of us being there, even though ALL the information was written down on our first visit. The owner truly is mad! Their templater never showed up at all for the first appointment so Nanfer Lopez the owner came out hours late and instead of a professional template he did a very hasty measuring job. I tried to politely point out some issues during the measure but he said he knows what he's doing so.... He was with the installers when they showed up hours late again for the install. Well the first top was wrong as I thought it would be and the sink cutouts in the master slab were cut very crooked. When I pointed it out he went into a very loud, incoherent, profanity laced tirade terrifying my wife. He even accused me of ogling his daughter inappropriately at the showroom on the day we gave them the deposit. Thank God my wife was with me the whole time and knows that isn't true. He finally loaded up all the granite, leaving our existing top in the middle of the driveway and left yelling and cursing the whole entire time saying he will see us in court before he would give us a refund. KJ Natural Stone will never be back on my property. I also strongly advise that you don't go to their showroom alone. Man where do I start? We kept seeing ads for KJ Stone, Great prices for granite counter tops. So we stopped by, finally after like a half hour of waiting got to talk to someone. I started asking about pricing on particular granite my wife liked, he didn't have any list, just sat there with a piece of paper looking like he was "Really" thinking hard. Writing down prices I was thinking man this is way more expensive than their ads. So I asked for the level of the granite we were interested in and the addresses of his distributors, he responded with "level 4". We wen't on site with the distributors, checked out the granite we liked, and found one that was a "Level 1" that we liked. When I went back I asked him what the cost per square foot was for the "Level 1" we liked from the distributor, he responded with the price, and it was the exact same price as the "level 4" Granite we had asked about earlier. When I asked him for a complete estimate, it took nearly an hour, and told me multiple times "Im gonna give you a great deal". I felt like I was getting swindled by a used car salesman. When my wife and I left I told her flat out that I didn't trust them, they were trying to hoodwink us, and we should check out some other fabricators in the area. We stopped by Stone City in Raleigh, as soon as we asked about Price, He handed us a binder with all of their prices listed for every slab of stone they had. SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper. The SAME EXACT Stone we were priced at KJ Stone for nearly 10 dollars cheaper per Sq Foot at Stone City. He gave me a full estimate, not written on a piece of paper, actually typed out, and signed by him. Anyways long story short, I dropped my deposit that day, got scheduled, did the install and couldn't be happier. read more

We had them install our kitchen countertops. My husband had issues with them because he made sure they knew about his osmosis system, but they still messed it up. He had to make a report to BBB to get any response. At that point, they promised to do what they can to make it up to him. Fast forward a few years, we are selling the house and the inspection report came back that their plumber installed an accordion pipe under the sink which is not allowed because food can gather in the accordion creases. Yuck! I sent in a request for them to come fix it. Crickets. So now I will have to pay a plumber to fix their mistake. As much as I like to cut people a break, it would just be hard to recommend these folks. read more

Dishonest pricing. The owner was insulting when I started asking questions about how the pricing was calculated. I had added more counters to the order and the owner tried to hide extra costs in the revised quote. Here is how it occurred. I showed up to make a purchase of the level 1 granite for my kitchen that I selected the week before and had already been provided a detailed quote by email. The owner was insistent with offering me a level 3 granite for the SAME PRICE as the granite that I had already selected and came to purchase. He tried to hide the higher price by refusing to provide a cost breakdown for the added counters. When I asked for detailed pricing he became insulting. The next day I was able to obtain a detailed quote by email for the added counters, and he was significantly over-charging for the additional counters. read more

My cabinet man recommended K&J Natural stone to us. Had the owner over for approx. 45 mins and gave an estimate on kitchen, 1/2 bath and master bedroom vanity counter top. He appeared pleasant and courteous. He also seemed in a little hurry, but you have to be quick because that is what he does all day every day. Once I had the floor in I gave them an estimate on when the cabinets would be in. He came out as planned and counter tops were done. The island cabinet had a problem and the counter top could not be put on that same day. They came out later and put the island counter top on and no problems. We had a couple of tiny holes in the counter top about 1/16 to 1/8 inch in size. Called them out to look at it and repaired it the same day. I have read some reviews on here after my work was completed. And I can only say that you can not please everyone all the time and there will be personality conflicts. I can see where Nanfer could be an unreasonable man and combatant. What I am saying is that he treated me right and we were happy with his work. read more

We just had granite countertops installed in our kitchen and bathroom and they are GORGEOUS! My only complaint is that we had hand drawn a wide, sweeping curve for the island, which they changed to a standard, quarter circle curve. This could have been due to a language misunderstanding, or they may have decided to do it because it was easier for them. Other than that, they would have received 5 stars! Someone else gave them a poor review citing complaints about their pricing system. This seems to be industry wide, which doesn't make it right, but should not penalize one company. Granite seems to come in several price levels, and within each level there is even more pricing variation, depending on the style and slab you select. At any rate, ours was beautifully cut, nicely installed, and the end result is a stunner. Eric and Christian did a fantastic job making fine cuts and fitting in a difficult, two level, corner backsplash. We especially enjoyed going over to their granite yard and helping place the template on the stone - so we could control (within reason) where the interesting lines in the stone fell. I would definitely use this company again, but I would be very clear if I wanted a custom cut. read more

This company worked great for us, and talk about speedy turn around! The owner / dad came out ON CHRISTMAS EVE to take dimensions, and he gave me a firm price that didn't change after completion. We even trusted them enough to let them come make a stencil while we were out of the house! The job that he billed me for which was going to require six hours ended up being rushed in two hours. I;m telling everyone I know not to do business with this firm. This is my first negative review posting on any platform . KJ Stone left a mess at our new home. Dust n debris was everywhere and we needed to have a cleaning crew come in. It took one day just to clean up their dust. ( they state they will clean, then out the other side they say dust , well it's in your contract!) our home was move in ready until these clowns showed up. When it came time to layout our template , they said the stone we ordered was missing. We had to select a product we still don't like because we were on a schedule. Wished I had read the bad reviews on BBB and Angie's List would have never called them. Really bad way of talking to customers, gave estimate asked for our credit card they did not list in their estimate the cost of the tile....... felt like we were being hustled! This company has good employees that are left to repair the damage done by the owner Nanfer in regards to customer service. At the beginning everything was nice and Nanfer was on his best behavior. Once the install was complete, and a question came up because a stand alone piece by the refrigerator was not installed right, Nanfer came unhinged. My wife was asking him questions and he became nasty and eventually told her she was on her own and hung up on her. I called him and he told me that my wife was not understanding what he was trying to explain and that it appeared she became upset. I tried to explain the situation and he became unraveled because I was asking questions so that I could understand what he was saying. He finally blurred out that he would recut the piece and that I was on my own after that and he hung up on me as well. I immediately called back and Morvin answered and let me know Nanfer was not available. I told him about our conversation and how inappropriate Nanfer's behavior was. Long story short, the person that was at my house installing the backsplash saved the day and took car of the situation. The employees appear to be good people and that is why I gave this rating a 3, but Nanfer deserves a 0. My wife and I ran into them at the Raleigh home show and they have a really nice selection of granite and other stones. We began our bathroom remodel and decided to stop by their Hope Rd location. The initial meeting was all about how we could get a cheap price on granite remnants so we began planning the dimensions, sinks and edging. We were told to call back when we had the bathroom new cabinets installed and ready for the granite. Considering the vanity was 110 inches, we were reassured it would not be a problem to get brown fantasy polished granite remnants. The story changed once I arrived to start the process. They did not have a 110" by 26" remnant slab, other than leather style, and was told a whole piece would be $48 a sq foot instead of the discussed price of $20.95 on two occasions. I requested a formal quote and asked for confirmation of the original price. He promised I would see the quote in a few hours, which did not happen. Unfortunately, for a family owned business that has been operating in NC since 1999, I am surprised they have lasted this long with poor business ethics. The representative we were interfacing is apparently not trained well on the quoting process or customer commitment process and delivered nothing but "lip service." It may have been a different story had it been another rep. Unfortunately, our experience was a bad one and would not recommend them to any other friend or person. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! Firstly, the person in charge was rude and condescending. When we wanted several estimates so as to be able to compare, we were told "I'll give you two". They were unresponsive until our contractor stepped in, and we did finally receive the allotted "two" estimates. We chose one four to five weeks before we needed to have it installed. We were told it takes 7 days to receive. Deposit was made THIRTY DAYS prior. Four days before it was scheduled to be installed, we had our contractor call to see what time they would be arriving, and were told that the material was not there. They took no responsibility claiming the supplier did not send it. If we had not called, we would not have been informed at all. When we asked simply to see paperwork showing that it had indeed been ordered on time, they flatly refused. This was proof positive that they did not order it when they should have. Very shoddy!! We would have never ordered from them in the first place because of their rudeness and haughty attitude, but stayed with them because our contractor wanted us to. We so wish that we had insisted on finding another fabricator. We were offered no apology or concession of any kind for the error. Needless to say, our contractor is no longer using them for his work. Stay FAR FAR AWAY from KJ!!! read more
