I always appreciate employees making conversation, but bringing up religion and explaining the all sinners go to hell unless you repent wasn't the conversation I was looking to have in front of my girlfriend when we came to get ice cream. I engaged in the conversation with Eli, but it was very uncomfortable to be honest. I'm sure he meant well, but there's a time and place for everything. Maybe the job isn't the best setting to have that conversation, that's all I'll say because I want to be nice. Went in yesterday evening about 7:30 to treat my daughter to a scoop of ice cream, there were two workers, one young lady and a man. Young lady takes my order while her guy coworker is helping another man, after the man costumer checks out and leaves now I'm paying for my order.. The guy worker comes to the young lady checking me out and starts talking crap about the man costumer that he just finished helping LIKE I WASN'T EVEN THERE!! This worker didn't even wait 1minute. I'm not the type to leave a negative review or put anyone's job at rick but this was wrong, and extremely unprofessional. I love the amaretto ice cream marble slab has. It's the only place who has it in Texas I've found. So they get 4 stars for that. This place is clean and the staff is friendly and generous with the helpings. My mom was being super picky - nice about it- but picky. The guy played with her and gave her exactly what she wanted. The last 2 times we've had cookies from this location, they tasted like Fabuloso, which is the cleaner they obviously use to clean the place. You can smell it as soon as you walk in. They do not enforce masks either. I watched them serve one guy with no problem, who was with 2 other people wearing their masks just fine. The guy, who I believe is the manager, only wears a face shield. I don't understand that at all. He is still breathing on everything, including his coworkers. There was also a line of people that night, which was a little nerve-wracking considering it's a small space and masks are not enforced. And lastly, their tables are NOT socially distanced. If anything it looked like they may have added another table or two, which I'm sure was due to them expanding to sell cookies. They really should remove them for now so people can stand comfortably and safely. I was literally stuck standing between a table and a refrigerator before finally waiting outside. I stated in another review that I love MArble Slab ice cream. I came to this location this summer and really enjoyed myself. The employee was really silly and had us laughing the whole time. I freaking hate this place. Worst ice cream parlor I have EVER gone to. I'm not one to give just one star, but I left extremely pissed off at the service and quality of the ice cream that I got. My boyfriend and I came here expecting to enjoy a gourmet banana split. The worker struggled to scoop our ice cream off, FAILED (took way too long) to cut a freaking banana and assemble it on the plate, and gave us WAY too much whipped cream. By the time I paid for it and got to my table, my ice cream + cream had become a soup in the bowl. I was sooooooooo pissed. I could've gone to Sonic and gotten a better banana split for a cheaper price. Heck, I could've gone to Kroger and made a better one for a better price. Love Marble Slab, but definitely not this location! The Mexican lady has a piss poor attitude! Watched her bend the back counter as she was trying to get herself to sit on it (pretty sure that's a health violation), constantly on her phone, and her personal hygiene was just NASTY! So glad the guy associate helped take care of my order. Even though he was trying too much, at least he knew bout customer service. Surprised owners and or managers knowingly keep her there with that type of attitude. My family has been using this location for years and years for every occasion. We've never had an issue. Today I called and ordered a cake for my mothers birthday. They tell me it's going to take about 4 hours. No big deal. We got Swiss and Reese's. Unfortunately the only Reese's we got were on the top. Maybe 2 total cut up into small pieces. So I call back and let the guy know. I wanted to give them a chance to rectify the situation since we've always received great service. The guy says he will call his boss and call me back. He calls back ten minutes later and says his boss made the cake and put 6 whole Reese's inside. They normally only put 4 so they can't do anything for me. I just paid $40 for chocolate ice cream about the size of a gallon of blue bell. With no candy inside. We will not be ordering from marble slab. After being loyal customers for years we expected to be treated a little better the first time we experienced a problem. Why would anybody go to this place? Gummy, overly sweet ice cream and, in the summer, half melted before you even get a bite. The mix in concept is a one time gimmick, and not enough to generate a return trip for me. My main problem with this place is that on their menu board, they advertise that they have a child's cup or cone. However, when you order the child's cup or cone, they tell you that the smallest size they offer is a medium. I can't even eat a medium sized cup and you expect my five year old to eat one? No, you don't. You just want the up charge money. Nearly $12 for two cups of average ice cream. They also advertise on their menu board that they have a "small" size, but they don't. And they really skimp on the mix-ins. It's been this way over a year. They need to change their menu board. I have also ordered an ice cream cake from this place and when I arrived to pick it up, they told me to pick a cake from the case and they would write something on it. At that point I had no options because I needed the cake and SURPRISE - they didn't even have the flavor I ordered in stock. Do yourself a favor, go across the street to Menchies. Less calories, less money, and less aggravation. read more
