Pretty standard ice cream joint My first impression of this place was that it was a little hard to find, as I didn't realize that it would be connected to Great American Cookie. Other than that, the ice cream is what you can expect from any other ice cream place: cold, creamy, and delicious. They do have a variety of flavors that they let you sample before purchasing. I personally got the chocolate birthday cake flavor, which tasted more like milk chocolate than anything else. My cone came out to be around ~5$, and I felt that I could have gotten the same ice cream at another place for less. They do have mix-ins and speciality cones at this location, which maybe would have made the experience more worthwhile, however if you're just looking for plain ice cream this place is just OK. read more

Despite the reviews I tried this place as Jeni's down the block was packed. I was served relatively quickly and out the store. I had the sweet cream and pistachio with fix ins. 1st time trying this store & the cones are huge. I had a really hard time finishing. I was full halfway. I got chocolate 2 the extreme which was really good. It comes with m&ms & chocolate sprinkles. We drove past it twice, the sign is pretty small but it's a Marble Slab/America's Greatest Cookies, next to potbelly's. I've been to Marble Slab plenty of times so I kind of had an idea of what I wanted. I kept it simple and asked for sweet cream ice cream with Oreos. My fiancé got a chocolate ice cream with Oreos, butterfingers, and fruit loops needless to say, I wasn't going to ask for a taste of his ice cream! Once we got in the car, I took a spoonful of my ice cream and it tasted a little off. I took a couple more spoonfuls until I asked my fiancé to taste it. He said it tasted a little sour which is what I got out of it. This sweet cream ice cream was spoiled more than likely. I was disappointed and so was my belly. My order is a sweet cream or birthday cake (depending on my mood) ice cream shake, hand chop brownie pieces and sprinkle over the shake, then drizzle caramel sauce over the drink.... does that sound like it's too complex or impossible to create? The lady behind the counter (I believe of Asian decent) acted as if I asked her to drive to timbukto without giving her gas money! She then proceeded to argue with me on how she cannot make that and how that was against store policy! I even offered to PAY MORE FOR THE DARN DRINK!!! This location was PACKED when I went, I mean the line was pretty much out the door...good thing they were quick with the service! The only thing that I WISH they had was seating outside, because the seating inside was very limited. You can't go wrong with ice cream, and Marble Slab is a CLASSIC! I got my ice cream (Cheesecake and Marshmallows) when I bit into the marshmallows they were hard and crunched. each time it crunched I cringed in fear it was my tooth chipping. I know for a fact that this is not how marshmallows are suppose to sound even with the ice creaming freezing it. I've been getting this combination since I was a kid and have never had this issue. Actual ingredients that are suppose to be crunchy are not that loud. My friend could hear it loud and clear. I might as well have been eating Lego's. I am vacationing in Dallas and had a taste for ice cream. This was the third place we tried because the first two were closed. It has a wide variety of flavors and you can taste anything you like before committing. I've never seen so many waffle cones dipped in an assortment of things. It was almost hard to choose. I got two scoops, one chocolate and one coffee and placed them inside a waffle bowl. You can mix in any amount of toppings which I loved. Some places like to charge per topping but here you can add whatever you like. I also purchased cookies for later which I haven't tried yet. The ice cream was delicious and the server was very nice. The old location across the street closed late last year (due to unknown reasons), but I was stoked to see that they reopened at a new location less than a block away! My excitement slowly turned to disappointment when I tried to redeem my "frequent ice cream eater" card (buy 5 cones, get the 6th free I think). I had originally received the card from the old location across the street so I figured it would still be good at the new one. I had to convince the dude that I was legit and not trying to steal ice cream. After a few minutes, he gave in -- I mean, c'mon. It costs them like 34 cents for a single cone. My card allowed me only one mix-in; I chose KitKat and was very disappointed. Maybe the economy is forcing them to be stingy but I barely got any of that chocolatey wafery goodness. The only thing that saved my cone was the excellent flavor of the ice cream. So in my last dozen or so visits here, I haven't encountered them closing early like I did previously. I'm still wary about it if I'm stopping by near to close, but it hasn't been an issue. Parking has been a bummer lately because of Taco Diner opening up, but if you time your visit right, you can get there after Potbelly has closed, but before everyone has descended upon Taco Diner and park in one of Potbelly's spots. I was disappointed with their ice cream cake. I was told it would have oreos throughout and it did not. It was just a big block of sweet cream ice cream (which tastes lovely), but the cake on bottom was terrible and there were barely any oreos on top. I should have just bought a 1/2 gallon of vanilla blue bell and called it a day. For the price you pay, would stay away from their ice cream cakes. I am only giving them a 3* due to the fact that I eat ice cream here all the time and it is my favorite spot, but the cake experience is terrible. You're not getting the amount of ice cream you pay for nor are the dipped bowls or cones the right size with the coating you think it is. The mix-ins are stale also. I favor a white chocolate dipped waffle cone bowl which comes with the regular size ice cream serving. My and my husband's bowls were HALF the depth of a company store's bowl size and NO WAY it accommodated the full serving I paid for because it was too shallow. I don't know what they were dipped in because white chocolate is not beige! It had an unidentifiable flavor...did they just dip it in candle wax or what? I have no idea how this place has any 4 and 5 star reviews. The bathrooms were both very dirty. There were signs on them that said "This is your bathroom, please keep it clean," so I'm guessing they feel absolved of this responsibility. There is mold running along the bottom of the walls, as though there's been flooding or leaks. The one employee there finished a fairly long conversation on her cell phone while I waited, which wouldn't have been that annoying except she neither acknowledge that I was there nor apologized.
