Called them up and showed them photos. At first they were reluctant to believe me, and I had to go to their shop. I showed them the photos of the quartz from the distributor's own website (and their customer's photos), and they tried to convince me that the brown worm like things were normal. I almost begged them to be fair. Then they pulled out the brochure they had and finally believed me bc the delivered stone looked nothing like the physical displays, online photos, or the brochure. Turns out the distributor had outdated displays and the newer version of this quartz was totally different. You know what? I wasn't mad. I actually felt bad bc I don't like to be of trouble to others even though it wasn't my fault. But they immediately blamed the distributor saying they made the mistake and that they're a small company so they can't check every slab. They're just the fabricators. So they told me to go to the distributor the next day. They said they'd called them to have the 3 new slabs ready for me. So I went. Did not have it ready and refused to show me all three. Told me to call G&M. So I did. I got caught in the middle. Told me they'll send photos of the other two from same lot. Ok sure. A couple days later they called me and told me to go in their office to physical okay the 3 slabs. Won't send photos. Now I was getting annoyed. I seriously devoted a lot of time to doing their bidding. My job matters too ok? I already went and they never apologized for wasting my time by not having it ready. Not only that, when I went again - they didn't have the slabs ready and get this - got mad when I asked to see all 3 slabs. They seemed so annoyed. They wanted me to peek at it sideways while it was stuck between two other slabs. Seriously? I'm doing what they asked me to do. I took extra time from my work day to verify the slabs. Shouldn't I be the one that's annoyed? Later on, they got annoyed bc I asked for final measurements. Got yelled at. Made a show of telling me how they use templates and would need so much work to tally that up. Told me to measure it myself. Told me that if every customer was like me, blah blah blah. I just left. It was so rude. Spoke to owner. He apologized but didn't take responsibility. Made excuses. Said they were understaffed and stressed. Said his mom in law was in the hospital. Said he would send me measurements that day. I said don't worry just send it within a week. I felt terrible for him. Nothing gets sent even a week later. But I get a call the day before install that they need to remeasure that day. Ok fine I change my work schedule to be home. The next morning I called to make sure they leave a wide enough opening for my stove bc they didn't during the first install, and the owner said his mom in law passed. Well that's terrible. They can't come that day. Told me to call the office for a reschedule and they wouldn't know when. Maybe tomorrow. Ok I'm fine with that. So I email the office. No response. Later that day my mom called. She happened to be at the home and apparently they showed up to install. I rush home from work. This is not professional behavior at all. I'm at their beck and call. Wait, they didn't even call me. Did they forget that I was their customer? Not their slave? It was going fine until Jose one of the guys starts giving me attitude. All I asked was that they control the dust bc they started cutting the quartz indoors. Stone dust everywhere like a white cloud. I had kids in the home breathing this in. Beforehand they told me they'd cut only a faucet hole in the garage but here they were trimming a lot more than the faucet in the house. But the thing is I would've been understanding if they just tried to control it better. Instead Jose gave me so much attitude and told me to call the office and the owner. I did both and no one picked up. He bluffed saying they'd leave and come back next day if they had to cut literally just outside. Finally another guy there told Jose to shut up and do the work. He was nicer and said he'd vacuum it up. I opened the doors. It was still a mess but they gave me no choice. Jose said the owner threatened to leave too. Later on he admitted it was the owners son. Btw he dented two parts of my cabinets and there was glue all over my brand new hardwood floors. The other guys were fine. So if you want to be dragged around by people who have no respect for your time, home, or family - choose these guys. They kept explaining how terrible things were going for them but never really considered what it's like for me, their customer. Created so much stress for me. So many excuses. Normally I tip extra but I only gave them waters this time. Treating people well doesn't matter sometimes. They just take advantage of your kindness.

As soon as they received my inquiry, they extended an invite to visit their location and shop thru available remnants. When I arrived, I was personally escorted around the premises and shown a variety of options (multiple stone types and color variations.) I grew up the granddaughter of a Stone Mason; I know quality work, and I know when a company is taking shortcuts. I specifically chose my stone because I was told it would NOT require a seam. It became clear they simply didn't want to deal with the labor-intensive task of maneuvering a large slab into place--a job that might have required a minor wall repair but would have resulted in the superior finish I paid for. I only begrudgingly agreed to a seam because they promised it would be executed perfectly. My original fears were justified: it was a disaster. The issues: * Poor Craftsmanship: The seam is recessed and uneven. It is a functional defect that collects debris and requires constant scrubbing. * Lack of Effort: While I understand vein matching is difficult, there was clearly no attempt at a professional transition here. It stands out like a sore eye. * Dismissive Management: After a failed "repair" (just smeared epoxy), the stone manager told me "nothing more can be done." I needed a bathroom countertop cut to fit a sink that my mom (who passed away in 2018) had purchased years ago in Mexico. It was a unique piece and I couldn't use anything standard. We visited the shop and were able to look at the various slabs out back. Fine. We got adequate help and were left alone to look, which I appreciated. I made a second trip to confirm the choice and I thought we were good to go. We were not in a rush to get the job done, so there was no urgency. However, we started the process in late July and the countertop wasn't installed until the week before Thanksgiving. Our contractor asked Tom several times if the job was too small for them and if they just didn't have time to do it. No, we were assured, they would do it, no problem. In October, I reached out to see if anyone could tell me what was happening with the job. The person who had helped us, Pawel, just never responded. His partner, Tom, told me he couldn't help me because he didn't know anything about the job or the sink and that Pawel was on vacation. When I asked him if he meant he didn't know where the sink was, he didn't respond. I cannot explain the panic that I experienced - how would I tell my dad that I had effectively lost my mom's sink? I had to have our contractor call the company and get things sorted, which was ridiculous - his part of the job was done. Pawel finally got involved again, but that became a chain of unanswered text messages and unmet deadlines. If I would asked when the install would happen, I'd be told "Wednesday/Thursday" and nothing more. WTF does that mean? This week? Next week? Next month? Then he couldn't remember which slab we had chosen. Then the MORNING of the install, he called and said they couldn't cut the granite the way we had wanted. Keep in mind that at this point, they'd had the sink for almost FOUR months. He had apparently done nothing to prep for the job? Oh, but don't worry, he called back 20 minutes later to say he had figured it out. Needless to say, we were not filled with confidence. The install time came and you'll never guess what happened? They cancelled. The reason isn't relevant because we didn't believe it - they had not followed through on anything prior to that point, so we had no reason to trust that they were telling the truth. Finally, they came and some guy from the company installed the sink. Does the sink look nice? Yep, it sure does. Is the granite lovely? Yep, it is. Would I ever suggest anyone to use this company? Nope, I sure wouldn't, unless I genuinely disliked that person. In keeping with their practices, I didn't get an invoice until February. I was hoping, MAYBE, that considering all the nonsense we went through, we might have a discount extended to us or something. Nope, it was for the full quoted price. And I paid it, and that's fine - the job was completed. But here's the review and they earned every word.

Dejan was the first person to respond (7 minutes after I sent the initial message - talk about responsive!!!) I can confidently say that DK Stone's prices are the best in the market after comparing them amongst the other 4 competitors. The best part is that everyone else had told me that I would need to buy at least 2 slabs for the dimensions of our countertop. I asked Dejan how many slabs we would need and he said ONE SLAB for both island countertop and stovetop countertop!! He was able to calculate a configuration that would get everything done with minimal waste - this was huge in terms of cost. He had his guys come out to measure 5 days later and the counter tops were installed a couple of weeks after that. Everything was perfect, they were so efficient. Okay so now you have an idea of their work but what about service? Someone had accidentally taken our garbage disposal ring when they were cleaning up after the job so we couldn't get the disposal installed - we reached out to Dejan and he had someone drop it off.
