A group of us had our kids attend the baseball and softball camps they offered. Softball was cheaper ($60/day) and ran for 4 hours. It seemed to be more organized than Baseball camp. The coaches had the girls on a good pace with running drills. Baseball camp was 4.5 hours, cost more ($80/day) and did less. There was more down time than expected. Between snack time and lunch time, the kids were either sitting around, goofing off, or playing dodgeball. I didn't really observe much baseball exercises. When I did see some hitting exercises, the coaches never critiqued or complimented any child at bat. With pitching, the coach did give some advice, though. I'm not sure if this is how their camps usually run, but we won't be returning. Some positives about this place? It's indoors and there's a makeshift waiting area. The coaches are nice and very chill. I'm sure this place is great. I read some of the reviews. Sadly, we didn't have the same experience. read more

It's been 3 years and 3 months since I first met Coach Buck. If you see this video... fast forward to 1:00:20. My son wasn't 7, he was actually 6 turning 7 at the end of April (near the cutoff for PONY baseball - MPK). My son wasn't in TCNLL and MPK PONY baseball bc of something that happened at TCNLL (but don't want to air out my opinions of TCNLL) that we left little league and went to PONY baseball. But it was too hard for my son at the time as he attended Longden Elementary and he really missed TCNLL as this was the ONLY baseball stomping ground he has known...and MPK was new for him. Ok. This isn't about which is better - little league or PONY baseball. It's about Marathon Batting Cages and Coach Buck. So as you can heard from 1:00:20, really my recommendations to the parents (via word of mouth and my IG account stories) increased Coach Buck's private lessons from his backyard). It was Spring 2023, bc it was Steven Kwan (no known relation, but a possibility), it was Steven Kwan's 2nd season in the MLB. Steven Kwan's MLB debut was when my son, Emerson started to take baseball seriously!!! Gen Alpha and social media. Please follow his IG account - EmersonQ_27 Anyway, former MLB outfielders, Torii Hunter and Jacques Jones also follow Emerson's IG. I signed Emerson up for a youth camp and all 4 former MLB players see potential in Emerson. They asked him who taught his form, he said Coach Buck! They told him to continue to get lessons from Coach Buck! The other 2 former MLB players were Kenny Lofton and Royce Clayton. So if 4 former MLB said that...it means Coach Buck is worth all the money. Yes! Coach Buck did push him, but Emerson needs a coach that pushes him!!! But, Emerson started getting lessons from Coach Jr, who later I found out from Coach Buck was draft by the Houston Astros. Emerson LOVES seeing Coach Jr ever since the first lesson!!! So two great coaches for private lessons!!! HIGHLY recommended! Com'on if 4 former MLB players told Emerson to continue to receive lessons from Coach Buck, that SAYS A LOT!!! Oh I almost forgot to add, after Emerson's first season in PONY baseball at MPK, he loved his teammates and coaches, but they were moving up to 10U the following season, so fall ball, they would be 10U. I was concerned given his age if he would thrive at 10U, but Coach Buck calmed my nervous and told me that he thinks Emerson would be fine at 10U and if he wasn't, I could always put him back at Emerson's age level (8U) in the spring, which I did. But I didn't put him back in 8U in the spring bc he didn't do well. It was bc over at MPK, each division, the later the practices and games. So we would get home at 10PM on school nights. Also, Coach Buck heard Emerson ask about travel ball. I was thinking he was too young at 8U and wait til 9U. But Coach Buck thought he was ready for travel ball and referred him to the Assaults Squad, which Emerson thrived as a catcher and learned to be a better catcher! Currently Emerson is playing up a division (12U) at MPK PONY and he's one of the catchers for his PONY team and doing well. So Coach Buck also knows when kids are ready... he knows talent!!! Emerson has made All-Stars every season for his PONY baseball career. read more

We love Marathon! It's a great facility that's run by the most knowledgeable and nicest coaches (who are great with kids as well). I've been taking my 7 year old son for lessons a few months now and he's always so excited to go and has learned SO much. Although there are a million videos out there, nothing will ever beat an actual coaching session - they will spot and help you work on things you would never otherwise think about. Marathon is also a great value - both for lessons and for batting cage rentals. Highly recommend everyone support this business! read more

Seriously one of the best environments for wanting to let off a little steam. I personally get my son batting lessons from Coach Buck. He is truly a blessing to these kids and communities need more people like him. He makes my son feel comfortable and is teaching him to stay focused in the game. If I could score this place lower I would! the main guy BUCK is so rude and unprofessional! He yelled at my son , who didn't know he couldn't wear his cleats, and told him something In a rude way! We booked this place for a certain time , he was using the cage we booked and came back and said he would refund our money cause he's using that cage. Then to top it off they said our money would be refunded in 30+ days, but they were so quick to take my money. Booked a one on one batting/pitching training lesson with coach Junior for our son and were very happy. He was attentive, patient, and uplifting. Our 8 year old got a lot out of just one session and we look forward to continued progress in training. He knows how to work with kids to get them to focus and to encourage them to step out of their comfort zone to try new methods. Our child left feeling more confident and excited to practice what he was taught at home. The facility is clean, staff are friendly, and a very good vibe. There's a large seating area and also have snacks for sale! So happy I came across this place..we travel from Glendale to get here & wouldn't make that drive for just any reason - the experience and energy we got from just our first visit alone will definitely have us coming back & encouraging friends/family to check it out also. Let me start off by saying that before Coach Buck my son wanted to quit baseball, after a disappointing spring season earlier this year with a lot of strike outs he was not happy with playing, he complained before every game, always asked if he had to go and I convinced him to give it another go I told him let him let me find you private lessons, luckily coach Buck and my son started working a few weeks before his fall season began and gosh I am so impressed by this new found sense of confidence I see in my son now this is definitely his breakthrough season, he wants to play, he wants to practice and I have to give coach the credit he deserves because without him my son probably would've quit a sport I always hoped he learned to love and he's on his way! As for the facility it is clean all the time, clean restrooms, comfy couch for us parents to relax on after a long day of work, and my favorite part is that there's always great tunes going! Saw my sons previous little league teammate get lessons from Coach Buck starting end of 2022. My son was moving up and I was concerned with kids pitching to him. We started with the first lesson in February 2023. On the first lesson he was super nervous and things didn't go as well as I hoped but I wanted to keep trying. Much crying involved. Coach Buck immediately understood how to ease him into this and worked his magic. At the time of this review, we are almost done with month 4 of weekly lessons and he loves it. Not only does he ask about going to his lessons, watching videos from February until now, the progression of baseball for my son could not be learned by me or even with his LL teams. He may not be a natural athlete and has to train and work harder than other kids his age and Coach Buck at Marathon Batting Cages has been one of the best things for his skills, attitude and evolution of becoming a young adult. The main season of baseball is over but I am keeping his weekly lessons all year round as I think going to MBC does more than just teach baseball to my kid. Can't wait to see how MBC evolves and grows with more opportunities for the kids to become masters of the diamond. read more
