It was on the weekend and we had a guest, so we wanted to get the situation resolved quickly. We were fortunate though because even with the pictures we sent David, he still wanted to come out to see in person what was going on with the leak. The same day we called, he came out. They didn't charge us like it was an emergency like companies like roto-rooter would. They ended up replacing a copper sewer pipe (our house is from the 60s) running from the upstairs bathroom down to the kitchen pantry. It only took them two days for the repairs and others have stated the estimates and final cost were very reasonable. We hope to use DDL again in the future.

I was particularly impressed by their attention to detail and their valuable advice based on years of experience. I received clear and thorough cost estimates that helped me stay on budget. Communication regarding any immediate issues was always directly with the contractor or project manager never through office staff. It was prompt and by text or phone call, so nothing got lost in emails. I had very small condo remodeled but I never felt that I was being overlooked for a larger project. We had periodic onsite meetings to make sure the work was progressing smoothly, discuss any changes and confirm timelines. They always followed up on every stage that had been completed to make sure I was satisfied. I am very, very pleased with the results.

Mario reviewed the work and offered a very competitive bid that also met our timeline. Mario and his crew completely renovated our kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and basement, while also refinishing the floors, replacing doors, and painting throughout the house. Every deadline was met and the crew worked around our needs as we moved into the house. The work was done very professionally, and Mario helped us find designers and suppliers to complete the work. Unfortunately there isnt much more work we need done! But we will definitely use Mardeck's in the future, and highly recommend Mario

While it took a while for the parts to arrive, they provided excellent updates and we are happy with the process and quality of final product. Carolina was particularly patient at the beginning in laying out all our options and providing price comparisons so we could find the most affordable solution. Christian and Mario diligently braved the coldest weather of the year and went the extra mile to ensure our unique requests were met. Mardeck's was the most reasonable of the four estimates we got. Random strangers have knocked on our door to ask who did the work. Mardeck's clearly has the customer's interests at heart; it's refreshing to work with honest professionals who are great at communication with an eye for detail.

We also wanted to get a new countertop, which they do not do, but Luis referred us to someone else who was equally as responsive and efficient. The whole project took under one month from getting a quote to finishing the job. We were very pleased with the process! One thing to note is that while the quote is indeed on the lower end of what is out there, the work might not be considered absolute perfection. (e.g. paint might be a touch uneven in some areas; some difficult corners of kitchen have a bit of a rougher cut on the tile but still patched with grout) For me though, it was not an issue because I do still think the job was worth 5 stars for the value. Just know what you are paying for!

After five business days, I reached out to Ashley, their coordinator. Despite multiple messages sent to both her direct number and the number they were actively using to communicate with me, I received absolutely no response. I was ignored and left hanging for nearly three weeks. Only after that did they finally respond, stating they were too busy with other projects to take mine on. This raises an obvious question: if they were never interested, why schedule the estimate at all? This behavior shows a complete lack of professionalism, communication, and basic respect for a customer's time. Consider this a warning: expect poor communication, broken commitments, and wasted time if you choose to engage with this company. It appears they prioritize only high-margin jobs and silently drop others without the courtesy of a timely or honest response. That is not how a legitimate, customer-focused business operates.

It was a 3-1/2 month project, start to finish, and Heartland made every step an easy one. From the design process with Nick Clapes and Molly Holland, who both had wonderful and tasteful ideas that we just loved, to the demolition and new construction with our great project manager, Marty Fletcher (who took over seamlessly when our original PM left Heartland). All in all, it was a huge project, but every little bump in the road was handled quickly and efficiently (and there will always be bumps in the road!). Communication throughout the project was also excellent. We always knew exactly where we were at and kept informed about everything. And I'd be remiss if I didn't thank everyone who worked on our project: Carpenters - Hugo, Yerko, Nestor, Ady, and Carlos Electricians - Rudy and his crew Plumber - Gerson and his crew Drywall and Painters - Sual and his crew Tile - David Flooring - Alex and his crew You all were so helpful, so professional, and so friendly (especially dealing with our overly-friendly dog, Chiara!), and we are so appreciative of all of your hard work on our behalf! I selected Heartland for this project because I found them listed as a local Best Pick (http://bestpickreports.com/), which is a fantastic resource for finding fully vetted and insured professsionals, and then hired them for a smaller initial project (replacing a staircase). They did a fabulous job on that, so I was happy to hire them again. In conclusion, if you are looking for a fantastic, reputable company to do any home remodeling, you cannot go wrong with Heartland Design & Remodeling. We are still in the process of unpacking and settling back into the house, so I won't post any pictures yet. But trust me, it's gorgeous!
