They were soooo honest and told me it wasn't that much and the integrity of the tire was still intact (no cables or threads visible). Came here for an alignment on 7/30/23, dropped my car off opening time, 8am...ended up being roughly around 8:20. By the time the staff showed up and people were waiting outside. Throughout the day, I didn't receive any update, so I called around 12:30, thinking they'd be done with my alignment by then... Tim, who answered the phone, said, "I told you there was only one person doing an alignment, and there were two people ahead of me." He was quite rude in doing so when I asked, and no, he hadn't told me that prior. I ended up missing a day of work because I didn't get my car until a little after 5 pm. My girlfriend and ai arrived at 4:30 half an hour before they closed because they still hadn't called, so we decided to show up. Tim was at the desk and said my car was almost done "he's" still working on it, not knowing he was the guy working on my car. It was my first time at the shop and clearly it wasn't a good impression. Opened late, no update on my car at all! Tim was so dramatic in describing something that was up with my car. I know my car, and I certainly wouldn't want to be charged any fee to look at whatever problem he was trying to tell me my car had. Quality service! My car needed new tires so I brought it in and they also found that there were some serious problems with the axle, etc. (which explained why the car wasn't handling properly) After detailing the repairs, the mechanic identified which had to be done ASAP and offered to postpone others so I wouldn't have a huge bill. I really appreciated that. What really impressed me was the mechanic at the end of the day. When I came to pick up my car, it was still up on the lift so he invited me in and explained the work that had been done. He explained it clearly and respectfully (I've dealt with some mansplaining mechanics in my day). It was clear that he really enjoyed his job. read more

I trusted Maplewood Tire based on the reviews I read online so only thought I should contribute as well. I stopped in about 8:30am yesterday morning, day after New Year's Day. I met Dominic and let him know I was looking for Michelin's for my BMW, he was patient and walked through all options w me. I ended up purchasing Continentals based on his recommendation which saved me a couple hundred dollars. The reviews of the tires he recommended were incredible, they ordered & installed them same day, did a full alignment as well. They took their time and I even watched the mechanic rework the alignment until it was perfect. The price was better than if I had ordered them on tire rack and had them installed. These guys are completely legit and trustworthy, they tried to up-sell nothing. A huge thanks to Dominic and team, I absolutely love the Continental tires which replaced my awful run flats. My SUV wouldn't start one Friday afternoon around 1:30pm a few weeks ago. Called AAA for a tow. When the flatbed arrived the driver tried giving my battery a jump start & that failed. I had called Maplewood Tire ahead of time to confirm if they could look at my SUV that day & Brian said maybe because they were a bit busy and that Saturday was a definite. So I get towed and meet up with Brian and Tony. Tony gets a more powerful battery jumper & my SUV starts right up! It was a very dead battery since it was the original on my 2009 vehicle. We have work trucks but I also drive a vintage vehicle (aka a piece of junk). Dominic gives you enough information to make an informed choice while still providing exceptional customer service. We no longer live in the area and we still have our personal vehicles towed to their location. We've done at least 10 repairs with them over the years and I have nothing but great things to say. I had a wonderful experience this morning at Maplewood tire. Over the weekend my tire indication light came on in my Volkswagen Jetta ,my husband filled the tire with air and the light went off. It came on again this morning and I noticed the tire was extremely low. i was concerned so I called Maplewood tire. They took me right away found a piece of metal in the tire plugged it and send me on my way. A very pleasant experience from beginning to end. I will definitely go back. With the exception of the guy who appears to be the owner, the mechanics are great and trustworthy. When apparent-owner showed up, all of a sudden I was charged $700 three times in a row. On the third occasion I took my business elsewhere. It seems that their approach is to fix every possible related mechanism and spare no expense. It doesn't take talent to remove and replace everything. Why pay $700 to open up and diagnose an obviously broken transmission when a decent used transmission costs just as much? Why take the $700 remove/replace approach when we can try cleaning out exhaust systems to see if that just might be the problem -- which it turned out to be. Nice people, go elsewhere. read more

Sent my car for wheel alignment. Noticed that the front left tire wore out rapidly after the work was supposedly done. I went back and they acknowledged that the car needed wheel alignment but did not accept the responsibility. The work was less than six months. I don't think they worked on it the first time. I researched buying tires - found best prices for my Prius at Costco and TireRack.com. Because Costco doesn't take reservations, I checked Yelp and found Maplewood Tire ranked #1 in Maplewood. I would always rather bring my business to a local store. I went, showed them the Costco printout, and quickly they admitted they can't compete with Costco's buying arrangements with the manufacturer. Although they were great with the car service, when I had an oil change done they said I had to have a lot of other things done for my car. I went to another mechanic I had known for a while to have him look at the suggestions. He said that they were not needed at all. Had 4 tires replaced Dec. 2014. Result; 4 damaged pressure sensors which leave a permanently lighted indicator, 4 over inflated tires( 48lbs instead of 32lbs.), one tire damaged during installation (which they replaced at a cost of $90.00 ) again over inflated to 48lbs and a helpful suggestion of, "well since the tire light doesn"t go out just manually test the pressures more often, you know just like the old days."
