This was one of the worst experiences I've had at a golf course. First of all the course isn't that nice and is on a busy highway. I will say the wait staff is amazing. The accommodations for ADA is not exist it feels like. We came in around 330 for a 412 Tee time and were told that the cart was only good for 9 holes. My partner can't walk the whole course due to a heart condition. There was no accommodation for his disability! And there was no apology for the inconvenience from the pro shop team. On top of that the 9 holes was around $80! They also have a no spectator rule...I always ride in the cart if I'm not playing at all the courses around WA, but paying another $80 just to join my partner for 9 holes was not outrageous: We got a refund and left after waiting an hour to find out I couldn't join him for his round. I will be calling the manager Monday and I will not be recommending this course to anyone unless you're going for lunch. read more

We always have a great time when playing golf here. The course is very well maintained, especially the greens. That's saying a lot for a local muni. One of the best aspects is the way they treat you in the pro shop. Kirk is as good as they get. Even welcomes you and calls you by name at check-in. Keeps things moving off the first tee, too. The 19th hole is also pretty special. Great outdoor patio with good service by a friendly wait staff, and reasonably priced food and beverages. This is our go-to! read more

We're the old people sitting here, watching people golf off the first tee..Both of us were taught by skilled and professional golfers who also taught us golf etiquette. MAPLEWOOD : you need a marshal on the first tee.. We have watched on a regular basis, golfer after golfer hitting into the group ahead of them. payed for 18 holes with lady at the desk and she said golf carts were only good for 9 holes and would give me a pull cart at the turn went in to get a handle and then was told I had to pay additional money for a pull cart. A friend and I decided to play here on Sunday (07/20/2025). Our tee time was scheduled for 10:22am. I arrived early to pay my green fees and my cart fee. I let the gentlemen at the counter that my friend and I would be riding our own separate carts. They looked confused, but continued to charge me half a cart fee. After the other gentlemen at the counter realized that he had undercharged me, they continued to upcharge me the full cart fee. My friend and I had planned to bring our spouses with us to enjoy the day and atmosphere. So after my friend arrived and went to check in, he came out to advise me that they were upset with me and needed to see me inside the pro shop. I proceed to the pro shop and the gentlemen at the counter advised me that they do not allow spectators at their course and that I would be required to pay a FULL green fee PLUS half cart fee for my spouse, that was not going to golf AT ALL, let alone touch a club. They claimed it was for liability reasons, but I have never been to a municipal course OR privately owned course that charges a full green fee for a rider/spectator, maybe a half cart fee or even a full cart fee; NEVER a full green fee. Albeit, they stated it was within their Ts&Cs, yet I am still shocked that a city owned course would go to those lengths to be this strict and this uptight. They stated that they were able to "squeeze" our 4some at a new tee time (10:25am) as if they were doing us a favor by doing so. All in all, greens were ok, fairways were sub par, hot dogs at the turn were lackluster, pace of play was horrid (almost 6hrs). I would recommend other nearby course for the price, ie Auburn GC, Druids Glenn, Willows Run, Riverbend GC, just to name a few. read more

We actually love coming here not just because it's close by, but we have actually gotten to know most of the staff there and it's a nice comfortable familiar place for us now. The course has a mix of both challenging and straight shot holes. The front 9 is different in terrain and settles against a hillside so you are going around the side, up and down the hill and around the corner. You get to work on your fade skills. Also, the hills up are a leg workout so you get the complete body workout while golfing! lol The back 9 is like target practice lol. Nice long holes but each hole parallels each other and you get to watch people run in and out of your fairway because they have hit it into your hole. Yes, you will eventually do the same so its pretty funny. They do a great job of keeping the greens and the fairways clean and divot free. Not to mention they have some pretty cool holes; 5, 17, and 18 are my favorite. 10, 15 and 13 really test my patience! lol The driving range is nice too as they are a double decker with heaters. Open late into the night just in case you need to hit a bucket in. The driving range needs a refresh as the flags that were blue, white or red are now a cool pastel and or the wrong color on the map but you still get to enjoy hitting in the facility. You can buy a card and purchase buckets off the card. That is my suggestion so you don't have to keep going into the pro shop to purchase more buckets. They do a great job with social distancing as well. Making sure that they and customers are wearing masks and that the T times are spaced accordingly. The food in the grill is also delicious. Our favorite thing to do pre covid was to belly up to the bar and grab dinner; but we will settle for dining in the bar or restaurant as the food is great! you will have a great time here, playing golf, working on your "gardening" skills or just grabbing a bite. The prices are pretty good too so you won't be spending an arm and a leg. Enjoy! read more

Overall the bar was good and the beer prices were reasonable. I sat at the bar and had service almost immediately. They have a couple of TVs with various sports on them. I recently tried to set up a fundraising golf tournament for a local public high school here. I had everything lined up and approved through the school district for the tournament. They charge $12,500 for a tournament, which is fine, but it's an extra charge for food and beverage. I explained we had a sponsorship through a food vendor who would provide food for us for free since this was a fundraising event for a public school that doesn't have a lot of money. They told me they don't allow that and we'd have to purchase through them. This was for an event for a public school that uses Maplewood as their home golf course for the golf team, they are literally right down the hill. It's a shame that the greed of the course outweighs helping the local community. We weren't asking for a discount on the price it takes to do the tournament, just trying to set something up to help our local kids with the resources we have. Definitely wouldn't recommend playing here or hosting anything here, very disappointing. read more

Drove by here last Friday 8/17 around 6pm and a golf ball hit the hood of our car, dented it and left white marks on the black paint. Please avoid this place if you can. Even though they have high nets, golf balls make it over. If it had been out windshield, who knows how bad it could've been. Please read this if thinking about moving into the area. Terrible and racist service. Although they are located in a large Asian community they act like elitist pricks on a mediocre course at best. The pro shop are filled with customer service challenged (think incompetent) employees who sometimes tries but are held back by a indifferent manager whose time has expired. We were treated so badly to the point where we have vowed never to come back a year ago and have kept our promise. Easy to get to if I'm in the Renton area since I have a lot of network within this area. There's 2 floors for this driving range. During the summer, grass gets kind of yellow, but overall balls are relatively cheap and there's no formal dress code to golf or practice at the range here. Phenomenal golf course! First and foremost. If you read my, "we're in Seattle golf weekend blah blah" then you already know we're here and there was no tee times. Sad but harsh reality. But the sadness stops here. The bro in law...walking, talking golfnow.com, teetimesnow.com, find us a course now please.com, that he is...gets us on. So we have super low expectations and a bit skeptical of where we'll end up at this point. That has nothing to do with the great experience we had. From tee #1a short dog leg right with beautiful view of the forest background. To #2 a downhill par 3 with towering trees lining the pathway like spectators at a US Open. Every hole thereafter was just so unique and so different. In the first 5 holes I had to shape my shots off the tee boxes both ways...hit approach shots both ways and elevation changes as well. The tee boxes were in pretty good shape and the greens were impeccable. They were challenging but fair. True rolls with some leaving you guessing as what looked like up was really down...it's on the side of a mountain...hello. The only thing I would do is add some length as it played really short...but other than that I have no complaints...only a happy golfer that wishes this place was closer to home. Plus I won on the last hole! I guess that always makes it just that much sweeter! read more

Couldn't ask for anything better! Today, I played my first 9 holes of golf!! When we arrived at the pro shop, we got a bucket of balls to warm up at the range. There must be a sports thing on or something because the staff member behind the corner said we could start earlier if we wanted due to the open schedule. He was very friendly. The range is 2 layers, which is very cool! Soon enough, we grabbed a bottle of sand and started our trek! Hole 1 was a lot of fun. When we got to the putting, I thought people were waiting at the tee for Hole 2 so we just stood around. But that was Hole 9, oops. Hole 2 is just past it. The course is beautiful and the perfect way to take in autumn. The vibe was relaxed. It isn't stuffy at all. I want to come back and golf all the time! But for now, it was a fantastic way to spend my birthday weekend! TEN stars if I could! read more

Community golf course in every sense of the word. Plays great especially given the traffic the course sees. Greens are really well maintained - as fast and pure as you can expect on a reasonably priced public course. The guys in the pro shop set this course apart. Sean and Kirk and the gang are next level nice. I play a lot as a single and can't always plan rounds days in advance. They always get me out. Love this golf course and play there often. Big parking lot usually easy to find a spot. Great driving range facility and if you pre-pay on a Card you can easily get range balls to hit. I walk on usually without a tee time and can usually get on. Like playing their twilight too (after 6 pm it's like $27). Cool staff members and course is in great condition. Pretty challenging par 72 course but you can go really low if you play good here. I shot my best round of 67 here. You learn little tricks and where to hit it the more you play. Good for skilled golfers or beginners. Greens are challenging here. Putts outside of 15 feet are tough here so gotta hit the ball close. Like their restaurant their too. Great course and facility and have no complaints at all about this place. read more

I haven't been to many golf courses, and I don't golf, but my son wanted to use the driving range and this was the closest one to us. We went on a weekend evening. Driving range when we went was self serve (don't know if it is ever staffed). There wasn't much signage at all explaining which way to the range, and that the upstairs was a second level used for the range as well. We had wandered up there thinking maybe there was a staffed counter or something. I wasn't sure how to use the ball machine with cash, so after staring at the ball dispenser for a few minutes, I decided to go to the clubhouse to purchase a prepaid card which gave you $25 for $20. Now I had to go find the pro shop. After stepping outside, I walked over to the next building which was the pro shop to purchase my card. Pro shop was pretty good sized and had a nice selection of overpriced items, which is what you get for forgetting what you need in the first place! After finally getting our balls, we went out to the range and chose a spot. The little patch of the fake green grass that was in the stall was worn from use, a little wholly in places, but lied down somewhat flat. They had the adjustable plastic tees which gave you a choice of 3 heights. I noticed that the stalls had timed heaters on them, but when I tried to turn ours on, I'm pretty sure it wasn't working. It was raining that day, and rather chilly, I believe in beginning to mid April. Stalls looked a little dirty and worn and I couldn't find anyone to help me. Other than that, I probably would come back just because I live in Fairwood and Maplewood is 5 minutes from us. read more

Very affordable place to play, however, it doesn't present ANY sort of challenge. Haven't played an 18 round here over par in about 3 years. Nice range set up, and with the punch card system, can be a great value if you are trying to get your game into shape. If you have a handicap in the single digits seek a challenge elsewhere. If you are a 20 something player, bring a group of work buddies out and enjoy a round. read more

It's a fun and nice course. Unfortunately the same can not be said for the staff. They have no compassion or understanding of ADA needs. We brought a family member with us that is disabled (not ambulatory) because we didn't want him to feel excluded from the birthday celebration. We usually walk the course but got carts today so he could ride along. We expected to pay a cart fee for him but they also made us pay full green fees for him too! He couldn't leave the cart much less swing a club! So basically they forced us to pay for a product/service that they knew he could not used because of his disability. This is certainly not ethical and I question if it is legal. read more

This is for the driving range only, as I haven't golfed on the actual course. Maplewood is just down the street from where we live in Fairwood. I pass by it every day, and it always seems to be packed, rain or shine. And so on a day with nothing else to do, I decided to take my son there to hit some balls on the driving range....just to try something new... as neither of us has ever golfed before, other than putt putt. It's $8 for a large bucket of balls, and they have clubs you can use. It was very relaxed in the driving range. There weren't any other children in there, but lots of people smiled at us, and it just felt pretty friendly. We were struggling along with our swings, when a kind older gentleman came over to teach us some tips. Changing our form made all the difference in the world! We had a blast! I'm really glad to have something close to home to do with my son that is outdoorsy, where we can get a little exercise and have some fun. Highly recommend as a "different" activity for families with middle-school and older age kids. read more

A nice, quiet driving range. It was a little confusing how to buy golf balls at first - you have to go to the pro shop to buy them and use the code on the machine in the driving range. I liked how they have protectors between golfers to prevent ricochet injuries. Cleaner, quieter, and cheaper than Riverside in Kent. They also have more golf club options. read more

We had dinner here with a group... by far the worst prime rib dinner I have had anywhere in the Pacific Northwest... the "rare" prime rib order was well done and dry... the loaded baked potato was naked and the server didn't bring the condiments until our dinner was halfway over and the potato was cold. The service was terrible as well. Our server only addressed our table a couple of times throughout... no refills on water or beverages of any kind. Worst use of $150 dollars for sure. read more

I wish I could write a review about golf, but I haven't even been able to hit a ball at this place! The first time I went, I drove over to hit some balls at the range. The website was out of date and didn't mention the fact that they were closing two hours earlier for COVID. I even tried to call earlier in the day to ensure that they were open, and three times it just went to voicemail and nobody answered. So, after a 45 minute drive, I showed up at an empty driving range and had to drive home. The next week, I was determined to get in there on time. I took off right when work ended so I could get there by 7:30 and at least get in 30 minutes at the range. When I arrived, they said "oh sorry, we close the ball machines at 7:30." I explained that this was not on their website or posted anywhere, I had just driven a long way, and would certainly be done by 8 (It was literally 7:30 on the dot). The guy behind the counter didn't say a word. He shrugged, turned around an ignored me. So let's just say, if you love driving (in your car, not at a range), you're going to absolutely love this place. read more

I'd like to think I am a good reviewer of courses. I am a 3 handicap, been in the golf industry since my junior golf days, played NCAA during my college years... and I'm quite the golf snob. Maplewood is a great course if you don't hit it long. If you're a long ball hitter, put the driver away because you'll be hitting a LOT of long irons on the 4's. I like the different changes on the front but the back nine is a little crammed, especially after 12. Holes 13-17 are side by side so look out for errant shots from other groups. FORE!!!!!! Pace is decent here and the staff is great. I recommend but again, low handicap golfers looking for a challenge, go elsewhere. read more

Not that long but still fun to play back 9 can get a little boring but the front 9 is great. The guys in the pro shop are cool too, driving range and restaurant attached this place has everything. This was the first course I played at when I first moved up to Renton. It's what you expect from a public course that's decent: slow play, okay fairway conditions and packed with golfers trying to catch 9 holes after work. I tend to come here a lot after work and it's always packed. Don't expect to fit in 18 holes if you tee off around 5:30-6:00. As far as the difficulty of the course it's fairly easy and plays really short. The greens are about average speed every time I've gone there. The ground on the par 3's seem to always be really hard so I'm not sure if they forget to water the par 3's or there's something that I don't know. If you're looking to have a weekend golf outing with a couple of buddies I'd recommend this place. I've seen golfers of all skill level play here (from beginners to scratch golfers) so it definitely attracts golfers of all skills. They also have multilevel range right next to it which is pretty cheap ($1 for 10 balls) but I absolutely hate hitting off mats so I don't go there too much. I would give this review 4/5 if they had a range with a grass area instead of mats. read more
