When you enter this underground facility, you see the fresh and lightly colored lanes strewn throughout the bar with the lights from the monitors from the scoring systems. Then you enter into the belly of the bar and you will see a full rounded bar and many tables and some somfy couches for people to relax and spend time with friends and/or family. The place has a hipster vibe with a fun and flare of new wave feel. I was staying in the new Hyatt just a few blocks down the street, and got in late, around 11:30 PM on a Tuesday night. Wandered down the block looking for a late dinner (I had come from the West Coast), and saw this place was still open. A little confusing from the street as there was a host stand near the doors, but it was unmanned, and wasn't clear that the place was open. Lights were on and the doors were opened, so I wandered in and then down the stairs. After a long afternoon/evening of a travel, the bar was a welcome site. I asked the bartender if the kitchen was still open, and he said he wasn't sure and had to check. I ordered the spicy chicken and an IPA, a little before midnight. I was a little surprised when the bartender mentioned that he'd be doing last call soon (it was a little before midnight), and that he could put another drink order in for me, but whatever. In any case, after I'd taken care of getting a drink and some food ordered, I got a chance to actually look at the place. Square island bar with with pre-cast concrete counter tops, 8 bowling lanes towards the back, split into two groups of four, and probably 4 or 5 groups of leather, mid-century modern couches and chairs scattered around the large space. Definitely quiet late on a Tuesday night (maybe 4 other customers in the space, with just as much staff and their friends hanging around), but seemed like it could be a nice spot to hang out, whether you wanted an activity or just some quiet nooks to drink with friends. Nothing special about either the food nor the beer, but they were fairly priced for what they were. Fair prices, decent food and drink, and a pretty cool atmosphere. Definitely somewhere I could see myself hanging out if had been in Knoxville longer. read more

i came here for a work bowling tournament. This place is super cute. Great, warm atmosphere. Exposed brick and lots of wood. Nice drink list and food choices. Service was a little spotty, but we were a loud and chaotic group, outside their normal work hours. I had a blast and will definitely return. Two or three minor notes. You can either enter from the bowling alley below or from the patio entrance in the back, you get the vibe as soon as you walk in the door. It's similar to the vibe at Maple Hall, but a hell of a lot quieter! Lots of comfy couches adorn the room, along with large tables that have stacks of board games. It's a perfect date night spot. They event have giant magnetic scrabble on the walls. So great! There is also a projector in the middle of the room that plays movies on the wall. Their full menu is available until 12:30am, which is amazing because it's hard to find late night food in Knoxville and the menu at Maple Hall is DELISH! Their drink menu is only available at The Parlor. While you can order drinks from Maple Hall, you can't order drinks from The Parlor once you go down those stairs. Their house cocktails all have locally themed names. So Knoxville. So cute. This was an interesting place it's underground bowling alley. On top of the bowling alley is condos. It was 80° outside and ,going underground it felt at least 20° cooler ,The lanes were full of people about 8 o'clock at night they also had separate rooms for parties and have little nook where are you can have private get together. We checked out The Parlor last night for the first time at a friend's invitation to celebrate a new job. I would never have guessed this cute space was above the bowling alley! I loved the comfy couches and the scrabble board! Drinks were great though the food was too pricey for what we got (collectively tried a philly cheesesteak, pretzel bites, fries, and steak skewers). The steak was very fatty, the cheesesteak was OK but wouldn't pay $9 for it again. Will definitely return for drinks and games! They're placed in and among the brick walls and columns in the basement of the building. This means the setting is more intimate than a normal bowling alley. The alley we were on was in a room with only 4 lanes, so it was just us and one other group in there. Also, this place has awesome food that is just as good as any other restaurant downtown! And the pricing is pretty good too! My wife has a gluten allergy, and this place has gluten free buns available for their sandwiches and burgers. They were delicious! This is a great little place, perfect to hang out with friends and enjoy bowling in a place catered more towards adults. Surprisingly enough, the food was also delicious and we had a great couple hours here. They refilled our waters frequently while we were playing and checked on us often to see if we needed anything. Bowling did seem a little pricey to me but given the location and all they offer, I'd say it was worth what we spent. Every time I go bowling, fries and beer are just a MUST and I'm so happy to be able to report that their basket of fries was super yummy and their beer selection is awesome!! Arrived here with my friends after just completing our finals for professional school. Went to the bar to order some drinks and apparently I misspoke and the bartender interpreted it as be being "blackout" and said "You'll have a water" I tried explaining there was no way I was drunk yet because I haven't even had a drink! She then proceeded to cut our entire group off from food and drink service. The bartender 'Lilly Adler' displayed extremely unprofessional and condescending service which radiated throughout the other employees. Came for the bowling, stayed for the awesome food and drinks! Beyond the bowling ($20/hour per lane), they have ample lounge space to hang out and eat. If you are bowling, a server comes to you so that you don't have to run to the bar while you're playing! It's nice to have a new alley without the stale cigarette smell, although my friend (a long time bowler) missed it. Everything is brand new, including the shoes, and they sell socks in case you forgot them! I had one of the nonalcoholic cocktails, which wasn't sweet at all--they don't mistake "no alcohol" for "soda." I also had the Maude cocktail, which was very well balanced and refreshing. All my friends' drinks were well mixed, I especially liked the Maple Mule. The bartenders know what they're doing. Our server was supremely pleasant and quick. The food was all spectacular- the pretzel sticks were a group favorite (soft and fluffy with beer cheese). I got the chickpea fritters, which were in presentation similar to hush puppies, and had smoky bacon bits throughout. The fries were nicely seasoned, the mixed nuts were delicious...I will be back just to further explore the menu. For small plates, it was a very share-able portion. We had a wonderful time- it isn't cheap, but it's similar to nearby options. I hope they keep up their quality, it's a great addition to downtown that isn't on Market Square. read more

I had family in from out of town, and was told it would be a two hour wait. We were fine with that, and sit down to have a few drinks. A few minutes later another family came by our table and we overheard a gentleman express his concern about the two to three hours wait. Shortly after that we observed the gentleman giving the waitress a "tip".Soon they had a bowling lane. To add insult to injury, we later overheard the gentleman on the phone telling a friend about the tip and the access to the lane. He even ask his friend to come down and bowl. We pointed out the event to the manager, and to Maple Hall's credit we were not charged for our drinks. However, the whole experience left a sour taste in our mouths so we left. It soon dawned on us that's probably the reason that Maple Hall doesn't take reservations. They can make more money by making patrons wait so they can charge them for food and drinks, while the staff takes "tips" prior to serving read more

I love this place and this was the first bowling alley I been to since I moved here and now Im hooked!! Its $30 an hour and u get about 4-5 games within that hour ( atleast we did ) . They have a great bar and food and I love the decor of this place. They also have parties at this location I think I saw a bridal party on the other side from where I was because of the cake I saw. Such a fun time! An adults only place to bowl, chill out, and have drinks? A win for sure. Went there with classmates for drinks and had mimosas all night. The bartenders were very friendly and our drinks were worth what we paid for. The reason it didn't get a 5-star is because of the waitress we had. She had a personal hygiene problem (ok, I get it, it can get hot down there) and she wasn't very attentive, as we got our own drinks a good 90% of the time. She also never announced last call to us and we missed having last drinks by 10 minutes. We were having an amazing time and that kind of left it on a bad note.
