The happy hour menu is great and so is the timing, 1PM for a start, cannot complain. Very good drinks and the bartender, she is excellent; friendly, gave us recommendations and also topped off drinks for some of us. Definitely coming back to enjoy more drinks and trying the happy hour food menu too.

We follow three -Jake Kulak and the Modern Vandals, Suburban Escape Plan, and Intergalactic Kegger, and have seen all three at least half a dozen times. So, when we learned that Intergalactic Kegger was playing at the Irish American Home Society, we made plans to join a bunch of friends there. You need to be a member, or know a member to get in, and there is a checkpoint at the door where you are asked about membership status. We aren't members, but we know one of the guys in the band and his wife are, so we signed in as their guests and paid the $5 non-member cover charge. I could not believe how PACKED the downstairs bar area was. Yes, it was a Friday night, but it was only 6:15 or so, but it was so crowded it was hard to walk through the throng and even more difficult to find a few open tables. Once we settled down and claimed a space to sit, we walked over to the bar and, of course, had to order a cold perfectly poured Guiness. The bartender was a pro and poured it in two stages to minimize the foam and fill the glass with as many milliliters of that great Irish Stout as humanly possible. The ambience in the downstairs space was fantastic. We saw families with children, a young couple playing darts, and hundreds of fun-loving people of all ages dancing and having a grand old time. We interacted with a few customers when it came time to move around a few tables and chairs, and everyone was as friendly and cooperative as could be. There was food service last night, provided by Glastonbury's Tenth Hole Tavern. To order, we walked over to a counter to the right of the bar, and chose among a cup of chili, order of wings, shrimp tacos, a hot dog, and three sandwiches. Payment can be made by cash or Venmo. We ordered Shrimp Tacos ($16), a Pulled Pork Sandwich ($15), and a basket of fries ($7). My tacos were great- three big ones with a sweet chili panko crust, shredded cabbage, and pico on flour tortillas. I've had skimpier portions in a lot of restaurants for the same price. And yes, they sure paired well with that cold smooth Guiness. The sound system was great, and at a reasonable volume so we could enjoy the music and still have conversations at our table. What a fun experience!

We ordered an appetizer of nachos and a few burgers for mains. And waited. And waited. I was checking my watch often because we had two hours on the parking meter that was rapidly winding down to zero. Nachos came after a while. Nothing to write home about... almost stale chips with a cheese/sour cream/green onion and jalapeño topping. Maybe a dozen black beans in the mix. We waited again for our mains. After a total of an hour, they came. I ordered a black & blue burger and asked for tomato to be added. It arrived without the tomato, so I reminded the waitress about that. And eventually the tomato came from the kitchen. Single slice. But by this point the burger was getting cold. I opened the bun to put it on and then saw the kitchen forgot the onion strings. So I flagged her down again to ask and she apologized and went off... to clear other tables. After ten minutes I asked her if the onion rings were coming and she was confused, thinking I didn't want them because I asked for no onions on my salad. No, I just said no raw onion on the salad. She asked it I wanted the onion strings after all. At this point, the burger had been sitting for at least ten minutes and I told her to forget it and just remove it from the bill. She looked over her shoulder and said, "here comes the manager". The manager shows up, reaches over to adjust the umbrella on our table, then leaves. Without saying a word. He walks off and we don't know what's going on. The waitress returns and says she comped my burger 50%. I asked why not 100% because I'm not eating it at all. She blinks and says she'll check. Bill comes back with it removed from the total, and I'm missing my credit card. She runs back exclaiming how she forgot the card and probably could use some coffee today. Ummm, yeah. This was error on error. Not a good look and pretty sad customer service. At least they had the World Cup on tv.

Nachos and wings are super super solid here and I highly recommend both. Does it feel the cleanest inside? Nah. Would I typically want to bring my wife here? Not really. Would I come here to watch a game w a group of friends? Absolutely. It's loud, rowdy, and fun but don't expect 5 star food ambiance and fine dining. We pop in here from time to time and have never been disappointed - as long as you go in w low expectations you shouldn't be either.

So long as you minded your own business, you were okay. The last two times I've stopped in I've discovered that the place is not what it used to be. It's now a hang-out run by Albanians or Bosnians, I'm not certain which. Everyone seems to be drinking demitasse there. Everyone. A few beers are sold, and from the look of the bar bottles, gin's the favorite drink by a mile. The highest-level vodka that they carry is Absolut. I think they have a little V.S. cognac. It's still not a place for conversation, but a vodka and tonic's $4 and made strong. The coffee, if you dare, is only $1.
