I absolutely loved the food and feel they had a tapa for everyone and all palettes. My favorite was a Spanish sausage (I don't believe it was a chorizo) on bread that got brought to my table. Usually you go pick up a pincho and put it on your plate, but similar to a Rodizio they bring things to your table and offer more each tapa is €2.80. I absolutely loved our server, she was very helpful and very nice to us at our table. Finally, I also absolutely loved the locale. It was dark, but the wooden tables and high chairs really set a warm comforting mood and I absolutely loved the lighting.

At the instruction of one of the hosts, we chose a bottle of wine from the shelves along the wall and took it to the bar where it was opened and glasses were poured from it for us. Not only is the wine selection very broad, but the prices are exceptional - only a little more than you'd pay if you were buying the wine directly from a supermarket! To pair with the excellent wine, we chose from the menu of simple tapas (ham, bread, olives, cheese, etc.). We could only get two stools at the bar which might likely have suited a more romantic and younger couple. Despite this setback due to a previous day in-person last minute reservation the food and ambiance was excellent. Must say despite the frantic activity the staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. Our shared dishes were Grilled Sardines, Black Sausage (the best we've ever tasted), Cod Croquettes (nothing exceptional), Pimentos de Padron & Salad. The wine by the glass was good bit I'd skip the local region French style overly expensive Sauvignon Blanc and stick to Verdejo or other Spanish wines on offer. This is not a restaurant for a relaxing or a laid back evening. I don't think the servers feet ever touch the ground and the kitchen must be volcanic! Great value and well worth a one-off experience. Our meal €64.35 for 2 and like many tourists was rounded up to $65.00. We might be tempted to return but definitely only to sit at a table.

We came for lunch on a Tuesday, and unlike many other restaurants we dined at during our trip to Europe, this one had it's doors closed and we had to ring to be let in. Once in, I was slightly surprised at how elegant the place was. We were looking for a more casual lunch and was worried it may cost more than we had hoped to spend. Thankfully the entire lunch cost us only 41 euros, and that included two 4-course meals and a class of wine for myself and my partner. I was so glad we decided on this restaurant because the meal was fantastic. Each dish was better than the last. Lunch menu is decided, so 17.50 euros gets you an appetizer, entree, main course, and a dessert. For our appetizer we had the croquettes. It was a small portion, one croquette each, but it was so good. The filling melted inside your mouth, and the presentation was beautiful. Next, we had the ceviche. Again, it was incredible. Better than the croquettes, if that was possible. After that we had the steak, it also was delicious! The portion was perfect as well, leaving enough room for dessert. We chose the cheesecake, and their preparation was not like a regular cheesecake - instead it was almost a pudding with crust at the bottom. It was so tasty that I wish I was eating it again. The staff was very friendly to us Americans and we would definitely dine here again when we return - it was hands down the best meal of the entire trip.

A quick google search led us to Angolo Di Vino, just a little outside the street that circles the city center. What a pleasant place to stop and have a bottle of wine. The owner is super-knowledgeable and helped us choose a really nice bottle to sip on. She also gave us some information about the area, which was helpful. She also brought out some small bites for us to nibble on. Highly recommend!
