Good course layout and doesn't cost a ton. Only downside is a very small driving range.

The coaches for the kids lessons are great. My son loves it. They're very nice and friendly. What's irritating right now is that I'm hearing 3 employees cussing like there's no tomorrow right by the outside patio seating area. Super loud. Every other word is a swear word. I get it, you're on break but you're still on the premises within earshot of your customers. It's not like I don't swear but still. Even people who are putting at the range part are looking back to see where the noise is coming from. 3 stars for the coaches and owner though who have been nothing but nice. Edited to add: Jeff reached out to me via email letting me know that he had spoken with the staff mentioned. It sounds like they are separate from the golf course (eatery/cafe staff?). Have had great experiences at other courses. This one wasn't it. Although our group of 4 wasn't pacing very well in front 9 as beginner golfers. Only 20 minutes behind. We let 3 groups of 2 ahead and were hounded to speed up our game. Other courses have had no issue what so ever letting a few groups pass. Family Fun with a great feel (check out the pics). This day I brought my Fiancée and her son for a round (18 holes) of golf. I wasn't disappointed. Parking and check in was fast and easy. This was a mid day play and we enjoyed the twilight hour on the back nine (9). Staff is always friendly and your bathrooms are always clean. Price is great (especially if you walk...Stop! If you want to be SCAMMED, LIED TO, have your MONEY STOLEN from you, and be disrespected by staff this is the place. This place is a complete joke. We had purchased a "month pass" to be able to use it multiple times in the month. Basically more bang for your buck. We are trying to get multiple uses out of the pass not just break even. We purchased the pass in the middle of the month. For it be valid for 30 days. But apparently you have to be a mind reader to know that it expires at the end of each calendar month. Not the 30 days from which you purchased it (which makes sense). But the staff won't tell you that and will get mad at you for even asking questions about the monthly pass... you are just automatically supposed to know all the rules here. When you get a subscription in 2024 it's 30 days from the day you purchase the subscription. For example: Netflix, Peacock, Pandora, Apple Music, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING in 2024. If they knew anything about anything. They would have a sign about monthly memberships and that they are at beginning of each calendar month and will take your full monthly payment even if there's only 10 days left in the calendar month. (But they conveniently don't tell you that and don't have a sign so they can rip off customers). The staff said that it's expired there's nothing they can do about it . they wouldn't prorate the 15 days that we lost on going to the course. We spoke with the manager (Jeff), he said it was an inconvenience for them to make it right. He wouldn't prorate the days we missed out on and said it's our fault a staff member didn't tell us it was at the beginning on each calendar month. Basically said that sucks for you. By the looks of it on yelp, this is a constant problem and Jeff and Geanna try to blame the customers instead of taking ownership at this course. Jeff and Geanna say "call them" but they WON'T do anything to make it right and will be condescending and rude. Honestly don't even know how they are business with the customer service they have. Geanna responses to people yelps reviews are laughable and take no accountability.It's the customer's fault for everything and always has an excuse. For the love of God. Edit: The course is actually really nice for a muni, hence the 4 star. I still believe there is room for improvement in customer service and the tone of some of these responses of bad reviews. They said the would put a note about the monthly pass for total transparency - they said nobody has ever misunderstood that it only falls within a calendar month for the last 30 years. Somehow a couple people did and it took 30 years to happen, so be it. --------------------- Great course but absolutely dishonest front desk and management. The front desk has zero customer service skills and borderline seem put out when you go to check in for your tee time. I purchased multiple "monthly" golf passes, but the latest one I purchased midway through July seemed to have an issue. They said it's only good for the month I purchased it for and it expired August 1st. They admitted that the person that sold it should have notified me that it was only for the month we're in. They calculated that I've played enough golf last month so it's a wash, or they would credit the difference. They're missing the point that I get the pass to be able to play MORE golf, not just what I essentially could pay for at any course. I've spent thousands of dollars at this course and they can't even make it right. It's not stated anywhere in the clubhouse or on their website, but somehow we should just know. We sat there and argued about it for 10 mins, he called his manager but he couldn't talk to me because he was in a meeting. After all that I still paid to play, and my group got 2 carts, then the kid goes out to hole one to get $12 more dollars because we had 1 person in each cart. What a joke. Spend your money somewhere else that actually cares about the community that pours money into their facility and encourages the game of golf for everyone. Edit for response: Thanks for the response. I was supposed to get a call back today but I did not receive one. I called again and they said they would call me back Monday. I was not highly agitated or irate, nor did I have heightened emotions that caused any miscommunication. My actual constructive criticism would be to avoid relying on a teenager to give a verbal notice to someone regarding the details of the monthly pass. You should have it listed on the website, as well as the pricing sheet in the pro shop. That would fix the gap you guys currently have and help prevent any further issues. The correct way to deal with someone that you failed to provide the correct details to would be to say "Hey, we apologize for the misunderstanding and that's our fault for not clearly and concisely letting you know what the monthly pass includes when you purchased it. I see you got an adequate amount of rounds, but why don't we just cover this round since you already booked a tee time and you're here. Or maybe I can check for a small discount for next months because we appreciate your business and want you to come back and enjoy golf here at Manteca GC" Seems easy enough and saves everyone a headache. This course is decent and affordable, but WOW the teenagers working there are impatient assholes, who shame you for trying to unload your golf cart at your car. What course on the planet doesn't allow you to load/unload near your car? I was reprimanded by a teenager on a power trip because I didn't return my cart, when I didn't even have a chance to return it before they already hopped in and started riding off with my belongings still inside. I enjoy this course, but I certainly won't return after the experience I had with their entitled staff acting like the additional two minutes for me to unload my stuff was an inconvenience. read more

I'm leaving this one star review because of the unprofessionalism of this place. I've officially played here 4 times and each and every time I've been rushed . No other parties around me were talking to either just me. My most recent experience I had the golf professional tell me at least 6 times to hurry up, and to have my friend hurry up as I had a friend play with me. While waiting for my friend in a golf cart, the golf professional leaves the clubhouse to again tell me to hurry up and to tell my friend to hurry. Then proceeds to ask me where my golf clubs are because he didn't see me have them. Golf clubs aren't allowed in the clubhouse so of course he wouldn't see them. Playing on hole 7, a worker drives all the way to us to remind us the carts are due in about 30 minutes, she proceeds to say for us to finish 7 and 8 and return the cart. Course was great but my interaction at the pro shop was poor. Young girl who seemed to be annoyed that I was there checking in. No hello or friendliness at all. Mostly one word questions and answers. This place used to be one of my favorite courses to go to because the course is pretty good and the restaurant serves great food. However the staff here are some of the worst I've ever seen on any golf course I have been to. We had an early tee time and didn't end up teeing off for over 20 minutes past our time due to the group in front of me and my friends which we didn't mind because we aren't impatient and that's how golf is. However after finally being able to tee off the group behind us starting hitting golf balls at us even though we were keeping up with pace of play and they came within INCHES of hitting my friends twice. After trying to tell the Marshall he told us we're playing too slow and to speed up. Two holes later he approached us again when once again we were keeping up with the group ahead of us and told us to speed up again and started to harass and insult us about our scores saying we should play from the whites when me and my friend have 0 problem getting a GIR from the blues and our other friends were playing from the whites/reds. After finally being left alone and being able to play 6 holes in peace we wanted to get some food and we were told we couldn't play the back 9 because they had too many groups going to hole 10. This place is an absolute joke. They overbook tee times to make money instead of giving patrons a decent experience. Dennis is the most unprofessional worst Marshall I've ever seen at a golf course and how he has a job after treating people like this for 4 years is insane to me. Never going here again and you shouldn't either. Edit for a response We did not have a group of five we had a group of four just like everybody else that was there apparently. After how awful we were treated there I wish me and my friends got 30 minutes for lunch that would have been the best thing you guys did for us all day. I have taken two lessons with Raine Martinez and he is excellent! I used to have a slice on my driver and go about 180 yards. After my first lesson and 5 rounds later I've been hitting 210-220 yards average with more than 50% straight on fairways. My max driver was 242 yards with the roll. He was also able to pinpoint a major correction in my swing which has lead me to hit more pure hits than normal. These were my first golf lessons ever after a year of playing golf recreationally and I can tell a huge difference in my game. Raine's knowledge about golf and being able to explain it to me in a way I understand was outstanding. Highly recommend! read more

Came here for the first time last week and from the onset, you can smell people smoking at the golf course which should never be allowed at a golf course, the staff doesn't enforce mask wearing at all and has no sense of health and safety standards. I ordered some food and the woman at the cash register wore her mask when she was assisting me but she decided it was okay to take it off and the woman working in the back of the kitchen did the same thing. Their digital payment portal was down and the they asked customers to pay in cash. I don't carry cash and we're pretty much cashless due to COVID-19, so she said I could do Zelle. So strange. I was hungry but after I received my food, I was definitely not going to eat food from a chef without a mask. Very unprofessional and not a place that cares about the healthy and safety of customers. The course is great but the front desk, especially the golf pro have no people skills. No small talk, warmth of any kind, and overall demeaning attitude. Many golfers are driving to other courses to avoid this behavior. It isn't a crime to be a little friendly since golfers have other courses to choose from. Customer service is horrible. The kids they have working there are very disrespectful and always have been. I went in at 5:15pm to buy a monthly pass and play golf with a cart. They refused to rent me a cart because it was past 5pm. No respect for people who have to work until 5pm. I spoke to Jeff and he didn't care that we don't get off work until 5pm. He tried to apologize that he wants us to get in at least 9 holes. We weren't concerned about that. I have been playing there for over a year and never had any problems. It's very disappointing that we live and work in Manteca but that we now have to go somewhere else to play. I spoke with Jack Tone and they will accommodate us up until 6pm. read more

I played for the first time at this golf course along with my brother and son-in-law. The fairway's and green's are in good shape. There are lot's of tree's lining the fairway's. So hit your tee shot's straight. The beverage cart girl (Brooke) was nice, I grabbed a hot dog and a shot of Fireball. The pace of play was a little slow though. Also cart's are not allowed out to the parking lot, so take your golf bag with you when checking in. I recommend this course. (8-26-2023). read more

Played this course for the first time and I was pleasantly impressed on the conditions. All the rain has given new life to the local golf courses! The greens here were top dressed almost 2 weeks ago and are rolling good. Bunkers need some attention. Fairways are maintained nicely. Great tennis facilities also. I'm not a very good golfer. I'm sitting at about a 20 HC. I enjoy playing very nice courses because why not play bad at a nice place. The price here is very nice for 18! I live down the street and will be coming here for practice and 18 often, the course condition seemed fine to me, bad time of year I guess with leaves hiding my balls. I have done the range twice and the links once. Today I Started at 2:45 with a backed up line of people. Ended up teeing off around 3 and was constantly pressured by groups being rushed by other groups... pace of play was lame because my group of 2 had to wait for a slow group of 4. The group behind us would often be up next to us waiting to tee off. The carts had to be returned by 5 but it got dark at that time anyway. From 3-5 we only played 9 then had to call it quits because it was dark. The fairways are very close and crammed together and with backed up golfers there would be maybe 2 teams in each fairway, I've never heard fore so many times in my life. In regards to the staff I don't see what the other rude reviews are about everybody seemed rather polite and professional. I will be here often for the driving range!! I will only play 18 if I book a tee time early in the morning to avoid delays and the crowd! I definitely recommend this course! read more

We left Old River called Manteca Park from the parking lot, spoke to Micaela (spelling)m explained our situation (3 people, 2 are playing and one a 10 year old along for the ride and 1 set of clubs). She tell me $25 for you to play/ride, $20 for your son to play/ride and your 10 year old can ride for free. She had us teeing off by 2:15. Let me be clear; I NEVER have a reason to be in Manteca. The City of Lard. But, with the folks continuing to reside in the Central Valley I do drive past Manteca from time to time. Out comes the "Interactive Map of Northern California Golf Courses" only to find Manteca in "Northern" California and this little course listed. Off of the freeway 2 miles and there it is. Just a little 18 hole muni but in VERY nice shape with as inventive a layout as they could do with a board flat track of land. $24 bucks to ride. That's a heck of a deal! Don't expect Pebble and you won't be disappointed. If you need a Central Valley 18 on the cheap, here you go. read more

I really had no complaints, other than my game :-) As you pull up in your vehicle, you find ample tiered parking. You are also impressed w/ the southern style plantation club house that sits upon the hill. It seems for this small town of Manteca, the golf course is a "destination". I saw family members of all ages frequenting not only the course, but also the range, and taking lessons. After finishing 18 holes I noticed a wedding party mulling around the bar area.. I really got the feeling that the locales appreciate the venue and use it to it's fullest extent. The course is deceiving in that standing on the first tee you have an omnipotent feeling of Attila the Hun ready to conquer this track, however you soon learn that the narrowness of many tree-lined fairways is your biggest challenge. Additionally, there are sufficient water hazards lurking in the wings to devour your ball at any given time. The fairways are cut well, but stray off them and you soon find yourself in tall grass. While the course is a public course, I would have to say it is in much better shape then most public tracks in the inner bay area. My NCGA club did well in signing us up for a day at Manteca, but coming from the East Bay and a 1 hour/half a tank of gas, I don't think I'll be wandering out to Manteca too often. If I had reason to be out that way I would most certainly return. I think the people of Manteca should be/are proud of their course. read more

Beautiful course, UGLY customer service! I was so excited to come and play this course but that quickly changed once I interacted with the staff. From the very beginning there was no warm greetings, no smiles, no thank you's. I explained to the cashier that this was my first time there and I didn't know my way around. It seemed like a hassle to him to simply explain how to get to the driving range. I was truly expecting something close to the exact opposite. Like " Oh really? You're going to really like it then! Let Mew tell you how to get to the driving range....." NOPE!!! JUST A DRAB, WHY ARE YOU BOTHERING ME REACTION. I received the same sort of service when I went to but a drink in their restaurant. I haven't played this course in nearly 20 years. I played it today and was very impressed. The staff in the club house and later in the grill were super nice and accommodating. The food in the grill was delicious, by the way. The clubhouse was clean and modern, liked that! We decided to walk, which was pleasant. The course was in great shape for a public course, I especially loved the greens! They were as good as any I've played on, anywhere. Well done greens keepers!!! My first complaint was with folks occasionally hitting into our fairway. So be aware if you play there. Also hole #3 was a bit confusing, it requires a precise layup to avoid the lake on one side and ob on the other to a severe dogleg. A sign with distances would be nice.
