BEAUTIFUL building. Drinks at Minnesota prices. For a lady, the guy/girl ratio is unfortunate, but dudes, you better get your act together and start trolling for ladies!! The level of dress is surprisingly good for Minnesota. With a better DJ and higher attendance, this place will be amaze. Excellent service; the staff ratio is like 1 to 5!! Can't wait to come back here for bottle service. :-D

Hookah - so pretty.

Went for my boyfriend's birthday and the Mansion was an awesome choice. We started with bottle service and hookah out on the lounge. It's the perfect combo on a summer night if you want to kick it on the patio. Service was great (thanks, Peace!) and the decor of the hookah is extremely eye-catching. Actually, the decor of the entire place is all beautiful. There's also a dance floor and more lounge space in the inside, decked with high posh furniture and modern lights that makes it all Insta-Worthy. More bars too. If you're looking for a classy chill night (though you can definitely turn up like we did), this is the place to go.

New DJ!

Nightingale always provides a wonderful experience. My spouse and I stopped in on the Friday…read moreevening of Memorial Day weekend, thinking it wouldn't be crowded because of the holiday weekend. Wrong. Nightingale was packed, but fortunately, once two patrons saw my face from the bar, they quickly paid their bill and left. My face often compels people to vacate in Minneapolis, and we often find seats in crowded establishments. After grabbing the two seats, we ordered wine and a wonderful cocktail made with Amaro. Jules was our bartender/server, and although he was crazy busy, he found time to be gracious to us. We ordered the meatball appetizer, halibut, and the Nightingale hamburger. My halibut was sublime, cooked perfectly, and it wasn't drowned in sauce. Bravo! The meatballs were tender and delicious, but the hamburger was not memorable. It was good, not great. Despite all the accolades above, when the bill came, I was charged two dollars after requesting a cucumber slice for my Pimms Cup. Perhaps the source of this pettiness came from the kitchen, but it wasn't smart, because the $2.00 charge placed a shroud over my experience. The bill was $125, and because of the petty two buck charge, I only left a $25 tip. I was going to leave a $30 tip. I will sadly remember those 2 bucks forever. It was a myopic move and a passive aggressive way to handle my request. In my birthplace home of NYC, a bartender would have said, "Getting a cucumber slice is a pain in the rear, would you mind skipping it." My response, "Sure, it's not a big deal."

The service was genuinely friendly and pleasant throughout our visit, which went a long way. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. I tried the NY Strip special, which was fine but nothing memorable - exactly what you'd expect, no more, no less. The oysters were disappointing for the price point; the quality just wasn't there. The mushroom bruschetta similarly underwhelmed - it felt like it was missing something to make it stand out. The bright spot? The drinks were solid and well-crafted. I wanted to rate this higher based on the atmosphere and service alone, but at the end of the day, the food has to deliver. With so many great options in Minneapolis, Nightingale needs to step up its culinary game to match its lovely setting. I'd consider returning for drinks, but probably not for dinner.

The ambiance is relaxed, low light as soon as you walk in and the place is buzzing with energy. The food and drinks here are amazing. Got some oysters to share.. so fresh and light, with all the fixings just as you would like. Perfect. Also the fries were chefs kiss. Super light and fluffy and flavorful.. always a perfect addition to any meal! I got the short rib and lemme tell ya... super good. Packed full of flavor, good quality meat.. very good! Wouldn't change much about it. It was a larger, more filling dish, and this with the addition of the apps was more than enough. I got my typical grey goose club soda lemon lime and they were actually served fairly strong ( will never complain about that lol). Waitress was good.. she definitely checked on us a lot, I wish that she would checked on us a bit less because it did become a bit much at a certain point. I would definitely come back here!

I also for the buckwheat savory crepe that was filled with mushroom and spinach and it was filling. The buckwheat makes the crepe a little thicker I think. Plate comes with poached eggs and the yolkiness helps bind everything together. The side house salad was also very refreshing too. Overall, a really cute spot that I'd recommend! I heard their dinner is quite good too.

I approached the bar and asked for a dirty martini, specified my vodka preference and requested a lesser amount of the brine. Brandy (the bartender), began preparing the cocktail and I knew immediately that she didnt know what she was doing. I tasted a sip of the prepared cocktail and was very disappointed. I asked Brandy if another bartender could prepare the cocktail. Brandy found Dylan. Dylan was excellent. Dylan asked questions about my preference in vodka, how much brine I's like and asked if I wanted a vermouth rinse. Dylan measure the ingredients well and prepared the perfect cocktail. I was so impressed, I continued to order cocktails from Dylan for the remainder of the night and tipped him well. Later in the night, Brandy reapproached me and asked, "You don't trust me to make you a drink?" I explained to Brandy that once I have a bad experience with a bartender or server, I rather try a different server/bartender. It wasn't personal, but I refuse to pay for bad or mediocre service. While Brandy wasn't rude or mean, I believe she could benefit from more training in cocktail crafting and delivering an experience to the customer. I spoke to Hannah who was kind and receptive to my feedback. I would visit again and hope the next time my experience is even better.

The W was one of the host hotels for the official Prince Celebration 2022 festivities and the official welcome party was held at The Living Room. As to be expected, this party resulted in lots of people who came to dance, drink and to celebrate the 'Purple Yoda from Minnesota'. Surprisingly, this space was an excellent option for the party it has a dance floor area along with a large well-stocked bar which easily accommodated everyone's drink choice. Add to that, they had a few Purple drink specials for the night which were tasty. The bartenders did a great job in processing the nonstop drink orders and the servers were kept very busy throughout the night. When not used for parties, the ambiance is much more laid-back. As the name says, it has more of a 'living room' feel. In addition to the long bar, there are many sections of lounge seating (chars, couches, etc.) which are perfect for unwinding. Even after the party, the bar continued to be well-stocked; so well-stocked that a friend and I made a couple of discoveries while sipping one afternoon. To our surprise, they had a bottle of Old Rip Van Winkle (10 year) along with a bottle of Weller Single Barrel. It's rare to find either at a bar; having both made for an amazing find. My friend and I quickly made it our mission to empty both bottles so we would each have a souvenir from The Living Room (we succeeded). Following the welcome party, the bartenders could have been a bit tired but that was far from the case, they were as energetic and welcoming as they were at the party. If interested in food to go with your adult beverage, they work directly with Manny's Steakhouse (also attached to The W) which means anything from appetizers to a complete steak dinner can be ordered and enjoyed while in The Living Room. On future trips, whether staying at The W or not, I will make a point to stop by The Living Room for an adult beverage or two.

Located inside the Foshay Tower, there's street and valet parking available! We entered through the W hotel lobby and took the elevator up to the 27th floor! It has Prohibition-themed decor, but I wouldn't quite call it a speakeasy, as there wasn't any guise to entering or accessing the space. My only critique is that the space is quite dated, but not in a cool way. It could really use an update to the paint and interior to maintain itself as a "destination" versus just another hotel bar with a view. The bartenders were quite friendly and helpful during our visit. We had an Old Fashioned and a Paper Plane during our visit! Both cocktails were absolutely delicious and perfectly made. Now, at around $26 each, I would expect that level. Overall, a cool, historical spot to grab a drink!
