    The stage area

Entering the building is a restaurant dining area with a full bar. Entering the theater area has all of the 1929 atmosphere and beautiful architecture that made this a special treat. The decor is very detailed and preserved. The balcony area has food service and table seating. The regular seating is comfortable and well organized with the seating. The stage is a beautiful setting turning the once theatre screen into a stage for the performers. Acoustics are great The bar prices are reasonable and the full bar allows purchases to take to your drinks to your seating area. For many the Granada was the Suburban Theatre for many years.

Such a beautiful venue. I recently attended a Candlelight Concert here. There's a bar when you walk in. Not sure if it was only open because there was an event happening or if it's generally a bar you can go whenever but it was packed. We headed upstairs to event in the theatre and there was another bar. Lines were long but staff did the best to keep things moving. Seating was a bit tight and since most of the seating is on the main level, if someone tall sits in front of you, makes it hard to see the stage. But we were there for the music, and I love smaller venues for music. I'm planning on attending another event here soon so I'm excited to see how they decorate.

Such a cool venue! We attended for a live music performance, and I was sooo excited to see the space. They have a small bar area in the front which is great for getting a drink or bite before a show. Unfortunately for us, the place was absolutely PACKED so we could hardly move, let alone order. There was a huge line for the bar so we decided to skip it. Not necessarily the venue's fault, but it is on the small side, so if you want to dine or drink here before, come early. The theater itself is STUNNING! Starlight ceiling, cool decor on the walls and a beautiful stage. They also have a bar inside the theater, which was much more convenient to get to. The seating was standard chairs - again, potentially not the fault of the theater, but it wasn't the most comfortable. Because everything is on the same floor, views from the further back rows wouldn't be nearly as good as those in the front. I loveeee the decor and vibe of the theater itself and would love to see nicer seating options elevate this to its full potential!

Such a gorgeous venue! I was pleasantly surprised that the drinks were a reasonable price for a venue - approx $9/beer or seltzer. Bar lines got a bit long at times but the service was great. Clean and ample bathrooms. Super cute venue. Will definitely come back again!

My husband and I went here for "Taste the Movies." The movie shown was Disney's animated film Aladdin. It is a cool venue. I love the starry ceiling. The mocktails were great. The food was delicious. For the event, they have assigned tables for their guests. They don't have assigned seats--the reason I'm stating that is because the staff asked our table a few times if anyone was vegan, gluten-free, or needed non-alcoholic drinks. I was the only non-alcoholic drinker at my table, and they missed my mocktail. They try to differentiate the alcoholic vs. non-alcoholic by using glow bracelets, but I missed. Otherwise, I like the idea--it is pretty cool, and the food is good and filling. There is a parking ramp nearby within walking distance.

Was here recently for Star Wars Burlesque. It's a very nice venue. It's smaller than I expected, but I love the intimacy of it! Staff is super friendly and efficient. My only gripe is we sat in the back balcony, which we thought would be good seats..well..it's nice and high, but it's just three rows of folding chairs so if you're short (like me) and there's two rows of tall people seated in front of you, you end up standing the whole show or you can't see anything. Would love to see them add some angled seating.

beautiful and unique place to watch a movie. not the ideal seating for a full length film though. I'm sure it's more suited for other events.

What a beautiful and elegant, architectural masterpiece with exceptional service the moment you arrive to the front door. The show was an absolutely captivating, fully immersive experience. It was a silent film of the original Phantom of The Opera, but with live and modern orchestra production by Philip Shorey. Beyond well done! My wife and enjoyed non alcoholic beverages from the bar and picked a T shirt after the show. You would absolutely love this theater.

Checking in at the Granada theater for a good music show

Was a great experience for a music show and nice to get back to uptown as it has been some time. Was a very clean place and they had good drinks as well. Would recommend a more experienced sound guy as it was a tad bit off for some of the music. Some of the sets you could not even hear the vocals or the bass with too much guitar.

I attended my first event in this venue in December and I would love to come back. It was lovely. The event was the Fever Candlelight Holiday Jazz concert. The entire theatre is lit only by candlelight. The theatre has a starry ceiling to add to the atmosphere. The music was festive. The lead singer had a beautiful voice and the musicians were very talented. My only wish is that they would have played longer than about an hour. We had a VIP table which meant we were seated in the back of the theatre in a tiered viewing area. So we were farthest from the stage but had our own space, were elevated from the stage, and a had place to put our cocktails. In front of us were rows of chairs and I'm not sure if there was a slant to the floor so the back row could see. They only had one bartender working and a long line so, so thankfully, another joined to help. Loved the concert and venue. Looking for another option to attend an event at the Granada Theatre.

Gorgeous space with so much potential. Food is pretty good too. There was new staff in the kitchen so food did take a while. Didn't matter, we were enjoying the show. Our table had Mussels, short rib sliders, and shrimp tacos. All were really good. However, the service was uneven and somewhat inexperienced although very friendly and upbeat. The prices are too low on several items and, in my opinion, too low to keep this place sustainable. There aren't enough seats at this price point to generate enough revenue. (It will be really hard to keep service staff if they aren't making good money). The band was great, the sound was great too. A great stage for music events. After the "growing pains" this is going to be must see place for a good show.

We booked all three rooms back in Fall of '23 and paid our deposit and were excited to get planning come May this year. We got to a month before the event and hadn't heard anything from the Event Coordinator regarding current menu, bar, timing, anything. Three weeks prior to the event we reached out and heard nothing for a week. Two weeks out we followed up and found out the Event Coordinator had changed from the one we booked with and the new one was out for an indeterminate period of time with a family emergency. We worked as best we could with the Event Captain but ended up with incorrect menus and pricing and were finally told the Event Coordinator would be back the Monday of our event week and it would be handled then. We got finalized menus and pricing 36 hours before our event. This was extremely stressful, however, we empathized with the Event Coordinator and were assured the event itself would be great. On the day, we arrived and the staff setting up was unsure how many chairs we wanted. They didn't know which equipment we had paid for to use that needed to be set up. They didn't know what the event was for. They were all very nice and let us know they had extremely limited information about our event which was very concerning for us. The Event Coordinator was present for about 5 mins to ask us about a backup wine if ours ran out and that was it (it did run out because there was only one bottle). There was no Event Captain, and the Coordinator was not on hand and (according to staff) unreachable during the event. We had agreed upon several things including a finite amount to pay for "open bar" and then switching to card after that point and we found out only AFTER we met our minimum that they were never told/weren't prepared to take cards. At that point, our options were no drinks (N/A or otherwise) for the last 3 hours or so of our event or we could just keep paying. So we ended up paying much more than was quoted/agreed upon due to lack of communication/oversight. We were told that guests could visit the attached Blue Stem bar, but it closed two hours before our event ended. We also had guests with dietary preferences/restrictions and had ordered vegan options and gluten free cake. We had asked if these could be explicitly labeled to avoid confusion and were told "yes" and on the day it did not happen so many of our guests were unaware there was anything they could eat at our reception. We were also told we could take our leftovers home and we only got cake when there was a lot of food left when they took it away. The sternos were out for some period of time and we couldn't find someone to help with that. The bar was left unattended. The bartenders were serving and refilling alcohol table to table (which we did not want or ask for), and did not pass appetizers as agreed upon. We reached out to the owner, twice, following our event to discuss our concerns to no avail. We LOVE French Meadow and are just heartbroken to have had this experience with them. Posting this (very lengthy) review in hopes no one else goes through this expensive disappointment.

It was so fabulous and we cannot say enough positive things about our experience! All of French Meadow's staff were so lovely to work with. Briana and the entire catering group were so helpful from Day 1. As most wedding couples do, we had a lot of questions about logistics and planning. They answered every one of our questions in a timely manner and were thorough in coordinating all of the details of our special day. The day of our wedding, everyone there was immensely helpful and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We truly owe them the world for making our wedding day so special! The room is perfect. We added floral centerpieces, but the room itself was setup exactly how we wanted, the chairs outside were moved once for our ceremony and then again for our first dance. The lighting both inside and out was more than we could have imagined. We were able to play our own music (a friend just had to manage the playlist), which was super easy! The FOOD, OH MY GOSH THE FOOD! So superb, we got so many compliments from our friends and family about how wonderful the food was. We got to choose 4 food options for our guests and only heard wonderful things about each entree. The cake was also super wonderful and delicious. We would recommend the Nord Room to anyone looking for an intimate wedding location. It was such an easy day (seriously, nothing went wrong!) and we couldn't have asked for a better staff or location. We had a beautiful day and we owe much of that to the wonderful folks at French Meadow!

New, shiny and very classy cool place to drink cocktails, have fun and dance…read more It opened a few weeks back and I really wanted to check this place out. Went out with many of my friends together and it may have become our favorite spot. 1. Decor Absolutely love the fact they have such high ceilings, thanks to the old library building, super high back leather chairs and overall classy sophisticated design makes this place really cool. 2. Drinks They serve a few signature cocktails and I liked all of them. They don't serve food here. 3. Dance You could technically dance anywhere. There's no dedicated dance floor. 4. Music They have DJs both inside and outside (patio) and good. 5. Patio It consists of 2 sections. Downstairs where you can hear each other better and large group setting tables or upstairs where you can sit or dance. 6. Hookah lounge Okay, I never did this so I didn't try it. But could see people who like hookah, enjoying it. It's also my first time seeing such thing as hookah lounge inside a bar/lounge. All in all, i think place is the new best dance, get together, lounge, cocktail place in Minneapolis. Highly recommend to check it out if you haven't been there yet.

From first glance, this club has lots of potential to be greater than what they intended. No doubt,…read morethe decoration, architecture, bar and seating areas are classy and elegant. It is probably the best in the Twin Cities. The DJ area was in the middle but kinda tucked away and hidden behind the super XXL sofas and chairs in this place, so you won't see them in the dark lights. I don't know if it's good or bad, but I like watching the DJ in action sometimes when I go out dancing. She was playing some good dance music. Before you head to Mansion, you have to come with an open mind and lots of forgiveness in your heart. Drink a lot or take a chill pill before you come because this place has lots of rules. The night we were here, there were more security guards and "hostess" sweeping the floor than regular customers. I call them hostess, but I don't really know what they do other than stand around looking gorgeous and smiling. They didn't greet us when we came in or take our drink orders throughout the night so I don't really know what they do. I heard there is dress code for the men so make sure you have collared shirt and long pants on. As for the ladies, you don't have to remind us to dress to kill for a night out. The is no cover charge so that's pretty awesome since we are sure to be drinking inside anyway. However, their policies for not allowing jackets laying around doesn't make for a fun time. I have never been to a club where they force you to either wear your darn jacket or pay for coat check service and only if you can find it due to poor signage. Firstly, I was told to remove my jacket from laying it on the arm rest of a couch that was supposedly reserved for an invisible party because no one showed up. Secondly, they tell me I can't put my jacket on the bar stool when we finally found some kind souls to share their limited bar seating area with us!! Really!!!!!!!!!?????? Mansion?????? My last encounter with Mansion's rules (whew this one tops the icing on the cake), I put down my empty champagne glass on a nearby table because we were having so much fun dancing that I didn't want to risk breaking a glass on the dance floor only to be told I have to put my glass at the bar! In short, he is telling me "bus your own empty glass, lady!" I asked him if he could take the glass away for me only to be refused because he is too good to do just that (provide good customer service) because he has a black suit on and an ear piece. I am a paying customer Mansion!!!??? Some advise for Mansion- let loose on your rules! There are not enough tables to put down our darn drinks so we can dance hands free! Instead, you have too many Reserved couches on the nights when your joint was half empty.

Disclaimer: THIS IS A REVIEW ABOUT THE RESTAURANT PORTION, NOT THE NIGHTCLUB PORTION. I hate to do…read morethis, but I need to get this out while it's fresh in my head. I finished eating here about 90 minutes ago and am quite disappointed. My friend and I were out hoping to get some burgers from Fremont on their $1.00 Burger Mondays, but they were closed due to a holiday party... so we saw this place and were familiar with the one downtown. We like the one downtown, so this one would be cool right? Wrong. I've also never eaten food from a Pourhouse either, only had drinks. I can see why. So we checked their menu and saw they offered a wing special on Mondays and were nearby so why not stop in, despite it having an average score of 2.5 stars on Yelp?! Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: This place looks SO NICE! Both the inside and out look so modern, well-decorated, clean, neat and like a place that would be fun to hangout in. They did a great job with that. This place is so huge and serves great as a nightclub on a busy weekend or college night. Restaurant seating is right in the middle of what seems to double as a huge dance floor that is right up against the bar. The ceiling stretches so high and you can see right up to the 2nd floor from all over. This place looks awesome and seems like it has MASSIVE potential for the night scene. Service: This is where things started to take a dive. Ezra was our lovely server, but that was kind of it. She looked nice, showed up, took our orders, smiled and that was really it. She didn't refill my water, didn't ask my friend if he wanted another drink, didn't check on us after our food showed up, NOTHING. Granted, she was the only one running the bar and the bar floor, but still... we needed things. No excuses as we are paying customers. She wasn't there. I had complaints, but I couldn't even tell her... because I don't think she cared. Moving on... Food: I'm a big guy with a huge palate and there isn't much food that I don't finish, but SURPRISE! Lol. I ordered 2 "buckets" of their wings. One good thing is that you can get 2 flavors per bucket. (It's actually not a bucket at all, but a nicely presented plate with celery, sauce and neatly organized wings, 10 of them to be precise. They were so overcooked. They weren't good. At all, but I was starving, so I ate. I tried their Peanut Sauce, Grand Mariner, P.H. Rub and Dry Ranch. They all were such a light flavor that I could hardly taste the difference between them, though the Grand Mariner was my favorite of the 4. I just wish, WISH the wings weren't cooked so freaking long! By the time I got to the last few I couldn't even eat them. They were so tough... like jerky, but hey... guess who wasn't around for me to let them know how I felt? You got it! Lol. Nah, it ain't that serious, I'm just being a jerk, but yeah... the wings weren't good. I don't ever plan on coming back here for the wings... though if they weren't cooked long enough I'm sure they'd be fine. Value: $5.00 for 10 wings. That's a freaking DEAL man! I was all over it! I'm just sad I didn't like what I experienced. Oh well, I shall lose no sleep over it, but I needed to get this out. Oh, let us not forget that this place charges 2.9% extra if you're using a card. Like, for real man? It's 2018! Lol. You don't find out about this until you get your bill and it says it WWAAYY at the bottom of the receipt. Lol. I mean, I guess. So you can either pay the 2.9% extra for using your card, use cash or get bent over by the ATM and its fees at the front door. You choose! In conclusion, I'll come here to party, possibly... not to eat. That's what this place is good for and it's made clear.
