Mano Peruanas is one of the few Peruvian restaurants in Tulsa where one could get authentic Peruvian cuisines. It's not my favorite Peruvian restaurant, and it really depends on what you get. The bisteck a lo pobre is described as "popular dish for hungry people all over Peru, made of seasoned steak including garlic and pepper, fried until it gets a golden color, accompanied with white rice, hot dogs, French fries, fried plantains, fried egg and salad." It truly comes in a big portion size for hungry people. My least favorite part is the steak. It tastes more like grilled rather than fried, and it's cooked really well done, making it taste too chewy. The flavor is good, but the steak is not. The hot dogs are the cheapest kind you get at the store, cut up in slices and grilled. They could at least use better hotdogs. Everything else was good on this dish, and of course fried plantains are always my favorite. Restaurant was really slow when I was there. During lunch, there were 1-2 tables, but you have the whole place to yourself. There weren't any to go orders either. I hope this was just a slow day, otherwise I just don't see how they could continue to open. Inside there is a TV monitor playing Peruvian music at all times. P.S. I went to Mano Peruanas solely to get the Peruvian Food Fan recognition.

This place is so clean, you smell fabuloso right when you walk in. They were out of a few things but the food was delicious. It didn't take any time to get our food.

We love to try new places and international cuisine. I had a Yelp recommendation pop up a few weeks ago, so we decided to give it a try. I had been to that location before when it was a restaurant of a different name....Mi Tierra, I believe. The place has been remodeled since then and has a much smaller dining room now, maybe only 10 tables or so. We arrived shortly before noon and there was one other couple there. We were promptly greeted and told to sit wherever we like. She then came with menus and took our order. Upon bringing drinks to the table, she then took our order. I ordered the Arroz con Pollo, while she ordered the Lomo Saltado. I also ordered the canchita for an appetizer. The canchitas were great. Salty and crunchy kernels of corn. The wait was longer than I would have expected since the place was so slow, but our entrees arrived steaming hot. Both plates look appetizing and smelled fabulous. My chicken dish consistsed of leg and thigh with a side of rice. Needless to say my plate was cleaned. Her dish was beef strips with some fries and a side of rice. Both dishes were full of flavor and were very satisfying. The food and service was great and we will be back for more.

Forgive me, Yelpers! The names of these dishes are lost on me, but please, don't let that stop you from trying any of the incredible dishes that this place has to offer. seriously, it's like W O W. I' m a petite woman, but as proven by the attached photo, the portions are obviously generous and the flavor C'est magnifique! The atmosphere seems like a nice place to grab lunch or go on a casual date that would still make for an interesting and altogether, amazing meal. The owner (assuming it's the older gentleman who waits tables) is so friendly and sweet. He speaks Spanish fluently, so make sure you brush up a bit before you go. Trust me! The conversation alone is worth it. A++

Start your meal with the Causa! Causa is a delicious, layered mashed potato salad, seasoned with avocado, onions, egg, and Peruvian yellow pepper. In between the two layers of the mashed potatoes is a layer of chicken or shrimp (your choice) mixed with what I thought was a mayo based dressing, green onion and other spices. We ordered it with shrimp. It was topped off with a slice of hard-boiled egg, and an olive. A delicious appetizer or even a meal by itself. We were in the restaurant at 2:30 right between the busy hours. There were still a half a dozen patrons enjoying food in the small dining area. Cecilia the owner was busing tables and serving customers. Super nice lady! It was a pleasure to meet her. The walls of the restaurant are decorated with Peruvian art and souvenirs. In the background TVs are playing soft Peruvian music while showing the beautiful landscape and animals of the country. Upon entering were promptly greeted and seated. Drinks first. Manos has a large selection of South American beverages. I don't think unsweet iced tea is on their drink menu. I didn't know, but, that is what I asked for. Cecilia said she would make a fresh pitcher and she did! I had been studying the menu prior to arrival. The Jalea de Pescado kept catching my eye. It is Sea Bass seasoned with garlic, salt, and flour then fried for 2 minutes. This is some awesome crispy perfectly fried fish accompanied with perfectly fried Peruvian yucca, Peruvian boiled white corn, and a crunchy sampling of mountain roasted corn. The menu describes a "creole onion sauce" on the side for the fish but, it sure tasted like bottled tartar sauce to me. There was a massive amount of fish on the plate; easily enough for two people! The Peruvian boiled white corn was nothing exceptional. It was an interesting to try it for the first time though. It was large kernels of corn similar to hominy, but with more texture and flavor. My wife was there to have the Mofongo with Shrimp. This too was a big portion of food. A good sized bowl filled with lightly seasoned mofongo, large shrimp, topped with a flavorful sauce that had a taste very similar to Thousand Island dressing. Apparently this place changed names about 6 months ago & changed up the menu. They have several options from Venezuela, Columbia & Peru. We had a Venezuelan appetizer, Tacu Tacu, Lomo Saltado & the Peruvian Beer. All very very good. The potions are decent as well. Apparently sometimes they are so busy, they close early - so best to call ahead & make sure they are open.

Fantastic Peruvian restaurant in South Tulsa. Inside there were TVs playing traditional Peruvian music and Peruvian flags on every table. They do have lunch specials on their menu, but we decided on getting their full Peruvian 4 flavors dish (Arroz Con Pollo- rice with chicken, Papa A La Huancaina- potatoes with spicy creamy sauce, Anticuchos- cow heart kabobs, Aji De Gallina- spicy creamy chicken) and their Peruvian Tamale. We wanted to try their Inca Kola, but it was sold out at the time. The food came out fresh and warm, and had great savory flavors. We would definitely try out some of their other dishes next time!

I went on a weekday at around 1pm and there wasn't anyone else there. The place was clean & nicely decorated. Our server was polite, friendly, & answered any questions. Ordered the following & everything was delicious! I would definitely come back to try some of the other dishes. Chicha Morada Arepa Empanada Anticuchos - marinated grilled beef heart with chulpe corn & potatoes. Chupe de Camarones - Peruvian Shrimp Chowder
