The Pabellon Arepas keep me coming back. Salsa is great and the food is fresh. Pair it with a beer from Shot Happens.

The updated interior is very clean and inviting, with a mix of seating options depending on your mood. They offer a variety of drink options, including self serve stations and bar selections. The staff is friendly and genuinely enthusiastic about the menu, which always makes the experience better. Food comes out all at once, which I appreciate because you are not waiting between dishes. I ordered: * Lamb empanada with Chipotle mayo * House salad * Mixto with mahi mahi and shrimp * tres leche cake The lamb empanada was soft, juicy, and full of flavor. The house salad came with a lemon dressing that was fresh and bright. Adding the chipotle mayo as a dip for the empanada was a great choice and added another layer of flavor. The mixto was a standout. The mahi mahi and shrimp were both tender and sat in a flavorful curry sauce that paired perfectly with the rice. The plantain chips added a satisfying crunch, and the vegetable based dip that came with them was a great complement to the dish. For dessert, I tried the tres leches cake because the house made ice cream was not yet available. It was a nice, sweet finish to the meal. Overall, this is a spot I would return to. The food is flavorful, the space is well designed, and the service makes the experience feel welcoming from start to finish.

I forgot to take a picture of the empanadas, but all of the food that we purchased was top-tier. I love how the space looks since it was built out in expanded because it serves so many more people and gives so much more of a sophisticated experience. They were busy the night that we went so our food didn't come out as fast as I would have liked, but regardless of how busy it was, the food was great and the service was spot on. If I were you reading this post, I would take time to try every empanada so that you can find your favorite because once you find your favorite, you will not be disappointed, and you will become a faithful customer.

I will leave that call to reviewers that know Guatemalan cuisine. I wouldn't know authentic Guatemalan food if I had a mouth full of it. All I know is that it was tasty, and not Mexican food. I had a picture on my phone that a Google reviewer had posted. It looked delicious. I showed the picture to the owner and asked what they were. Guatemalan Enchiladas was his reply. I followed that question with "are they on the menu, I can't find them?" His response "No, But I will make them for you." He did. I also asked if he had a salsa picante to go with them. He replied yes and in the same sentence warned this gringo that it was very hot. It was perfect on the enchiladas. My wife went with a breakfast plate, Desayuno Chapin. While we were waiting, the owner brought out two fried corn tortillas spread with a thin creamy tasty layer of black beans. Both were finished with a sprinkling of tangy sharp cotija cheese. A nice complimentary appetizer. The plates arrived. Mine was three fried corn tortillas (tostada shells) covered with a generous salad of fried shredded cabbage, carrot, and pickled beets. A good portion of fried chicken breast cut into small pieces was on top of the salad, then finished with cilantro. I got tricked into eating somewhat healthy. I enjoyed the meal. My wife's breakfast meal was scrambled eggs, creamy smooth black beans, fried plantains, a big chunk of mild queso fresco, a dollop of mayonnaise and tortillas to scoop it all up with. She added some of the salsa picante to spice it up. She loved the food.

Since March 2023, they have expanded to serving Peruvian cuisine only on Wednesday and Thursday while continue to serve Venezuelan cuisine from Friday to Tuesday. I am not exactly sure why not just serve Venezuelan and Peruvian cuisine everyday. I came in on a Thursday and was limited to the white menu, Peruvian cuisine only. Not happy already because the main reason why I came in was to try the 3 meat combo from the grill. Nevertheless, I decided to stay and got the tallarin saltado with is sautéed sirloin beef stir fried with onions, tomatoes, and noodles. I actually prefer this dish over the lomo saltado with comes with rice and fries which I had the day before. The restaurant was really slow on Thursday evening and presumably Wednesday as well. Google still shows that they are not open on these days. There was just one other table dining and the restaurant was dead silence. There was just one worker, maybe two, but one person should be enough. They really should just provide both Venezuelan and Peruvian food all the time, not 2 days of Peruvian and 5 days of Venezuelan. It just adds too much confusion and may result in customer's dissatisfaction like me today. I really don't want the restaurant to become KzeroGrill in the distant future.
